Shadowed Unit Frames
SUF focuses on a simple configuration while maintaining the flexibility that most users will care about, preventing unnecessary bloating of the addon that sacrifices performance. While you aren't going to be able to set the health bar to be exactly 3.14 pixels outside of the unit frames, you can change options you actually care about such as bar height, ordering, frame height and so on. To speed up configuration, you can configure multiple units at the same time through the global configuration. For example, if you want to set the height of the Player, Target, Focus and Party frames to 50 then the height of Target's Target, Target's Target of Target, Focus Target to 30 you can easily do this by changing two options instead of having to do it seven times.
However, should you need a little bit of extra configuration do not despair! An advanced option is included that will unlock additional configuration giving finer control over the configuration.
Shadowed Unit Frames in WoW Classic
There is in-development Beta versions available for WoW Classic!
Note that WoW Classic does not provide all the information that you might be used to:
- There is no Focus Frame
- Information about the HP of enemies is not available, and they'll show as 100 HP
- Cast Bars for anyone but the player himself are not available
- Debuffs have no duration information
Some of this data can be restored with additional libraries/addons, but it'll always be guesswork and potentially inaccurate. Shadowed Unit Frames comes bundled with LibClassicDurations for debuff durations. Mob HP can be provided by Real Mob Health, which you need to install manually.
Note on copying your layout from Retail to Classic:
In general you cannot copy your layout between the two versions, since they are quite different, and doing so will result in certain elements exclusive to one version (like Pet Happiness on Classic) not always working properly. There are some provisions in the code that makes copying from Retail to Classic mostly work, use at your own risk - however, never copy a Layout from Classic to Retail, this will absolutely result in the Class-specific power bars and other elements not available on Classic to cease to function.

Anchoring
Are you driven crazy by your party frames not aligning up exactly with your player frames, even if it's only half a pixel off? The anchoring system will let you solve all alignment issues, by allowing you to anchor a frame to another and set a simple offset from the frame it is anchored to, or by manually setting the X/Y position of the frame.
Using the screen shot as an example, if you drag the player frame the other frames will move with the player frame preserving the alignment and spacing. Each frame can still be manually positioned wherever you want, but this gives you a way of easily anchoring and moving frames around without having to use a ruler.
Zone configuration (Disabling options/units by zone type)
Units and modules can be enabled or disabled based on the type of zone you are in. For example, if you want to see party targets and party pets while you are in an arena but nowhere else then you can use the visibility options to enable it only while inside an arena. Modules can also be disabled by zone type, if you want to see party auras while in a raid instance but nowhere else you can disable the module in raid instances only.
Profiles do not have to be swapped and it is all automatic.
Units
Supports unit frames are as follows:
Player: Player, Pet, Pet Target

- Tags: Includes a simple tagging system that can be customized in virtually any way using Lua, even if something isn't included by default odds are you can make the tags
- Incoming Heals: Supports the Blizzard Events for incoming heal data, no external libraries needed
- Auras: Can be set to only show auras you casted, or can cast on others. Can enlarge auras that you casted, and hide the cooldown ring on the timers of auras you didn't cast as well to make it more obvious which ones you casted and which ones you didn't
- Aura Timers: You will need a mod such as OmniCC to show timers on buffs and debuffs
- Aura Indicators: Display colored squares or icons for certain auras on any unit
- Fader: Fades frames when out of combat and inactive (100% mana/no target)
- Class Power (Eclipse, Holy Power, etc): Supports all of the class power features from Eclipse to Burning Embers.
- Highlighting: Border highlighting of frames based on mousing over them, curable debuffs, aggro or you are targeting/focusing them
- Range Checking: Fades frames out that are out of range of you
- Exportable Layouts: If you have a layout, or your friend has a layout you want to try out you can export/import SUF layouts by going to /suf -> Layout Manager
- Profiles: You can change from any profile to another one without reloading your UI, should you want to use a completely different layout based on zone you can easily switch profiles without hassle
Pretty much all the general unit frame settings are in, health bars, cast bars, power bars, portraits, indicators and so on.
Modules
Basic module support is included, should you be interested in building a module see the documentation on github for more information.

