Quartz
Quartz is a modular approach to a casting bar addon. An overview of (hopefully most of) the modules:
*Player
The core of Quartz is lightweight implementation of a standard casting bar, with configurable size, text and icon positioning, and colors.
*Target/Focus
Implementation of target and focus casting bars in similar fashion to the player cast bar.
*Buffs
Display of target and focus buffs and debuffs as duration bars.
*Flight
Hooks into FlightMap or InFlight to display the current flight progress on your casting bar.
*Global Cooldown
Displays a tiny spark-bar to show your Global Cooldown near the cast bar. Helpful for those who'd rather not squint at their action bars to see when they can cast again.
*Interrupt
Changes the color and text of your casting bar to help show that your cast has been interrupted (and show who interrupted it).
*Latency
Displays the amount of time spent between cast send and start events, in the form of a bar at the end of your casting bar, with optional text that displays the actual duration of the lag. This helps in canceling casts when they will not actually be interrupted, especially for users with consistently high pings.
*Mirror
Shows the 'basic' timers such as breath and feign death, as well as some 'odd' ones such as party invite time, resurrect timeout, and arena game start, and a framework for injecting custom timers into the bars.
*Range
Recolors the casting bar when your cast target moves out of range mid-cast.
*Swing
Displays a swing timer for your melee weapon as well as hunter autoshot.
*Timer
Allows for creating custom timers displayed on the mirror bars.
*Tradeskill Merge
Merges multiple casts of the same tradeskill item into one big cast bar.
Use /quartz to bring up the configuration menu.
yeah, not being able to drag it is a deal breaker =( other wise it looks awesome. but I wont use it till its dragable!
I like the mod. But I can't leave eCasting Bar if you don't put a function for showing where the bars are for movability. Not being able to drag my bars around killed it for me. =\
uhm, you can drag them if you just unlock it.
its under the menu for each bar you want to drag. ;)
Example:
if you wanna drag the main cast bar, go under player and click the lock check box.
Awesome mod!
I have these feature requests / bugs that need fix:
- make the GCD bar look like the regular casting bar, the current one is ugly and hard to see against certain environments. The code was fairly easy for me to modify manually to get this working.
- add the lag indicator to the target casting bar, this lets me know the latest point that I must use an interrupt skill for it to register on the server.
- update lag indicator more frequently, for longer casting spells the lag can become invalid by the time it gets to the end. Every 0.5 seconds should be sufficient if the info is available.
- apply the 'hide samwise icon' for the tradeskill bar.
- allow to filter only my debuffs for the debuff bars
I tested this mod early last week and it looks really good. Lots of ways to configure and pleasing, colorful graphics, with a nice modular design.
The only limitation I've found is the lack of a global cast list. As in all casts with their remaining time, regardless of target.
At present those bars only show up if you're targeting the mob you've cast the spell on. But it would really help if an extra module was implemented to show all casts on all mobs with their target name in the same way as the other modules
yeah I have the same problem as magiician with the numbers over the buffs some of them are helpfull for shadow word: Pain but for shadowweaving I cant tell how many shadowwevaes are stacked on the target because the countdown numbers are in the way. So I am also looking for a way to disable this feature. Other than that great mod I just got to figure out how to move the bars around :)
the target buffs won't work -.- tryin' to get it work since the last 3 hours ... and i have no idea what i can do.
there is just a gray bar, no buff logo and nothin ... and ideas ? :O
Great Addon! (switched from ECB) Having a little problem: the first time I log on the casting bars don't show up. I have to logout and re-logon...
is there any option that places the all quartz cast bars on top layer? cause i want my cast bars to be over all other addons. ty. nice addon. but it uses pretty much memory.
First of all thnx for quartz lovely mod!!!
but is there anyway you can add a "buff" filter, i would like it not to show my mindflay and souch on my target and only show buffs like SWP VT VE etc ;) hope this is posible..

Hey, I have one quick question. On the targets buffs there is a number determining how long is left on the buff. But it covers up the entire icon. Ive tried playing w/ the add on for a hour trying to figure out how to turn it off and I can't find out any way to. I know its Quartz to because I went to the add on's tab at the login screen to disable it and the numbers are gone, then when I enable the add on again they're back. Any help is appreciated. Thanks
@bockhorn
You can replace all of your skills with macros that /stopcasting /cast spell
for example, for a frost mage, he could create a macro that read
/stopcasting
/cast Frostbolt
you cant spam this ability, but if you time it correctly, right when the castbar reaches the lag section, this strategy has been known to increase DPS by an extreme 10%
how do you move the bar? cant find the option
i cant seem to get the InFlight hook to function properly. Does inflight have to know the flight before it can hook? cause my outlands flights have all been (timing) so far
yeah see whats happening is its making flights too long, ill say something at flightmap too. this is jsut an FYI
Love this addon!
My suggestion. Ghost timers for Dots (a la Dotimer). If the mod had this feature I could live without Dotimer altogether.
And maybe DoT expire sounds? like a ding when meh corruption kapoofs
awesome mod. btw
Im curious, the latency bar seems to be a great idea, but do I have to make the cast cancel when its actually loaded through moving or pressing esc etc (i.e doing it manually), or does it do that automatically so I can just mash my buttons without having to worry about loosing efficiency due to latency...?
Yay for files disappearing.. :(
By the way, in general I'm not able to keep up with replying to comments, but I do read 'em all, and I've got a big to-do list for Quartz. :)
Thanks farook... seems so obvious now. love this mod, have been using ecasting bar forever, which IS a great mod too. But love the new options available in this mod. I'm converted. :)
