Shadowed Unit Frames
SUF focuses on a simple configuration while maintaining the flexibility that most users will care about, preventing unnecessary bloating of the addon that sacrifices performance. While you aren't going to be able to set the health bar to be exactly 3.14 pixels outside of the unit frames, you can change options you actually care about such as bar height, ordering, frame height and so on. To speed up configuration, you can configure multiple units at the same time through the global configuration. For example, if you want to set the height of the Player, Target, Focus and Party frames to 50 then the height of Target's Target, Target's Target of Target, Focus Target to 30 you can easily do this by changing two options instead of having to do it seven times.
However, should you need a little bit of extra configuration do not despair! An advanced option is included that will unlock additional configuration giving finer control over the configuration.
Shadowed Unit Frames in WoW Classic
There is in-development Beta versions available for WoW Classic!
Note that WoW Classic does not provide all the information that you might be used to:
- There is no Focus Frame
- Information about the HP of enemies is not available, and they'll show as 100 HP
- Cast Bars for anyone but the player himself are not available
- Debuffs have no duration information
Some of this data can be restored with additional libraries/addons, but it'll always be guesswork and potentially inaccurate. Shadowed Unit Frames comes bundled with LibClassicDurations for debuff durations. Mob HP can be provided by Real Mob Health, which you need to install manually.
Note on copying your layout from Retail to Classic:
In general you cannot copy your layout between the two versions, since they are quite different, and doing so will result in certain elements exclusive to one version (like Pet Happiness on Classic) not always working properly. There are some provisions in the code that makes copying from Retail to Classic mostly work, use at your own risk - however, never copy a Layout from Classic to Retail, this will absolutely result in the Class-specific power bars and other elements not available on Classic to cease to function.

Anchoring
Are you driven crazy by your party frames not aligning up exactly with your player frames, even if it's only half a pixel off? The anchoring system will let you solve all alignment issues, by allowing you to anchor a frame to another and set a simple offset from the frame it is anchored to, or by manually setting the X/Y position of the frame.
Using the screen shot as an example, if you drag the player frame the other frames will move with the player frame preserving the alignment and spacing. Each frame can still be manually positioned wherever you want, but this gives you a way of easily anchoring and moving frames around without having to use a ruler.
Zone configuration (Disabling options/units by zone type)
Units and modules can be enabled or disabled based on the type of zone you are in. For example, if you want to see party targets and party pets while you are in an arena but nowhere else then you can use the visibility options to enable it only while inside an arena. Modules can also be disabled by zone type, if you want to see party auras while in a raid instance but nowhere else you can disable the module in raid instances only.
Profiles do not have to be swapped and it is all automatic.
Units
Supports unit frames are as follows:
Player: Player, Pet, Pet Target
General: Target, Target of Target, Target of Target of Target, Focus, Focus Target
Party: Party, Party Pets, Party Targets, Party ToT
Raid: Raid, Raid Pet, Main Tank, Main Tank Target, Main Assist, Main Assist Target, Boss, Boss Target, Boss ToT, Main Assist ToT, Main Tank ToT
Arena: Arena, Arena Target, Arena Pets, Arena ToT
Battleground: Battleground, Battleground Target, Battleground Target
Features
- Tags: Includes a simple tagging system that can be customized in virtually any way using Lua, even if something isn't included by default odds are you can make the tags
- Incoming Heals: Supports the Blizzard Events for incoming heal data, no external libraries needed
- Auras: Can be set to only show auras you casted, or can cast on others. Can enlarge auras that you casted, and hide the cooldown ring on the timers of auras you didn't cast as well to make it more obvious which ones you casted and which ones you didn't
- Aura Timers: You will need a mod such as OmniCC to show timers on buffs and debuffs
- Aura Indicators: Display colored squares or icons for certain auras on any unit
- Fader: Fades frames when out of combat and inactive (100% mana/no target)
- Class Power (Eclipse, Holy Power, etc): Supports all of the class power features from Eclipse to Burning Embers.
- Highlighting: Border highlighting of frames based on mousing over them, curable debuffs, aggro or you are targeting/focusing them
- Range Checking: Fades frames out that are out of range of you
- Exportable Layouts: If you have a layout, or your friend has a layout you want to try out you can export/import SUF layouts by going to /suf -> Layout Manager
- Profiles: You can change from any profile to another one without reloading your UI, should you want to use a completely different layout based on zone you can easily switch profiles without hassle
Pretty much all the general unit frame settings are in, health bars, cast bars, power bars, portraits, indicators and so on.
Modules
Basic module support is included, should you be interested in building a module see the documentation on github for more information.

Been chugging through SuFs config menu all day and i have to ask. Is there any way to make debuffs on target frame to start at "top right" but to grow to the left and work its way down(newer spells go to the left untill frame ends then it starts filling under the first debuff row?
The mangle, feral fearie fire and lacerates are mine and are on top right where debuffs starts(the debuff row starts just over the portrait and when the debuffs become enough to cross the buffs they migrate up one row instead and start refill the row below). http://i258.photobucket.com/albums/hh275/Crusherix/WoWScrnShot_100410_205019.jpg Like this, buffs on target starts from "top left" and grows to the right which is possible with SuF. But the debuff option shown here doesn't unless i've missed it and it would be awesome to have it again if possible.
Another example(you can see the mindflays etc to clarify how/where the debuff row grow) http://i258.photobucket.com/albums/hh275/Crusherix/WoWScrnShot_100410_204948.jpg
Another suggestion: What about adding to the Buff/Debuff settings in addition to "Only show my buffs/Debuffs", "only show curable buffs/Debuffs" an option for "only show debuffs caused by an unfriendly target" (so that I would see the Debuffs on the tank, but not the Debuffs caused by the raid) or vice versa. Would something like that be possible?

