Skada Damage Meter
Skada is a modular damage meter with various viewing modes, segmented fights and customizable windows. It aims to be highly efficient with memory and CPU.
"Skada" is Swedish for "Damage".
Usage
When you first start using Skada, there will be a window created by default. This window can be extensively customized in Skada's configuration panel; click the little cog icon to access a menu, and then click Configure. Depending on your user interface, there may also be a minimap button allowing quick access to this menu.
Skada supports multiple windows. To create a new window, click Windows in the addon's configuration panel. There are three built-in types of windows - Bar, Inline, and Data text. Bar is the classic damage meter window, and is very customizable. Inline shows the meter in a horizontal line, which can be useful for integration in custom user interfaces. Data text shows just one item at a time, and can also be displayed by any LDB display addon, such as Titan Panel, ChocolateBar, or ElvUI.
In the normal Bar window, you can left click on specific items for more detailed information, and right click for less details. At the very "top" is the list of all saved fight segments. Some data modes have several detailed information views. In this case you choose alternate views by holding certain keys pressed while clicking. For example, in Damage mode, you can Shift-click a player to see what enemies the player caused damage to. Tooltips will display how to reach the different views.
You can also use window buttons for selecting fight segment and mode directly.
Scrolling in Skada is done with the mousewheel.
Plugins
Skada is very easy to extend, and there are many extra plugin addons out there that add functionality, such as:
- Skada Graphs: Adds graph display systems to Skada
- Skada DPSplusHPS: Useful add-on for Disc Priests.
- Skada Chat Frame Integrator: Integrates Skada in any chat frame.

I have done a great deal of testing and have found that Recount's DPS numbers are sometimes off by more than 1k. If you don't trust what I'm saying, you can test it yourself. Grab a mod like Combat Timer that will show you how long a fight lasts. Reset Recount. Go find a mob, write down its total health. Kill it. Divide its total health by the number of seconds you took to kill it as shown by Combat Timer. That will be a rough estimate of your dps (it will actually be lower than real dps, since it's highly unlikely that you did exactly as much damage as the mob had health, but it's close enough for our test.) Now compare your number with Recount...I guarantee you that Recount's number will be lower than yours, which is already going to be lower than your real DPS since we're not counting "overkill" damage. Or if you want an even faster test, clear Recount and then go kill a critter. The "combat" will last one second, so your DPS should be equal to how much damage you did in that one hit. However, Recount's number will not show you something even close to that. For example, I cleared Recount and then my 80 ret pally hit a roach for 2100. That's a one second combat, which means my DPS should show as 2100. Recount said my DPS was 1080. In short, Recount seriously sucks for keeping track of real DPS values.
For the record, any class can easily achieve 10k DPS. Simply use all your cooldowns in a fight that lasts 10 seconds. My hunter could probably do 20k. This was just to illustrate a point; "DPS" does not mean anything outside of its context.
The damage reported cross realm by Recount and Skada are WILDLY different. They aren't remotely close. Skada typically reports much higher dps than Recount, and I'm wondering why this is. Specifics and not general 'it sees stuff Recount doesn't' will help, because as it stands, no one believes my numbers.
I'm currently running them simultaneously so I can figure them out, but when I first started, I noticed my dps jumped up quite a bit when only using Skada. (200 points, on my 78 Warlock who only does 1000 dps, so a 20% increase is quite a bit) When grouping, the increase is almost universal no matter class, although I have noticed some variances.
I can understand why some people are preferring this over Recount. Nicer numbers. Now the why, please.
Just shadowbolting as an aff lock Skada had my dps at 2.5k when recount posted it as 1.6k (which is of course, the more exact one).
Perhaps its running them together that is causing the mix up? Either way right now Skada is showing universal dps increase.
I'm not sure whether this is a known bug, but I'm having an alignment issue. I don't have the Title Bar enabled, which results in the Bars being raised a bit over the top of the Background instead of Bars matching precisely with the Background. Also when I have both the Title Bar and Background enabled they seem to overlap. PM me if you need more details/screenshots. Keep up the good work!
I feel like this is the best I can get as a DPS meter.
I will recommend to try this at lest once and u will never be disappointed.
Ive been using an add-on called Add-on Control Panel(http://wow.curse.com/downloads/wow-addons/details/acp.aspx) which allows me to control add-ons withing the game and i couldn't help but notice Skada is listed as multiple pieces not one main add-on with plugins. IS there any way to get it nested?
EG
Skada
--Absorbs
--Crowd Control
--Damage
--ETC
--ETC
instead of
Skada
Skada [Absorbs]
Skada [Crowd Control]
Skada [Damage]
etc
etc
this will help in situations where i may want to disable skada fully with one click instead of many, also keeps the interface tidy.
Thanks!

bump, please fix it
Hi Zarnivoop, sweet addon, longtime user.
Recently, I have been asked to heal as Disc on certain encounters, and since I like to look at performance metrics (heh), I was puzzled by the low amount of mana regen from Rapture.
As an example, in the Absorbs, I had 350k, but only 12k in mana returned from Rapture. That stuck me as very low.
I thought I would throw it out in the forums just in case its a bug, but I will also go and so some controlled testing and report further. Perhaps I am nubbing it up and not using the shield spam correctly.
Keep up the great work!!!
I've got a new feature request, or better I'm going to beg for it once more :)
Is it possible to add a Raid Total DPS Bar? I couldn't get an answer to my my request, in case I missed it, I apologize. Thanks in advance!
BTW, I do linke this addon, jolly good show, Zarnivoop.
And :)
