simpleMinimap

This project is abandoned and its default file will likely not work with the most recent version of World of Warcraft. Whether this project is out of date or its author has marked it as abandoned, this project is no longer maintained.

simpleMinimap is a module-centric addon for modifying and personalizing one of the center-pieces of any UI - the minimap. the core simpleMinimap mod has these features...

* left-click and drag the minimap anywhere
* hide and move the default minimap buttons
* zoom in and out with the mousewheel
* adjust the minimap's scale, outdoor alpha and strata
* bind a key to toggle the minimap and/or zoom it full-screen
* type '/smm' for a list of commands

simpleMinimap also comes with several modules. these modules can be disabled and/or the files can be deleted if you don't need or want access to the features. they are located in the simpleMinimap/modules folder...

* Autozoom - automatically zoom-out minimap after delay
* Compass - NSEW markings on the minimap
* Coords - small frame that shows map coordinates
* GUI - dropdown setup menus (default is right-click on minimap)
* Movers - allows movement of UI frames attached to the minimap
* Pings - popup frame that shows the minimap pinger's name
* Skins - allows for changing the minimap's skin (square, corner)

I have a ton of addons, and can do some more investigating later on, but right now my SMM is not displaying many of WoW's standard built-in minimap buttons. From SMM's popup menu in the "show/hide" category, the following items are not working...

tracking buttons
mail indicator
battlegrounds
LFG indicator
voice chat

I've tinkered around with skin settings and resetting the SMM using it's own "reset profile" options, but these buttons are not showing up. Tomorrow when I'm slacking at work, I'll see if I can go through the exciting and exhilarating task of parsing my addons to try and narrow down the cause.

Calendar icon: This is now the same frame as the old sun/moon frame: 'GameTimeFrame'. Check if you have another addon (eg FuBar_ClockFu) that changes this frame too.
Calendar icon size: hmm the icon is huge by default. maybe I add an option to resize it...don't know
GUI: With '/smm gui enabled' you can enable/disable the mouseclick gui.
Tracking button: sorry can't reproduce. works fine for me
Mousewheel zoom & Minimap Button Frame: works fine without mbf...don't know what mbf is doing, must look at mbf code first
'movers module': look at picture 3 that shows an example. This frames are attached to the MinimalCluster by WoW default!!! If you want to move the minimap to the bottom do first: enable 'movers' and move frames around. Than move your minmap to the bottom.

location text and frame hide/show if login/out: sorry can't reproduce. works fine for me
Clock: this is currently not movable and there is no option in smm to hide/show it. you can hide/show this in the InterfaceOptions menu. I try to add an option to do this with smm too...if I have some time.
button move if minimap is in a corner: I can move the buttons around without problems. with any skin and in any corner... You must enable skin, so the radian can be calculated.

If you have problems with simpleMinimap please do the following:
- disable ALL addons expect simpleMinimap (and eg BugGrabber) and try to reproduce your issue
- if there is a problem: delete SaveVars (this is normally not needed, but in rare cases it can help) from simpleMinimap (make a backup) and try again
- still a problem: post

Most issues posted here has something to do with other addons that use similar/same functions as simpleMinimap (CaptureBar/QuestLog move, Calendar icon hide/show or whatever). In such a case you should disable this feature in one addon.

Mousewheel does not zoom in and out of minimap anymore. Had to reenable zoom buttons, which I hate. The only other mod I use is minimapbuttonframe.

Just a note to personally thank you for updating Simple MiniMap to work with WotLK. I tried every minimap add-on I could find prior to your update and didn't really care for any of them. This one does exactly what I needed, it simply moves where I want it to and looks the same... many, many thanks!

Any way to get around the map being linked to the pvp counter and the default quest tracking information? I would like to move my map to the bottom of my screen, but then I can't see the pvp slider. And I can't track achievements because they're only tracked in the blizzard ui, which is also linked to the minimap.

I just came to QQ about this addon breaking quest/achivement tracking like MattyGB said. I love this addon, but when I discovered it was the source of my achivement tracking issues I became very very very sad. I have to disable it until this can be fixed, Plz Halp :(

SMM does a funny thing: if activated my character frames (character, talents, profession etc.) are overlapping. If deactivated the normal behavior occurs: two character frames parallel. I'm running serveral other addons and deactivated them one by one and only SMM does that. Don't know what to do I love SimpleMiniMap for now more than a year now. Any ideas?

Any chance of making a option for right-clicking to open the calendar?
Had that on another map add-on, but had to return to this one due to some errors.
Anyway, if that option is created, this will be the ultimate map add-on. :)

I'm having a problem seeing the frame for the quest progress tracking frame. It's always following the minimap, just below it, and I can't separate them. I can only separate the achievements frame from the minimap when I enable the movers module.

Any ideas?

if you are using slDataText and have the time option enabled, it will hide the calendar as well. Just turn it off, and the calendar will show again

Looking for something else, I accidentally disabled the right-click menu. How can I reset that?

Thanks for a great addon, even if it doesn't compensate too easily for me having a room temperature IQ some days ... ;)

@lishoo - when I had that problem, it was because I had two minimap mods enabled. I'd forgotten I never uninstalled BasicMiniMap and hit Enable All on my addons screen.

For those not seeing the calendar icon, are you running anything like the fubar_clockfu that hides the old day/night indicator? Basically anything that hid THAT will hide the calendar button.

Sine it works fine for me and many others, I'd bet good money that you have another mod that is hiding it and just don't realize it.
