TalentMacros
Warlords of Draenor finally introduced a new talent macro conditional!
/cast [talent:4/1] Storm Bolt; [talent:4/2] Shockwave; [talent:4/3] Dragon Roar
This should be enough for most people...
/cast [spec:1,talent:5/1] Nether Tempest; [spec:2,talent:5/1] Living Bomb; [talent:5/2] Unstable Magic; [spec:1,talent:5/3] Supernova; [spec:2,talent:5/3] Blast Wave
...however, as you can see with mages, it can get ugly when factoring in spec specific talents. Imagine if you also want to use a different buff with each talent based on spec, ew.
TalentMacros keeps it simple!
Use /talentmacros
to open the config and create the auto-updating general macros (t1-7 and tpvp1-3) or customize the macro used for each talent. You can put whatever you want for each talent, including another spell, or item, or whatever for passives.
The default macro for every talent is simply:
#showtooltip
/cast talent name
Also supports PvP talents! If you're missing the pvp macros, just hit the "Create Macros" button in the config.
Are there any update plans for Dragonflight?

I really, really hope so. I've used this addon for years.
I had considered this EOL with the new talent loadout system and hadn't really thought much about updating. Each loadout saves the action bar button layout so you don't need to juggle spells with macros, you can just put them on your bars and they'll swap when you change.
So the question is: What issue are you looking to solve now?
Edit: PvP talents is one answer, I suppose. but not being able to support them properly (have them look disabled when they're not enabled/available) has always been an annoyance of mine

saving ability placements isnt good enough (speaking of the default UI) when everyone macros everything anyways. I was thinking about this addon, i cant even begin to imagine how you would make it work for DF talents. 10 rows of 3 choices is1 thing, 100 different talents are a whole different ball game lol

If you use the shared bars because you want a consistent button layout over all your loadouts.
You don't want to adjust maybe X talent loadouts just becasue you decide to change 1 keybind.
You use the shared bars and then this addon could help by taking care of just the choice nodes.
Putting the addon macros into the account wide macro section and swapping them based on spec and choice in the choice nodes.
Instead of cluttering the character macro section with a dozen of macros for potential special uses.
I would love if you could add Covenant abilities as a macro option. Having to drag and drop my covenant abilities when i switch covenants is super annoying
Hi, for PvP talent macros, the icons do not update properly. For example as a Monk, my third PvP talent selected is Alpha Tiger but I've set Talentmacros to do #showtooltip Expel Harm when I have Alpha Tiger picked. It still shows the icon of Alpha Tiger with the cooldown spiral for Expel Harm.
Works for regular talents.
Love your addon. How can I edit the macro text?
Hi. Thanks for your work - we all really appreciate it)
To my pity, the addon doesn't work correctly for me recently. My macroses for different specs began to rewrite each other, if the talents for specs are the same. I tried to save different profiles for each spec - It didn't work. Could you please try to repair this issue?)
Thanks in advance,
Regards.
Sorry I just saw your comment. Since the macros are saved based on their talent id, you'll have to use [spec:1] (etc) to do spec specific things for shared talents.
i have an issue that whenever i relog other characters it creates duplicate macros that are just empty and i have to delete/move the new one out etc
The macros are only ever created when you click the button to create them in options. They are ment to be shared general macros, you shouldn't be touching them. I'm not sure what you mean by "move the new one out", but it probably isn't good.
When you log out of a character they are cleared, and when you log into a character they are set to whatever is saved for that character.
is there a way to have a grayed out icon instead of a question mark for active talents that werent taken?
Nope, unfortunately macros don't get that effect when a spell they want to show doesn't exist anymore and I can't do anything to the texture it uses :(
Finally added PVP talents in v1.1.6 :O
Can you add the pvp talents for this addon too?
Thanks for the useful addon! Even works for different languages.
Any chance the macros could be made character specific? Also, is there anyway to remove the macro name from the icon without breaking it?
Are you running out of global macros or something? char specific macros would be pretty silly, imo. I know you can hide macro text per bar with Bartender, no idea what other options/addons are available.
