Skada Damage Meter
Skada is a modular damage meter with various viewing modes, segmented fights and customizable windows. It aims to be highly efficient with memory and CPU.
"Skada" is Swedish for "Damage".
Usage
When you first start using Skada, there will be a window created by default. This window can be extensively customized in Skada's configuration panel; click the little cog icon to access a menu, and then click Configure. Depending on your user interface, there may also be a minimap button allowing quick access to this menu.
Skada supports multiple windows. To create a new window, click Windows in the addon's configuration panel. There are three built-in types of windows - Bar, Inline, and Data text. Bar is the classic damage meter window, and is very customizable. Inline shows the meter in a horizontal line, which can be useful for integration in custom user interfaces. Data text shows just one item at a time, and can also be displayed by any LDB display addon, such as Titan Panel, ChocolateBar, or ElvUI.
In the normal Bar window, you can left click on specific items for more detailed information, and right click for less details. At the very "top" is the list of all saved fight segments. Some data modes have several detailed information views. In this case you choose alternate views by holding certain keys pressed while clicking. For example, in Damage mode, you can Shift-click a player to see what enemies the player caused damage to. Tooltips will display how to reach the different views.
You can also use window buttons for selecting fight segment and mode directly.
Scrolling in Skada is done with the mousewheel.
Plugins
Skada is very easy to extend, and there are many extra plugin addons out there that add functionality, such as:
- Skada Graphs: Adds graph display systems to Skada
- Skada DPSplusHPS: Useful add-on for Disc Priests.
- Skada Chat Frame Integrator: Integrates Skada in any chat frame.

Hi, thanks for a great addon. I would like to suggest a feature that I would love to have if you could consider it. If you could implement options for "only show in party" & "only show in raid" that would be awesome. I like my raid frames in a different position than party because of how much more space they take up, so being able to have 2 different skada windows one that only shows in party and one that only shows in raid would be very beneficial. Thanks.
The meter is picking up the damage on critters which skews the numbers by a lot. Can you either take out critter damage or have it as an option to disable that. Thank you!

On latest Alpha r629 bars are showing no text at all, just colored bars.
This may be the dumbest question ever, but I'ma ask it anyway.
Before pre-patch, my "Total" DPS was generally much lower than my "Segmented" DPS. In other words, I did far more DPS on bosses than I did overall. This made sense. Pre-potting, lust, CDs, and whatnot are all reserved for boss fights, so it seems fairly straightforward that DPS in those fights would be higher than the total number. I'd average anywhere from 80k to 100k on individual bosses, but my totals for the entire instance would generally show me at roughly 65k to 70k.
However, following pre-patch, and with the most recent Skada update through Curse, things are... backward. Now it's showing me pulling, say, 60k DPS for an entire instance, and only between 35k and 40k on each boss.
Now, I know my DPS dropped due to class changes, and as a MM Hunter, I'm in the process of replacing crit gear for mastery gear... but it still seems that Skada's reporting is backward now.
Is something broken, or have I just completely lost it?
So I seem to have encountered a strange bug. When in Gorgrond I noticed my minimap was acting funny (arrows showing party member locations getting distorted and things like that). Then I noticed my skada button had changed positions (used to be under the mag glass on minimap, but now appears on top of the garrison button).
I've updated to the latest skada and use the default wow ui. Only other addons are AA, Exrt, and DBM.
I know I can hide the minimap button, but is there also a way to move it?
Hey done if thas has been done or will be done. Is there going to be an update to calculate the total stormlash dmg for enhance. as this is not doing it correctly its making them look weaker than they are.
So when will Skada count blessing of might cast on dps as the paladins damage as it should be?
Most of, if not all ability icons are either missing or showing up as gold cogs for me.
Is this a known issue or is anyone else experiencing this?
I have the same problem
same problem :(
Due to the change of GetSpellInfo(), a check for type "number" in the SpecializedLibBars-1.0.lua creates this mess.
\Skada\lib\SpecializedLibBars-1.0\SpecializedLibBars-1.0.lua:
rows 1178-1180 delete or comment out:
if type(icon) == "number" then
icon = select(3, GetSpellInfo(icon))
end
(May as well do the same in 1162-1164, but this seems not necessary)
Thanks m8. That fixes it!
Specific request for disc priest benchmarking (especially now that their healing has dropped significantly when comparing to the other healing classes):
- Is it or would it be possible to track atonement uptime as a buff and on how many people? And if that's already possible, how to track it?
- Would it be possible to track power word barrier absorbs, as it (still?) isn't showing in healing done/absorbs?
So cannot load into the game with the new update of skada :( Not sure why but disabling it - and i can load in.
It's working fine for me. Did you reset you're ui (delete your cache, wtf & interface folders) with the new patch?
I'd like to echo a previous comment about locks and soul effigy... it would be great if Skada did not register the damage actually done to the effigy. UNLESS this is already the case... in which case can we get confirmation of this? Thanks
Thank you for the update!
Please remember to update on WowInterface.com ! It's much more pleasant to use with Linux, and they have a way to notify users when addons are updated. (curse doesn't work with linux unless I add Yet Another Program to my 'work with the emulator' to-do-list, which is really a 'bug my partner who understands things to make it work' and that just doesn't work.)