I have the same problem as Sicart, I logged in this morning on my rogue and druid and could not see the Combo point below the target. I have to switch target then go back to the original one to see them updated... Please fix it before tonight's raid ! ! Thanks
Also, it has nothing to do with me playing with my configuration, I actually had to go click the show the combo point bar again because it wasn't anymore for no reason.
Hi. The Target and focus power bar don't work. All power types (rage, focus, mana and energy) are colored yellow (this is for ALL units, not only these two) and when my target and focus target spend power, the power bar doesn't update, it remains full, and when I switch target and go back to the previous target, it updates to its current power but then it freezes right away and doesn't update anymore again.
Just an observation from a moonkin, the change yesterday makes it harder to just when eclipse is full. The arrow stopping before the end of the bar makes me think i've got a couple more seconds before it's full.
is it possible to have pvp flag added to target of target? i often heal off of this frame when i target an npc or enemy player in a BG, makes it easier for me to see that they are targeting a friendly
There is an odd bug in your addon and I'm going to try to explain it. Some NPC's (like the Frostwolf Orcs) have a tabard-like patch of fur hanging at the front side attached to their belt/dress. This part of the 3D model is tripping badly, it spinning around with vertexes like it's unable to find his XYZ positions from the animations. When I hide the UI with Alt+Z the flapping around stops and it becomes a normal model again. The moment I put the UI back on it starts again. I have 2 screens, when WoW is not my active window it works fine too, even with the UI on. but when I go back in WoW it starts again. After checking out every addon one by one I noticed it was SUF who was causing the problem. So I started playing with the settings and I noticed the 3D portrait is causing the problem. When I put on 2D portraits everything is just fine. So not a major bug, but those tripping pieces of fur were driving me crazy :D
Hi, I need to know if i have threat against my target , so in options if you check target threat highlight it will only show if targeted unit have threat. In highlight.lua i did folowing
And i and it works partially. Target frame highlights only after selecting target frame. Is possible to force highlight frame to update? This is working on player frame instantly, why it is not working for target frame? Could you please help me?
Hello! What am I doing wrong if my raid frames show 5mаn party w/o me? I don't see any options to show myself there. Normal raid frames works perfectly.
P.S. Your unit frames are best.
Hi everyone. There are so many pages of comments to go through, but I think I have something turned on that Im not sure where the turn off switch is. If Im in party (non raid specifically) and then I go to talk to a quest giver or start a work order, the SUF party frames show over the quest box.
how do I make the party frames go to the background while turning in or obtaining a quest or work order while in a party?
Thank you in advance
I would really like to ask and get an answer, inb4, I didn't browse all teh comments that are already here.
Q: Will you install a support for Bodyguard frame ?
Blizzard didn't think of it, though I sent them a suggestion for it, from what I know I'm not the only one.
I solved this by making Focus Frame look like a pet frame, to monitor health and stuff my Bodyguard is going through. The main issue is when I travel etc I have to click on my bodyguard again to renew the focus frame, it's not a fuss but I would prefer to use Focus frame for enemies I need to keep an eye out for. But in some areas I would rather keep my eye on Bodyguard when soloing. I'm not a coder so I don't know how to add more stuff other than from options given.
How can i dissable omnicc timer for buffs\debuffs other then mine?
Are CP now associated with the Player frame or Target frame? You mentioned Player below and while that does have the correct options, it doesn't seem to be working for me at all. I never used the CP bar inside the Target frame and it seems that the options aren't working properly. I assume all Target CP options are defunct now? They don't even show up as an overview when I unlock the frames.
For example, If I set Player CP as a bar and Aura CP as not (but both "enabled"), it doesn't show my normal CP at all and instead shows my Aura CP inside the bar where normal CP should be. This is in the Player frame.
I can't get this to play right, and it's been this way since the build that moved CP over to the player frame. I loathe the default UI and the fact that I've had to use that on the one character that SUF benefits me the most breaks my feels :(
There is an extra bar on my Paladin at the bottom. It squishes everything on the frame. I checked every setting. I can't find anything to remove it.
When having an active npc/enemy targeted, for some reason SUF is making parts of character's belts spin around wildly. I'm at a loss as to why, any help for this would be appreciated.
@itsnotemy
nevermind, the check box for hiding default raid frames was checked. previous versions was not
Hello, the newest version is causing the default raid frames to disappear. I like using default raid frames but use SUF for targeting bars. I have disabled this addon and the default frames do indeed return.
@gvainio
Hi. Same Problem here....
The range indicator is no longer working correctly. I see in the log that changes were made recently. Sometimes you have to go very close to your target in order for you to get in "non fade-out" range. I first noticed this a few days ago when my pvp target in BGs were clearly in range, but the unit frames were not indicating that they were. The check spells are set correctly.
Combo points are associated to a player now and not the target
The combo points for target appear to currently be broken. It lets me turn them on, but when I try to move them using the X and Y off-sets, it refuses to move. I normally keep my combo points on the right side of the target frame, but unfortunately it refuses to move from the left.
I do not know that if I am doing it wrong or not but I tried to setup the player, targets target frame to track boss debuffs on me or on the other tank while tanking the boss.
I have enabled the debuffs on the auras tab and checked the 'show boss debuffs' and left everything unmarked But while tanking I could not see the boss debuffs on the player frame neither on the target's target frame (like fatal strike stacks from malkorok etc...)
Maybe I am missing something but it is hard to configure this while tanking bosses.
