ShinyStats
ShinyStats 2.0
ShinyStats has been completely rewritten in order to make it easier to maintain, improve performance significantly and clean up the code.
Some of the new features include:
- Caching
Heavily utilizes caching of pattern results, improving performance significantly. - Toggle Colors
You can now enable/disable individual colors, as well as resetting them to defaults. - Profile and Per-Spec Profile support
You can now enable per-spec profiles! - Useful Artifact Relics
Color the Artifact Relic type based on it's usefulness to you (Unusable, Usable, Usable (Active Spec))! - Procc chance Equip transformation
Transform certain Equip: effects to more clearly state their use and effect! - Primary Stat
Recognizes players current specializations primary stat, and colors it accordingly. Eg. In the text "... increases your primary stat by 1,600.", the part "primary stat by 1,600" would be colored as Agility, for a rogue, and as Intellect for a mage.
About
ShinyStats was inspired by a mod called StatStain, made by Nymbia in 2007.
Its goal is to make various stats of an item easy to separate from each other and make usefull stats easy to distinguish.
Perhaps you would like all stats not beneficial for your class to be greyed out, while usefull stats have various happy colors? No problem!
Features
- Colors the various stats of item tooltips (including the comparison tooltip)
- Replaces the word "and" in sockets/enchants with the separator of choice – sentences such as "+25 Agility and +15 Hit" becomes "+25 Agility, +15 Hit"
- Configuration is done using Blizzards addon interface
- The color of each stat can be customized to fit the needs of the user
- The various extra features provided by the addon can be turned on/off
- Profile support
Configuration
- /shiny or /shinystats to view command line options
- /shiny config to view the blizzard addon interface controls for ShinyStats

Any alternative for Classic?
In reply to Bezdemons:
v1.4.6
Works fine in Classic.
seems i have a new account for some reason, but almost 6 years later i'd like to say thank you again for updating ;D
Could we have support for 6.x greyed out stats please? I'd rather not have to do it manually for each char. :)
how do you do it for each character... just in case we don't get an update?
By default I think the addon uses shared settings for all characters. So you would have to create a profile for each character with different color settings. Not ideal as the usefull stat chages with spec as well.
The game seems to list the "useless" stat on the bottom, below the secondary stats so it's not a big deal, but hopefully it would be possible to detect this somehow and make it grey or even invisible. :)
Hi :)
First of all, I really love this addon since it helps me evaluate items with a quick glance. However since the update yesterday it seems that something is broken, at least for me...
When I logged on today everytime I hovered over an item in my backpack, in the crafting window or anywhere else I had my chat frame spammed with (i guess) around 25 lines of info from my tooltip. E.g. 25 lines of the "buy at vendor price" or the "sell to vendor price" or the describing text line for quest items and most of the time 3-4 times 25 lines per item. :(
Systematically disabling and reenabling my addons showed that this stops when I disable shiny stats... something I really don't like to do ;) So I really hope, that there is a way to fix this. If you need more info just say so, I'll try to provide it.
Same here, and all item levels are still shown as 800 with this addon enabled.
New version uploaded. Some debug code accidently slipped past the packager... Oops :)
Glad you like the addon!
You can either disable RatingBuster coloring item level and adding item ID, or enable the setting "RatingBuster compatibility" in ShinyStats (latest update). One of those should resolve your issue.
Two addons attempting to color the same thing usually ends up bad :)
When this addon is loaded all equipable item levels are reported as 800.
I use Ratingbuster to display item levels and they are displayed correctly without this addon loaded.
There are no error messages displayed.
Also, weapon damage are not colored, but remains default white.
Hi there, any chance of an update soon? 5.x broke alot more stuff. :)
Hi Sykopat,
I haven't played WoW since early 2011. Hence, this mod has not been updated (since February 2011), which undoubtedly means things have broken.
This means I'm currently not actively maintaining this project. I am considering trying out Mists of Pandaria however, which if I do, most likely means I will pick up on this project and get it to a working state.
Hang in there,
Xiiph
Thx for the update. :)
Glad to help, Catbeef :)
Thanks again for an awesome replacement for StatStain. Cheers!