For all only reading here:
Aura Indicators has been updated for 4.0 on WoWAce and Curse.
@Stalksta
The Shadowed Aura Indicators module looks like it can give you what you need.
With the Auras it does not seem to be possible to put the Debuff/Buff in the "Center" of the raidframes, only to the left, right, top, bottom. Personally I like a raidframe design where the frames are very close to each other. Currently if I have it like this:
x1 x2 x3 x4 x5 x6 x7 x8 x9 x10
I will see a debuff player "x1" gets on top of the frame of player "x6". What I would prefer if it would be on top of player x1's bar ("CENTER"). With ShadowUnitFrames_Indicators this is possible, but the Indicators only allow specialized Debuffs to be shown not "any debuffs I can cure" (my usual setup is to use the Indicators for bossfights, and the "normal" Aura settings for any debuffs which for example can happen with trashmobs, so that I do not have to configure the Indicators for every possible debuff).
Can "Center" be added?
Thanks.
As a priest I want to show the following buff/debuffs no raid frames.
I can't seem to be able to get curable buffs & weakened souls as the options are ONLY curable buffs or ONLY castable debuffs.
Am I missing something here or is this something that is not currently supported (in which case I'll open a ticket)
@Cosanoztra They are fully working. You may have to go to the "General" on the left side, then enable "Advanced". That should enable everything.
are raid frames working to the fullest yet? i reinstalled wow completely on a new hard drive, installed the newest SUF, and i cannot change the layout like the column width/height spacing and etc
It seems the aura filter list does work. The part that confused me was the "aura types to filter". I guess you need those CHECKED to HIDE an aura. I presumed you needed them UNCHECKED with the way its worded.
Awesome addon still, ive been using it for a long time as is. With that said, is there anyway to make it LBD compatible? For broker usage would be really nice. You could click the LBD icon and select to lock or unlock the frames to easily move them.
Am i missing something or is the menu from the raid frame messed up? When you right click is gives you a limited menu of "set focus" only, is there any way to enable the full right-click menu on this frame please?
I'm having trouble getting text to fit within bars.
Only part of the text fits and the rest gets abbreviated by "..."
It seems like the only way I can fit things is if I make the text way too small or the bar width way too big.
Any options I'm missing? Please help!
Wanted to make a fast update about the aura filtering. Its just a little wonky for me now. It works if you keep messing with it, but its random. On that note, heres an error at times:
1x ShadowedUF_Options-v3.3.1\config.lua:4111: bad argument #1 to 'pairs' (table expected, got boolean) ShadowedUF_Options-v3.3.1\config.lua:4111: in function <ShadowedUF_Options\config.lua:4103> (tail call): ?: <in C code>: ? <string>:"safecall Dispatcher[3]":9: in function <[string "safecall Dispatcher[3]"]:5> (tail call): ?: AceConfigDialog-3.0-50:584: in function `OnAccept' Interface\FrameXML\StaticPopup.lua:3489: in function `StaticPopup_OnClick': <string>:"*:OnClick":1: in function <[string "*:OnClick"]:1>
@Kesitah PLEASE give a link for a fix to the aura filters =) This SUF has possibly one of the best raid frames out there, even beating Grid. But, its the aura filters preventing it from being top.
It doesnt seem to work the filters. I try to filter out Earth Shield, Riptide, and others, it doesnt work. I made sure its on the blacklist filter, and then the correct zone type. I tried many different combos, just doesnt work.
Please, please update the aura filtering.
Well, the version on the download link bugged out on some SpellId's and did not work (I just removed the problem-SpellId's, so no big work done, but now the thing works again, recently read on the Ace Forum that appearently someone else did the same already)
Ah, something else: I wrote a plugin for TitanBar this weekend. Any interest on this? I would still need a nice icon graphics for this, though (I am no artist myselves, right now I just used the icon from the TitanBar Example code). Basically the plugin calls the config window, without you having to type /suf.
@ Kesitah
What do you mean you fixed Aura indicators?
I fixed Aura indicators for SUF to work with 4.0.1. Anyone interested in this (possibly including it into the main package?)
My last post appeared like it was directed at someone other than the dev's so I wanted to revisit the topic.
As I stated, Xperl seems to have a working option to right click off buffs. I'm hoping the dev's can figure out how Xperl was able to accomplish this. If you have no plans to investigate the ability to right click off buffs, please state so. My UI layout is dependant on how SUF buffs and debuffs are arranged. If I need to resort back to Blizz default so I have the ability to right click off buffs, I would like to proceed now with it.
so i posted a ticket about a problem with Incoming Heals and it got removed o.O?
Love this addon. Orgasmic, imo. My only concern is that the raid range indicator oftens glitches and tell me that targets are in range, when they are not (or vice-versa). Thanks for keeping this updating. Don't know what I would do without it! :)
