- Support for Cataclysm Classic (experimental)
- Rarity now has a Discord server!

Rarity tracks how many times you've tried to obtain various rare items like mounts, battle pets, and toys. It will tell you how likely you are to obtain the item, track how long you've been farming for it, and tell you how lucky you've been so far. Although it's mostly used for mounts, battle pets, and toys, it supports pretty much any item, including profession patterns, archaeology projects, and more.

Out of the box, Rarity includes support for every single mount, battle pet, and toy in the game which require some time to farm. It also includes support for some mount-related items like Skyshard, Primal Egg, and Giant Dinosaur Bone. It'll even notice if you mouseover a Mysterious Camel Figurine, plus lots of other stuff. Rarity factors in the size of a typical group when determining probabilities, and can also tell you if you've killed various bosses this week (or day). Holiday just started, and you didn't notice? Rarity will give you a helpful reminder to run those holiday dungeons or daily quests if you still need an item from them.
If Rarity doesn't track something you want to track, you can add it yourself! Just about everything is user configurable.
Curious what math is going on behind the scenes? The author of Bunny Hunter created the original algorithms. He wrote an article about it here. Your chance to obtain an item doesn't increase as you farm it; Rarity is just telling you how lucky you've been so far. It can be remarkably cathartic to see a progress bar move up as you spend hours upon hours trying for that Disgusting Oozeling.
Main features
- Rarity is primarily an LDB feed with a large tooltip. It can function as either a mini-map icon (you have to turn this on in the options), or as a standard LDB feed (use a display like Fortress, Button Bin, Titan Panel, or Chocolate Bar).
- Provides a progress bar, which you can toggle by clicking the icon or feed label.
- Adds info to NPC and item tooltips, showing you if it drops or contains something that Rarity tracks. Rare mobs with a guaranteed drop show which item they drop and if you've defeated them yet.
- Includes full source info, telling you how to obtain everything Rarity tracks.
Other features
- Share packs of items with other users
- Can automatically add waypoints to TomTom for certain items
- Uses statistics whenever possible to keep track of attempts
- Breaks your farming down by session, day, week, and month
- Looks at your instance locks to see if you've defeated various bosses recently
- Reminds you if you need to farm a holiday dungeon or daily quest, and hides holiday items that aren't available right now
- Supports bonus coin rolls
- Automatically screenshots when you obtain an item
- Keeps track of rare achievements like Frostbitten and Glorious
- You can add your own items to track
- Lets you modify your attempt count without having to edit saved variables
- Automatically imports data from Bunny Hunter if you're switching
Slash Commands
Simply typing /rarity should open the options menu (unless disabled).
For troubleshooting issues:
- /rarity dump displays the most recent debug log entries (even if the debug mode is disabled)
- /rarity validate checks the consistency of your item database, including custom items (experimental)

Yes they do my friend got the mount from timewalking from stonecore :)
Here is from the blue post : Timewalking Loot Changes
Timewalking bosses who had unusual drops, such as Reins of the Blue Proto-Drake, now have a chance to drop those items when defeated while Timewalking.
So if you could add that Rarity tracks the mount count while doing TW also :)
Hi, will you fix this ? =D
Yes, getting to it as soon as I get time. Got a couple "real" jobs too. :)
OK, I investigated this and the two mounts you mentioned should already be supported by Rarity in Timewalker mode. Rarity is just looking for the NPC ID, not the instance difficulty, and I verified the boss only has one NPC ID across all difficulties. If I happen to get into either of those instances in the future, I'll try to double check, but it should already be working.
I did find 3 mounts that did need an extra Timewalking flag added, but not the two you mentioned.
I'm finding that Rarity isn't tracking kills when a boss dies when you're offline.
For example, I use multiple alts for the same Rukhmar groups. Tag, alt-F4, tag, alt-F4, etc. Saves doing multiple groups and gets it done faster. But the only kill count that Rarity tracks is the character logged on when the boss actually dies. When I re-log on the other alts and loot the corpse, it doesn't increase the kill counter. I'm still saved to the boss, the wow-interface tracks the kill and saves me to the weekly lockout, but Rarity just doesn't track those extra alts.
I wasn't sure if this was fixable but thought I'd mention it anyway.
This cannot be done unless the boss is tied to a statistic. If you're offline, no add-ons are running. Simple as that. When there's no statistic, Rarity must be running to observe the kill.
I should also note that due to the way Rarity works with statistics, your method of having several characters offline while killing it also won't work. Sorry. It's unfair to expect an add-on to detect kills while the game isn't even running for that character.

Hey i been using rarity for a long time, but now when i got a new PC and downloaded it again the bonus roll box is not showing how do i get it to show?
Rarity doesn't do anything with the bonus roll box.
Is it possible to amend the Darkmoon Faire reminders to properly recognize when the faire is no longer running? I'm still getting the reminders on every toon, and the faire ended before the "day" started.
Rarity uses your in-game calendar for these reminders. If your calendar shows DMF running, Rarity will remind you. If this is in error, please contact Blizzard to fix the calendar.
how do i move the toast window? sorry i am dumb ^^
If you mean the achievement toast, Rarity uses the game's built in achievements. Some other add-on might be able to move them, but Rarity can't.
i am still failing to move it. even with moveanything. i have moved all achievement related and toast related frames to a favorable location, but this is still in the corner, over my chat/buttons. even /fstack fails to give me any static frame name for this frame to use with any mover addo
Rarity doesn't provide support for moving the achievement frames—sorry. You'll need another add-on for this. You can take a look at the Rarity code if you want to see how it does it (it's at the bottom of Core.lua). It uses code copied from the WoW achievement code itself, but it may be slightly out of date so that might be the problem in terms of frame naming.
@temp123456
I agree, that makes more sense. Due to the way Rarity is architected, what I'd have to do is turn Repeatable off for everything by default and those repeated farmers would have to turn it on. I might do that, will think on it.
@Allara
Thanks :) unchecked all of those Repeatables, 2 left showing Gahz'rooki and Jademist dancer. Also read the FAQ, was informative ;)
I just thought the default would be to show all/only stuff that people don't have already, then those extra farmers would turn on whatever repeatable they wanted to farm.
I accidently activated the progress bar - how do I disable it?
Click the minimap icon.
Okay, that worked, thanks. I had to activate the minmap icon first though...
I use rarity with titan-panel and now that the progress bar is gone I can't even reactivate it, whatever it was that made window open in the first place...
