Skada Damage Meter
Skada is a modular damage meter with various viewing modes, segmented fights and customizable windows. It aims to be highly efficient with memory and CPU.
"Skada" is Swedish for "Damage".
Usage
When you first start using Skada, there will be a window created by default. This window can be extensively customized in Skada's configuration panel; click the little cog icon to access a menu, and then click Configure. Depending on your user interface, there may also be a minimap button allowing quick access to this menu.
Skada supports multiple windows. To create a new window, click Windows in the addon's configuration panel. There are three built-in types of windows - Bar, Inline, and Data text. Bar is the classic damage meter window, and is very customizable. Inline shows the meter in a horizontal line, which can be useful for integration in custom user interfaces. Data text shows just one item at a time, and can also be displayed by any LDB display addon, such as Titan Panel, ChocolateBar, or ElvUI.
In the normal Bar window, you can left click on specific items for more detailed information, and right click for less details. At the very "top" is the list of all saved fight segments. Some data modes have several detailed information views. In this case you choose alternate views by holding certain keys pressed while clicking. For example, in Damage mode, you can Shift-click a player to see what enemies the player caused damage to. Tooltips will display how to reach the different views.
You can also use window buttons for selecting fight segment and mode directly.
Scrolling in Skada is done with the mousewheel.
Plugins
Skada is very easy to extend, and there are many extra plugin addons out there that add functionality, such as:
- Skada Graphs: Adds graph display systems to Skada
- Skada DPSplusHPS: Useful add-on for Disc Priests.
- Skada Chat Frame Integrator: Integrates Skada in any chat frame.
- SkadaScroll: Provides additional options for scrolling the bar displays
- Skada Avoidance and Mitigation: Helps tanks benchmark their damage reduction performance via avoidance and mitigation
- Skada for Tanks: Adds information useful for evaluating a tank's performance
- Guild Skada High Score: Let's you compare a guild's performance.
- Skada_FriendlyFire: Display friendly fire damage done by players
- Skada Player Score: Generate combined performance scores for players.

Can skada show me ungrouped people DPS, which is a feature im missing from details, actually the only feature.
Yeah I only just realised this recently for Hunters its far from accurate, used Skada for as long as I can remember, never had any issues's but recently had to switch to Details because of this issue, still have Skada installed and still believe its is the best most efficient meter but on My Hunter main it simply is useless.
This is very demanding. How about being nice to the people volunteering to write this addon
Is there a way to hide empty fights?
For example I like to look at some fights while questing and often pull mobs just for a second and no fighting happens. Happens on my druid all the time in flight form.
In the reports you can see like...
training dummy ( 1m 30s )
but I would love to see in the window title bar the current fight time, as i can only see how long i was hitting the training dummy for, after i finnished
please forgive me if there is already and option for this that i missed
Skada appears to choke on the Hunter Talent "Animal Companion." Even with "Merge Pets" selected, Skada lists a least some of the damage the Animal Companion pet does separately. The problem is exacerbated by Skada listing it in a continually growing list of the same pet on different lines.
OK, I've tried using Skada Damage Meter during combat in Classic and I can't figure out how to get it to display actual damage, aka dps. All I can seem to get it to display is something about GTFO Alerts. I ran though all of the Options I could find and nothing seemed to work. I realize this addon isn't claiming here on Curse that it works in Classic, but it has been reported elsewhere (Icy Veins) that it does.
EDIT: Finally found out that the "Skada" mentioned on Icy Veins for Classic was actually Skada_Classic which is not available on Curse/Twitch evidently. It is available on WoW Interface Addons: https://www.wowinterface.com/downloads/info25146-SkadaClassic.html
Using Skada version 1.7.6 in Classic. Everything seems to work OK so far without entering combat yet. While setting up Skada, I somehow managed to open a version window. I don't know what I did, and I can't seem to make it come up again. However, the window that opened gave the current version of Skada as "1.6.7" instead of "1.7.6."
Has this project been abandoned...? Because it has not been updated since August 2018 & I see lots of people have posted comments here & nothing has been addressed... If you have not Abandoned this project then maybe you could update this Add-on in time for BFA 8.2 & address the problems people have been experiencing. Thank you Curse for your Great work so far.
This Addon has not been updated since August last year (2018) & has been out of date now for a while... Has this project been abandoned ?
I know it hasn't been updated in a year (also posting on wowace as per the description) but figured I'd post here cause I know some people do unofficial updates:
The Brewmaster talent "Guard" is being counted as overhealing, instead of healing. Like, entirely. I don't even think it's possible to overheal with that talent, at that, as it causes the monk to absorb the damage they would stagger instead, so it's not even a true absorb shield.
I tested it on training dummies in Boralus and in dungeons. No matter what I did, it would always show up in overhealing, not in healing, despite the fact I was clearly absorbing the damage.
Can you make a version of this that works with Classic WoW? And hopefully one will be made for https://www.curseforge.com/wow/addons/rakas-skada-chat-frame-integrator too.
Hey, how do I parent one window to the other, I don't want to align it manually, I want to make the healing window to be exactly aligned next to the damage window.
Hey, I really like this plugin, there is a problem that has not been solved.
How to control the positioning and size configuration of Skada with LUA
thank you very much
Setting up a profile for my GF on her new PC and I'm unable to get the Skada window to lock in place between logins/reloads.
Doesn't seem to matter whether I have the window locked or not after I've placed it (under a custom named profile, not default).
As soon as I /reload or log out and back in, it moves to the same, wrong position every time (not the position of the initial window when you create a new one - near the bottom, left side of the Skada window aligned with center screen).
Am I missing something?
How do I lock this thing in place between sessions and between reloads?
Hey, I don't know if I'm having an issue with Skada, or if it's just normal, but here it is:
My Skada is only recording damage in a dungeon after I start attacking. Even if my dungeon members have started attacking way before me it doesn't count their damage done until I have, so I don't get the complete damage done in the whole dungeon.
Is there any way to fix this?
In reply to Forge_User_13156176:
Mine was doing the same, it also keeps telling me i have out-dated addons when i try to use it. But I think it's cause it hasn't been updated since 08/18. I switched back to recount until they update it.
In reply to Reeseycups92:
Ah okay, thanks for letting me know!
I've just switched to tinydps which seems much better and easier to use anyway.
Hi all,
