Quartz
Quartz is a modular approach to a casting bar addon. An overview of (hopefully most of) the modules:
*Player
The core of Quartz is lightweight implementation of a standard casting bar, with configurable size, text and icon positioning, and colors.
*Target/Focus
Implementation of target and focus casting bars in similar fashion to the player cast bar.
*Buffs
Display of target and focus buffs and debuffs as duration bars.
*Flight
Hooks into FlightMap or InFlight to display the current flight progress on your casting bar.
*Global Cooldown
Displays a tiny spark-bar to show your Global Cooldown near the cast bar. Helpful for those who'd rather not squint at their action bars to see when they can cast again.
*Interrupt
Changes the color and text of your casting bar to help show that your cast has been interrupted (and show who interrupted it).
*Latency
Displays the amount of time spent between cast send and start events, in the form of a bar at the end of your casting bar, with optional text that displays the actual duration of the lag. This helps in canceling casts when they will not actually be interrupted, especially for users with consistently high pings.
*Mirror
Shows the 'basic' timers such as breath and feign death, as well as some 'odd' ones such as party invite time, resurrect timeout, and arena game start, and a framework for injecting custom timers into the bars.
*Range
Recolors the casting bar when your cast target moves out of range mid-cast.
*Swing
Displays a swing timer for your melee weapon as well as hunter autoshot.
*Timer
Allows for creating custom timers displayed on the mirror bars.
*Tradeskill Merge
Merges multiple casts of the same tradeskill item into one big cast bar.

No matter what I try, I cannot get the damn GCD timer to work. What's the trick?
example: stealthed rogue coming towards me i see him try to click but thats where my bar is so it just does nothing.
please respond
Anyway, great addon!
@wadley: the swing timer only works with swings performed with two handed or ranged weapons, not for dual wield (including titans grip).
Does this have a friggen keylogger or virus in it???
I want it to make the calculations for me, and present me with the results.
Given my example, I can figure out that I have 2.82 seconds before I can cast Immolate. I can see that the buff will wear off between 2 to 3 seconds from now. How can I make an accurate decision with this kind of data?
And can you make the calculations I outlined below 6 times in 1.61 seconds with all of the counters changing on the fly? On the average, I have 6-8 buffs I have to keep up on the target, and possibly on the focus. Plus I have haste effects proccing regularly
I suppose you feel it's better to have the player guess on these issues. Why not remove all of the numbers from the buffs, and have people guess based on visual clues of the amount of the bar left? Why bother using addons at all?
I'm trying to IMPROVE my DPS by reducing the downtime between DoT's . I've been raiding for months. I believe my use of the addon is quite sensible.
In any case, I've done it. Now I'm working on making it autoadjust to whatever buttonbar I'm using. When I'm done, I'll submit my patch to the author to decide what he would want to do with it.
Try actually reading and thinking about a post before you automatically mouth off.
I want to decide whether or not I should cast immolate again as soon as my incinerate goes off. If the buff would wear off before I could recast immolate, I will want to cast it, but if it wouldn't have worn off, I wont.
Is there a way for quartz to figure out that it would take me (1.81-0.2+1.21) 2.82 seconds at best to cast immolate, and show me whether the buff has more or less than this time remaining?
I considered playing with my version so that the buffs improperly report their time minus their casting time, and then changing the color if the time remaining was less than the current spellcast. But before I tried something like this, I thought I'd ask if it was necessary
I've just made the jump from DoTimer to Quartz, and there are a few things I miss still..
- Option to make the bars stay at 100% until time left drops beneath x seconds (makes it a little more clean)
- Bar color fade as it depletes (to red)
- The ability to have no background on the timer bars
Another thing I really do want, that DoTimer didn't have, is an indicator of cast time on the buff/debuff timers..
Say I cast Vampiric Touch on the mob, the timer appears and there is a small vertical line crossing it at the 1.42 second mark (cast time modified by haste) Is this possible to implement?
If it is possible, it should update as haste changes (think bloodlust)
