Skada Damage Meter
Skada is a modular damage meter with various viewing modes, segmented fights and customizable windows. It aims to be highly efficient with memory and CPU.
"Skada" is Swedish for "Damage".
Note: I took a tiny break from WoW (a decade), but recently started playing SoD. Be aware that this addon may not quite work yet.
Usage
When you first start using Skada, there will be a window created by default. This window can be extensively customized in Skada's configuration panel; click the little cog icon to access a menu, and then click Configure. Depending on your user interface, there may also be a minimap button allowing quick access to this menu.
Skada supports multiple windows. To create a new window, click Windows in the addon's configuration panel. There are three built-in types of windows - Bar, Inline, and Data text. Bar is the classic damage meter window, and is very customizable. Inline shows the meter in a horizontal line, which can be useful for integration in custom user interfaces. Data text shows just one item at a time, and can also be displayed by any LDB display addon, such as Titan Panel, ChocolateBar, or ElvUI.
In the normal Bar window, you can left click on specific items for more detailed information, and right click for less details. At the very "top" is the list of all saved fight segments. Some data modes have several detailed information views. In this case you choose alternate views by holding certain keys pressed while clicking. For example, in Damage mode, you can Shift-click a player to see what enemies the player caused damage to. Tooltips will display how to reach the different views.
You can also use window buttons for selecting fight segment and mode directly.
Scrolling in Skada is done with the mousewheel.
Plugins
Skada is easy to extend, and there were once many extra plugin addons out there that add functionality. However, there are unlikely to be any maintained ones currently.
There is a page with API information here.
Reporting issues
For now use comments.
I dont know if someone already mentioned this.
Skada doesnt register all sunfire and moonfire ticks cast by druids. According to the combat log, they tick 12-13 times and skada only register like the first 4-5 ticks and then stop.
Are you certain your Skada has not ended the segment before the missing ticks?
I have no idea how it is supposed to work.
This is the combat log from using sunfire once to the raid target dummy:
Your Sunfire hit Raider's Training Dummy 6718 Nature.
Your Sunfire damaged Raider's Training Dummy 3359 Nature.
Your Sunfire damaged Raider's Training Dummy 6719 Nature. (Critical)
Your Sunfire damaged Raider's Training Dummy 6719 Nature. (Critical)
Your Sunfire damaged Raider's Training Dummy 3359 Nature.
Your Sunfire damaged Raider's Training Dummy 6719 Nature. (Critical)
Your Sunfire damaged Raider's Training Dummy 3360 Nature.
Your Sunfire damaged Raider's Training Dummy 3360 Nature.
Your Sunfire damaged Raider's Training Dummy 3359 Nature.
Your Sunfire damaged Raider's Training Dummy 3359 Nature.
Your Sunfire damaged Raider's Training Dummy 3360 Nature.
Your Sunfire damaged Raider's Training Dummy 6719 Nature. (Critical)
Your Sunfire damaged Raider's Training Dummy 816 Nature.
Skada only report 24.9K damage and 2 critical. The segment stops after 6-7 sec, but the sunfire damage ticks for 18 sec.
Skada ends the segment when you exit combat, which normally only happens when you or the mob you attacked is dead.
Training dummies are an exception because they won't keep you in combat for dots, you have to continue to actively attack them - otherwise combat will end and Skada will stop aggregating dot damage. Try your test again with your character auto-attacking the dummy until the dot falls off.
Thanks, that explained it:)
can we get options to set keybinds to toggle specific modes like damage, healing, etc. so we don't need more than one windiow? would be gr8
Hello,
Skada shows my Warlock pet dmg of Darkglare and Wild Imps (from Hand of Guldan) together and call it whatever i cast first. Anybody there to help me?
Still no changes?
Is any one else losing 40 to 50 FPS when Skada is on?
i came here with the same issue, with the latest version, skada is lagging my fps during raid. its consuming as high as 11 mb of memory during combat
Hello,
You fixed the Greater Blessing of Might, which is amazing. I love you.
However, Stormlash is not yet fixed :(
Yeah not totaly fixed. Today i tested it and seen 18% of all my damage from stormlash, instead of 5-9% yesterday, but i also seen 0.1% damage of hunter by stormlash...
GBoM still nto working. There is difference between logs and Skada showings. This could be caused by more than one retribution in raid
I've not used Skada for a couple of weeks. Is it still showing the "Void Tendrils" damage from the Touch of the Void heirloom trinket as a separate entity for other players? (It should be combining it as pet damage but this only happens for the user, and not other party members.)
damage, which i given with stormlash is recorded as damage from my teammates, can u make it for my damage, pls?(shaman ench) Stormlash is increasing damage from mine attacks and 1-2 teammates attacks, stormlash damage from my attacks are recording as my damage, but stormlash damage from their attacks are recording as their damage... BUT IT ISN'T their damage((( Fix pls
If you are using a recent version, this should be fixed. However, it is a bit experimental still. Same goes for Greater Blessing of Might.
Oh, thx you so much!
Seems to be working now!
However, when linking to damaging abilities, when posting damaging abilities to a chat, it says that Templar's Verdict has a 100 Yard range.
Small bug fix for Right to Left orientation.
When changing bar orientation to Right to Left the Class icons are pushed outside of the Skada frame.
Cheers - fixed. Also reverse growth.
