Quartz
Quartz is a modular approach to a casting bar addon. An overview of (hopefully most of) the modules:
*Player
The core of Quartz is lightweight implementation of a standard casting bar, with configurable size, text and icon positioning, and colors.
*Target/Focus
Implementation of target and focus casting bars in similar fashion to the player cast bar.
*Buffs
Display of target and focus buffs and debuffs as duration bars.
*Flight
Hooks into FlightMap or InFlight to display the current flight progress on your casting bar.
*Global Cooldown
Displays a tiny spark-bar to show your Global Cooldown near the cast bar. Helpful for those who'd rather not squint at their action bars to see when they can cast again.
*Interrupt
Changes the color and text of your casting bar to help show that your cast has been interrupted (and show who interrupted it).
*Latency
Displays the amount of time spent between cast send and start events, in the form of a bar at the end of your casting bar, with optional text that displays the actual duration of the lag. This helps in canceling casts when they will not actually be interrupted, especially for users with consistently high pings.
*Mirror
Shows the 'basic' timers such as breath and feign death, as well as some 'odd' ones such as party invite time, resurrect timeout, and arena game start, and a framework for injecting custom timers into the bars.
*Range
Recolors the casting bar when your cast target moves out of range mid-cast.
*Swing
Displays a swing timer for your melee weapon as well as hunter autoshot.
*Timer
Allows for creating custom timers displayed on the mirror bars.
*Tradeskill Merge
Merges multiple casts of the same tradeskill item into one big cast bar.
Use /quartz to bring up the configuration menu.
Not saying you should necessarily copy another add-on... One of the things that makes X-Perl so easy to set up is how you get labeled black boxes for all possible settings when you bring up the configuration window. Even things that aren't currently active can easily be configured. Then the block boxes go away when you close the configuration window. Maybe something like that could be implemented so I know what I'm looking at and what I'm actually changing?
I've noticed the savage roar isn't showing anymore, and i tried installing older versions to check it. Did Blizz change anything about it that prevents quartz from showing its status?
Quite a few people and I are interested in the capability of parenting other items (mainly KGPanels) to the QuartzMirror bar. Sadly this is impossible in game currently, could you possibly try to make this possible for us? Thanks
i just want to be able to have a bar timer to use as a stopwatch rather than the built in one.
in the quartz options, under "Timer", once i type out a name and input a number the "make timer" button remains grey.
Also, to move the cast bar, uncheck "Lock" And you can move it around.
Otherwise love it. ^^
To all ppl that wanna move bars and don't see lock tick box, first you have to select bar position to FREE then you can lock/unlock and move!
After comparing lua's of Quartz and AzCastBar I "fixed" my problem with GCD (im not using swing timer, as warlock). Usually "Find Herbs" is used for CGD watch spell, but from 3.1 it doest get GCD on spell use. So I just set "Fel Armor" as primary spell, and "Immolate" as secondary. Few uses of this spells for updates to become live and now.. i'm again with working GCD timer (only for casts, radar changes dont show gcd, but should use both "casts" for detect to prevent errors when 1 school is blocked). Hope it will help someone.
For those with the missing GCD bar or swing bar, have a look at a mod called AzCastBar. It has the same functionality as Quartz, except it works.
i love the look of the casting bar, all it needs is to be moveable
A tutorial or a walkthrough of setup would be helpful for this
