Description
Shield Tracker allows you to create highly-configurable bars to track shields / absorbs on:
- You
- Your target
- Your focus
- Your mouseover
- Your pet
- Named players in your group.
There are three modes for each bar. Select which one you prefer under the "Absorbs Tracked" tab.
- All uses Blizzard's API call that provides the total of every absorb on the unit.
- Selected only adds up the shields that you select.
- Excluding will get the total absorbs on that unit via Blizzard's API and then subtract the selected absorb types.
You will need to create the bars in the settings. You can access them by typing /shieldtracker or /stracker. You can also access them via the game menu. Press Esc to bring up the game menu, select Interface, select the AddOns tab, then select Shield Tracker. Once you have Shield Tracker's options up, select Bar. Enter a name in the Create Bar field and press Ok. You can then configure that bar.
There is a default font but you can configure the font per bar.
Known Issues
- Tracking the shields on a named player only works properly if you are in a group with that player. It's a limitation of the game client.
- It is best to reload the UI after renaming a bar.

I tested it and time remaining worked. It only shows up on the bars tracking a single absorb though. For multiple absorb bars, it just shows the total absorb amount. Showing time remaining for multiple absorbs would involve it constantly changing the current and max values of the bar and would probably be confusing.
If you’re still having issues, please provide more details. A ticket or message may also help I can miss comments.

Posted May 13, 2017Does this track the depletion of the shielding?
As a Paladin with GBoK on I let a mob hit me to 70% health and the tracker still said 81k with a full bar.
EDIT: Weird it seems to track the depletion 'sometimes'. Like in old-Karazhan (after pulling pretty much the entire instance as I one-shot the bosses), the amount recorded did deplete. But in Broken Isles the mobs would whack me I'd take a small amount of damage the first hit (thanks to the absorb). However, the tracker would still say I had 100% of the amount GBoK grants. -- I'm guessing a timing issue? Where the addon only scans the API every so often?

Posted Apr 2, 2017Is it possible to turn off the way the bar slowly unfills? I just want the bar with the seconds counting down I dont want it to slowly unfill cause its kind of like a health bar and i just find it annoying and confusing for no reason.

Posted Apr 5, 2017I thought I had an option to control what the progress bar tracks. I can look at adding it.
Another way to do that is to go to the Appearance Tab, select the Bar Color, change the alpha (the slider on the right) to 0. The Bar Color is the color of the progress bar that moves over top of the Background Color. You can then make the Bar Background Color to be whatever color you want.
