SCT - Damage
Website - http://grayhoof.wowinterface.com/
What is it? - A mod that adds your damage to SCT. It provides a way for you to see your damage in a static location. This can be useful against large mobs like those in MC, Bosses, etc...Can use SCT animations or its on built in style.
What can it do?
- Your Melee, Spell, Skill, Periodic, and Pet Damage - Spell Damage/Resists and Damage Type (by color) - Can show damage at enemy nameplates - Target and Spell ID's - All "Miss" events (dodge, block, immune, etc...) - Custom Colors for all text events and crits. - Ability to show only target damage - Ability to Turn SCTD on/off in PvP - Four Fonts to choose from - Can disable built in WoW damage - Sliders for text size, fade speed, and on screen placement (with custom editbox) - CTMod, MyAddons, Cosmos, Cosmos2 support - Localized to work in almost all WoW clients.
How do I use it? - First you must have SCT installed already. Next, unzip SCTD it into your interface\addons directory. For more info on installing, please read install.txt. Now just run WoW and once logged in, type /sctdmenu to get the options screen or you can click the SCTD button on the SCT options menu.
FAQ How do I remove the damage the scrolls above my targets head? - WoW itself does this. You can turn it off by checking the the "Disable WoW Damage" option, or by going to the Advanced Options under Interface options.
My Wow Damage won't turn back on, even after I turn off SCTD! - You need to turn this back on manually in WoW. Go to Advanced Options under Interface options and you will see a checkbox to enable damage. Also, it is highly recommended you don't use the "Enable Wow Damage in PvP" option if you are on a PvP server.
My peridoic damage is not showing up in the combat log or on the screen! How do I fix it? - You have turned off periodic damage on the Advanced Options under Interface options. Make sure the "Periodic Damage" check box is checked, even if you have Damage unchecked.
SCTD damage is ontop of my SCT messages, how do I fix this? - I highly suggest you move SCT's message using the sliders on the SCT option menu. You can also move SCTD using the sliders on its menu. Consider placing it over you target bar.
How do I reset SCTD or load another users settings? - SCTD is tied directly to SCT. You can reset SCTD using SCT's reset button or typing /sctreset. You can load another users SCTD settings by loading them from the SCT option menu.
How do I change the fonts? - You can select from four fonts on the options page.
I don't like enemy nameplates on. How do I make my damage appear over who I hit? - Enemy nameplates have to be on in order to show your hit over the enemy heads. SCT will turn them on if you turn on the option, but you must manually turn them off if you don't like it (see Target keybindings).
Howdy folks,
I have SCT/D configured to show damage I receive scrolling vertically, and damage I (and my pet) inflict scroll horizontally, to the right. Is there any way to configure SCTD so that my damage continues to scroll to the right, but my pet's damage scrolls to the left?
That would just be sweet....right now, with both of our damage scrolling to the same frame, it builds up really fast with 5 or 6 hits all overlapping one another. Thanks!
One Bag has a new version on www.wowace.com
Don't use the old version on curse-gaming.com.
Also - how does one increase the size of just crits?
i have found the wrong working addon, onebag/onering/oneview/... because of this addon, sctd dont works
Ya, so I love SCT and I like this mod. Really nice to enable it when you're against a boss that you cannot see the top of.
One question - is there any way that your text could take on the same animation look as Blizzard's damage text? I know you're limited by what SCT does, but, hear me out. One of the coolest things that Blizzard's text does is when multiple crits happen, it 'moves' the old crits off to the side to make room for new crits. The effect is somewhat duplicated by your sticky crit option, but somehow it doesn't have the same effect. Know what I mean? Is there some limitation (to SCT or otherwise) that prevents that same effect?
Thanks, though!
Is there a way to make it show only crits? I dont want to see all the other information besides the critical hits I'm doing, thanks in advance.
Hello! I have modified like the following and it works.
-- localization.lua -- Add a text what you want to show on Reflect SCTD.LOCALS.DAMAGE_SHIELD = "Reflect";
-- sctd.lua -- Found the function named "RegisterSelfEvents" -- Add a line in this function parser:RegisterEvent("sctd", "CHAT_MSG_SPELL_DAMAGESHIELDS_ON_SELF", SCTD.ParseCombat) ;
-- sctd.lua -- find : self:DisplayText("SCTD_SHOWSPELL", info.amount, info.isCrit, info.element, info.amountResist, info.victim, info.skill); -- replace as if (info.skill == ParserLib_DAMAGESHIELD) then info.skill = SCTD.LOCALS.DAMAGE_SHIELD; end self:DisplayText("SCTD_SHOWSPELL", info.amount, info.isCrit, info.element, info.amountResist, info.victim, info.skill);
AceHook has nothing to do with it. SCT uses 2.0, so it doesn't matter at all if another mod is using 2.1. I use the latest of bigwigs with SCT and have no issues. There must be another mod conflicting.
I won't be switching to 2.1 until the TBC release of SCT.
Fudda, this is the same problem as me. This is because SCT is not using the latest version of the AceHook Lib & Bigwigs is. You would also have this problem if you were using OneBag.
Please update AceHook Lib.
i use the newest version of bigwigs and sctd from http://www.wowace.com/files/ , and sctd shows nothing, what can i do?
Can you please update your AceHook Lib to version 2.1. Your mod is conficting with other mods that use the latest Lib.
On my last sct the damage followed the target.. now it just shows over my head. Is there any way to get it back?
I got the problem that this addon doesn't show my stab and ambush crits, i dunno y, already tested different settings and relogged, still it wouldn show it
Whenever I try to open it, I get the following error; [string "SCTOptionsFrame_Misc103:OnClick"]:2: attempt to call method 'OptionTabClick' (a nil value) I can still see the damage though, but I can't customize it with the menu.
What could be causing this? (I have SCT 5.0 btw)
EDIT: Just DLed SCT 5.11, we'll see how that turns out.
What is the deal with this. On my main desktop the combat damage is very pixelated. On my 4 year old laptop the combat damage comes up very clear and sharp.
Any ideas on how to change this? I have looked around and not been able to find someone with the same problem.
How do you make the damage text appear over the target thats being damaged? The way it is now it just follows the defined damage path, but using say multishot I need to see which targets take which damage visually. Any way to enable or edit the mod to allow this?
Damage done by damage shields, such as the Paladin Retribution Aura doesnt show. No idea if the Druid DS works.
The message from the Pally Aura is: "You reflect XX Holy damage to xxx xxxx."
I'm getting the same problem as Clavical. No damage is being shown, just DoTs. Tried every combination of WoW Damage On/Off. Perhaps I'm missing something.
Thanks for the great plugin. There is one thing. It does not seem to show damage from damage auras. E.g. Thors, Paladin retribution aura, damage from silly trinkets, etcetera.
is there some option to show the glancing? also the sct menu and sctd menu still show old version
