simpleMinimap

This project is abandoned and its default file will likely not work with the most recent version of World of Warcraft. Whether this project is out of date or its author has marked it as abandoned, this project is no longer maintained.

simpleMinimap is a module-centric addon for modifying and personalizing one of the center-pieces of any UI - the minimap. the core simpleMinimap mod has these features...

* left-click and drag the minimap anywhere
* hide and move the default minimap buttons
* zoom in and out with the mousewheel
* adjust the minimap's scale, outdoor alpha and strata
* bind a key to toggle the minimap and/or zoom it full-screen
* type '/smm' for a list of commands

simpleMinimap also comes with several modules. these modules can be disabled and/or the files can be deleted if you don't need or want access to the features. they are located in the simpleMinimap/modules folder...

* Autozoom - automatically zoom-out minimap after delay
* Compass - NSEW markings on the minimap
* Coords - small frame that shows map coordinates
* GUI - dropdown setup menus (default is right-click on minimap)
* Movers - allows movement of UI frames attached to the minimap
* Pings - popup frame that shows the minimap pinger's name
* Skins - allows for changing the minimap's skin (square, corner)

A) Woot for the update, going to give it a shot in a minute.

B) The original author may have gone away for whatever reason, so you could follow the steps here: http://kb.curseforge.com/policy/abandoned-and-inactive-projects/ and see if you can take over the Curse side of this addon

Yeah, it's been almost a year since the last official update. I'd hope the Curse folks would allow you to handle this one from here on out. At the very least, the menus worked after I installed your update where they didn't before!

I've made some changes to this mod myself and I've gotten it working with the newest version of the objective tracker (which is docked to the minimap again) on the 3.3 PTR - making it movable and resizable, as well as removing the errors from the old tracking watchers that people have been talking about in the comments. Is anyone interested in the new version of the mod?

love the addon but i gets this bugsack error everytime i reload my ui and i think this is the only addon i have that uses TestCharlie

I recommend switching to Chinchilla Minimap, it has no bugs and a lot of options.

Does this addon allow the calendar button to be dynamic, like, say, the mail icon? In other words, whenever there's a new calendar event you haven't responded to, the calendar icon shows. Otherwise, it's hidden.

Also, does it allow custom positioning for things like the durability paper doll, vehicle seats, world state, etc?

Not sure about the calendar button, yes to the rest, but it is out of date and starting to fail, most is still working...

i have use this map addon for as long as i can remember and so far i have had ZERO bugs with it. i know its not been updated in 5 months but it still works flawlessly for me and i've done nothing to alter it at all.

As noted in several placed below, this addon has been abandoned by its author. I have been looking for a replacement and was very glad when I found Chinchilla Minimap. If you liked SMM but feel that you need to move on because of the bugs, this is the addon for you. Its available here on curse at http://wow.curse.com/downloads/wow-addons/details/chinchilla.aspx
