Shaman Warning

Table of Contents

This project is abandoned and its default file will likely not work with the most recent version of World of Warcraft. Whether this project is out of date or its author has marked it as abandoned, this project is no longer maintained.

This mod will play a sound alert when you gain certain shaman buffs/special abilities. I made this because many times I don't even realize I have them due to fights or not reading the entire combat chat.

Windfury
Trinkets (List of supported trinkets)

Trinket warning is still being tested, it should work fine with many trinkets but if you find one that doesnt work just send me a message and I will take a look!

Configuration

You can configure the alerts via the addon tab in interfaces options. They're divided in 5 categories: Elemental, Enhancement, Restoration, Trinket and Miscellaneous.

You can also load the configuration page using the chat commands '/shw' or '/shamanwarning'

Will try to keep on adding warnings to the mod.

Trinket Warning

Trinket Warning has been released to warn you when your trinket's proc (if they're able to). It scans your equiped trinkets everytime you change them to see if the ones equiped are able to proc or are not supported. If you feel that your trinket procs but you cant hear the warning (despite is on), please feel free to PM me about it and I will add it.

Localization

If you want to help with the localization of the addon feel free to use the new localization tool

Your English is fine, you just didn't give enough information so that Silmano could look up what part might be broken.

so you are getting the spells names from the other clients and entering them in?

if so, wouldn't it make sense to have a file that has the text strings of all the names and then make it so that people can translate those with their client into the correct strings for the language they use? Then they could send you that files and you can just package it with your download.

Hey Silmano!

this mod was suggested to me by a fellow shammy, so I dutifully tested it. My only real gripe right now, other than me not knowing how to configure it to be how I want it, is that I can't shift click my trinket to put its exact name into the dialogs. I don't know if you can register those text fields to be real text input spots so I can just shift click, but it would be really nice if you could...

Will post more when I test more and see things that blow my mind and make me thing of other things that would be just cool.

Yes, that would be convenient. I tried multiple times to get my trinket's name into your text box with the cursor flashing in it. I had no other text areas open and I tried shift clicking Trinkets, armor, and abilities. Are you sure you can do this? It really doesn't matter though, so don't worry about it anyway, haha.

btw, the watershield\lightning shield alert is AMAZING. I am loving never checking that while farming, since I don't have any down time either. I just refresh when I hear the sound.

Ya This is an awsome mod.
Im not sure how the new trink mod is working out for everyone else. I was expecting a sound to proc when the trink cooldown was ready but in hindsight Im not sure thats possible. I just macro'd my trinks to my LvB, LB, CL so they would constantly /use when the CD was up. Im still testing the sound so I'll let ya know what I find.

I'm having problems with another addon interfering with SW. I've turned off my other shaman addons (shields up) and I'm not getting any error msgs from any other addons. Anyone have any clue what is stopping SW?

Is it possible to put in the new engineering trinkets i myself as enhancemant want to know when sonic boost pops so i can pop another trinket if possible.

Sound for Water Shield is buffed goes off when you do Lightning Shield and visa versa atleast i dont think it should do that but i might be wrong :)

This is not working for me.. resto shaman, i have 3 items selected and never get a warning or error message. cant give any more details unfortunately.

HI, was wondering if you could add one to your add-on? since the new patch enhancement shamans have Maelstrom weapon that doesnt let you know when it pops up. that would be nice if you could add this.
