Quartz
Quartz is a modular approach to a casting bar addon. An overview of (hopefully most of) the modules:
*Player
The core of Quartz is lightweight implementation of a standard casting bar, with configurable size, text and icon positioning, and colors.
*Target/Focus
Implementation of target and focus casting bars in similar fashion to the player cast bar.
*Buffs
Display of target and focus buffs and debuffs as duration bars.
*Flight
Hooks into FlightMap or InFlight to display the current flight progress on your casting bar.
*Global Cooldown
Displays a tiny spark-bar to show your Global Cooldown near the cast bar. Helpful for those who'd rather not squint at their action bars to see when they can cast again.
*Interrupt
Changes the color and text of your casting bar to help show that your cast has been interrupted (and show who interrupted it).
*Latency
Displays the amount of time spent between cast send and start events, in the form of a bar at the end of your casting bar, with optional text that displays the actual duration of the lag. This helps in canceling casts when they will not actually be interrupted, especially for users with consistently high pings.
*Mirror
Shows the 'basic' timers such as breath and feign death, as well as some 'odd' ones such as party invite time, resurrect timeout, and arena game start, and a framework for injecting custom timers into the bars.
*Range
Recolors the casting bar when your cast target moves out of range mid-cast.
*Swing
Displays a swing timer for your melee weapon as well as hunter autoshot.
*Timer
Allows for creating custom timers displayed on the mirror bars.
*Tradeskill Merge
Merges multiple casts of the same tradeskill item into one big cast bar.
Use /quartz to bring up the configuration menu.
I am having a hell of a time figuring out how to move these bars. Is there a read me or guide some where?
Figured it out by going through duece commander, combat, quartz, player and uncheck the lock.
As a mage i need to do a few things in battles like sheeping, counterspelling and so on. Isn't it somehow possible or does anyone know of a good way to spam this mod/macro. like:
if the cast is in the green area -> dont stopcasting
if the cast is in the red area -> stopcasting
It kinda takes up 80% of your time to see when the cast enters the red area, then u need to be quick to press your /stopcasting /cast spell macro. would be awesome to just spam it and have it auto-abort for you when the cast enters the red area.
Could someone explain how to move the caster bars and buff to another location? Many thanks
I don't suppose this could integrate with ACE Hud and show the latency color on the casting arc?
Great addon. However, I am having problems with many of icons not working and thus showing the face of wossname the blizzard graphics designer. Have the exact same problem in SCT. Fun meta joke I am sure, but I am sick to death of having the damn face on my screen all the time. Saw in the update notes for Natur Enemy Castbar that it now redirects the icons missing in the database to the "?" icon instead of the face, which would definetly be an improvement.
Any help on this matter would be most appreciated
How come my quartz swing timer doesnt work with my dual wielding warrior? I cant seem to find any bars counting my swings, and I've got it ALL enabled!
edit: it shows a small cheesy bar if I use my Rend spell, useless.
Anyone else seeing a problem where Quartz isn't showing the correct latency ?
i installed a few other latency mods and they all corresponed with each other, showing the same latency.
The only one that differs is Quartz.
Any ideas ?
Thx
For some reason, Quartz is not working on my computer. I would love to replace eCastingBar with it, but i cant get it to work. I turn off all my mods, minus Quartz and Ace, and /quartz doesn't work. Help?
UPdate: tried removing my wtf folder, and various other things - no luck. Works on my second account that i never play though =\ what gives.
hw do u make stop casting macros that stop casting and shoot then start casting again
2 things would make this absolutely perfect for me
More descriptive tooltips about the settings.
Enemy cooldown timers (for example a timer bar when enemy pally sheild will expire) this mod already exists but since quartz replaces several of my mods already this last piece would be perfect so that everything has the same look and feel.
Love this mod, it's probably best caster mod in the game. Keep up the good work.
i should say red section is at opposite end cast bar on channeled spells which is still wrong end bar also.
i love the idea this addon. i live in australia playing on a US server and hav a high ping so this will be ideal. my only hassle is that for some reason the red latency section my cast bars is at the start on all spells with a casting time. yet the red section is at end as ment to be with channeled spells. i just cant find what option will correct this for me. HELP i need this mod :)
The swing bar doesnt works for druids while in bear or cat form, so could u add/fix this ?
Any thoughts of adding a Pet Target cast bar?
This is a great addon, but I still can't find out how to change the buff bar's position. Isn't it even possible, or can't I just do it?
I really like this mod, I think it has potential to become the standard for casting bars/timers. I think the only thing currently holding it back is it's graphical interface. Both confusing and non-user friendly; it lacks real customization and is in dire need of being reconstructed. I see no reason why I shouldn't be able to place bars using my mouse rather than using random numbers in a trial and error effort to place a casting bar. I'll keep my eye on this one hoping for some updates. Until then I'll continue using eCastingbars and NaturECB
I totally agree with you. Up till now i have used Natur Enemy CastBar and eCastingbar to sort of fill out the blanks, but its memory consuming and not very raid friendly as opposed to this mod which is very good looking (that LiteStep skin is just awesome)
But as you very well point out. missing that user friendliness that is essential if you want a mod to be both useful and attractive. I see alot of these coordinate typing things, but they are all for individual text and bars and essentially just makes a mess out of something that should be quite simple. It might be harder to make a mod that supports click and drag bars, but in the end if its made it is so very much worth it when it comes to a mod of this quality.
Nymbia: If you want a hand on changing this mod into something more user friendly im available for help if needed. I don't know anything on the coding, but i can give you pointers in how to make it more user friendly if you wish to do it :) I can almost guarantee that it will be a more popular mod after its been altered to something more user friendly :)
Otherwise a tutorial would be a good idea if you dont want to change anything on the mod itself :) Just make sure there are alot of images in it :)
The Adventure font... anyone know how to get to it?
As for the debufftimers, is there a way to filter the dots I want to monitor? For example I dont need to see misery on my target as a shadowpriest. Would be imba if I could chose which spells I want to monitor.
