TinyTip
<font>Please delete your all your TinyTip folders before upgrading to the latest version</font>
What is TinyTip? Well, it started out as just a simple upgrade over AF_Tooltip_Mini and exploded from there. Now it shares no code with what it used to be, becoming something more, while still staying true to its name. The core of TinyTip is basically just an upgrade over AF_Tooltip_Mini, a small file around 24KB. The more modules you allow to load, the more this value increases. The goal of TinyTip is to allow you to mix and match your modules while keeping the smallest memory footprint possible. All files except TinyTip.lua and its locale files are optional. You can take a look below, I've listed the optional files as "not required". If you don't use a file's features, you can safely remove it from the TOC.
Anyway, as you can guess, TinyTip changes the look of your GameTooltip. Here are the features found in core:

Q: TinyTip is preventing another tooltip addon from working.
A: Go into that other addon's TOC file and add/change this line to include TinyTip.
## OptionalDeps:
Q: I'm getting an error from TinyTip, or an option isn't working right.
A: 1) Check my WoWI portal to see if it's a known issue, and for updates.
2) Maybe your files are corrupt. Delete TinyTip, TinyTipExtras, and TinyTipOptions, then re-download them and install from stratch.
3) Your Saved Variable database may have gotten corrupt somehow. Try using /tinytip default and then /tinytip confirm to reset it.
4) If resetting your options doesn't work, exit WoW, delete all your Saved Variable files for TinyTip (global and per character), then restart WoW.
5) Leave a bug report on my WoWI portal.
Q: Where's the secret cow option?
A: There is no secret cow option.
For faction leaders, there's a tooltip line that just says "Leader", and TinyTip displays it incorrectly.
Another thing I think would be nice: when you hover your target frame (your target's portrait), instead of showing the player options or whatever it's currently showing, could it show the unit tooltip? Thanks!
Hi there and thanks for this addon. I was wondering if you had plans to add realm names to tooltips... As of 1.12, UnitName(unit) returns both the unit's name and its realm (nil if same realm or unit out of range or NPC).
Also, would it be possible to move the guild name to the second line rather than third line? Currently it's showing: Knight Soandso Level 20 Human Warrior <Elite Guild>
I'm used to seeing it as Knight Soandso <Elite Guild> Level 20 Human Warrior
and it would be much appreciated if I could reformat it this way :)
...ok i tested all of my mods and found the culprit. i had a mod named fizzwidget guildentipper that was adding the guild name to the tooltip. i never noticed it because it came as part of a mod pack. anyway, took care of the double guild names and (i think) the two tooltips, but i commonly hover over a toon and do not see the guild name display... but if i move away and back a couple times the guild name will show. nothing that i can not live without but thought i would mention it.
Well before I gripe about something the mod is not doing for me, let me just say, this is a great mod and a very good substitute for TipBuddy which is apparently no longer in development. One thing that is driving me nuts about this mod, however, is that it is showing guild names twice like the example below:
[R1] CharName <Guild Name> Level 60 Dwarf Priest <Guild Name>
...and quite often, when I leave the mouse hovering over that same person for a couple more seconds or move it away and back over, I will get a tooltip that only shows the top two lines above, like this:
[R1] CharName <Guild Name>
Any suggestions on what might be causing that? Is anyone having this issue?
Currently my little workaround appears to be working ok and I have the following Ace2 addons installed:
BigWigs FuBar FuBar-VolumeFu Tinytip XRaidStatus
Note: I copied the file from FuBar into the other addon directories
@Darklink
This appears to be a "weaknesss" with Ace2 addons at the moment and has to do with the way the libraries are embedded. If you have 2 [Ace2] addons then the system will load both sets of libraries and then "discard" the older one. So if an addon was written using an older library it may no longer function correctly with the newer one :(
As a temporary workaround, copy the AceOO-2.0.lua file of your OLDEST Ace2 addon into the relevant directory (usually libs\AceOO-2.0) of your other Ace2 addons.
Edited due to the original workaround being rubbish :p
BIG bad error with 1.4.11 on login
Count: 1 Error: Interface\AddOns\FuBar\FuBar_Panel.lua:110: AceOO-2.0: Improper self passed to init. You must do MyClass.super.prototype.init(self, ...)
Yes fubar, and when i disable tinytip or go back to 1.4.10, everything is working fine again.
I'm having an issue with MobInfo2 ... it is showing multiple infos when i mouseover an enemy... like it says "level, hp, name" etc. 5 to 6 times on each tooltip. This also causes the game to hiccup about a second each time i mouseover.
I take it back, reloaded and things work great. Is there a way to color the background of the tooltip with the reaction and the color of the enemy name with the difficulty?
one other thing, I currently use MI2 but would like to switch to MobHealth3. Any way I could convince you to add MH3 support to tinytip? all I want is to see the health of the mobs in the tooltip when i mouseover them.
It still reset scale now and then. Other settings don't.
I also got the stack overflow error when I tried some settings.
loading error with .10
Error: stack overflow File: Interface\AddOns\TinyTip\TinyTip.lua Line: 715 Count: 3
--
switched back to .9, no startup errors
I am still getting an issue when using auctioneer with tinytip v1.4.10. With anchoring set to cursor, the auctioneer data tooltip is disconnected from the item tooltip when mousing over items in my inventory - they overlap each other, making it difficult to read.
Scaling does NOT work if you relog : /
TinyTip/lua:715:stack overflow
I'm getting this window popping up ever since changing the settings. Might have been after enabling the PvP icon. I tried disabling it but window still pops up.
Tipbuddy.lua Line: 750 Stack overflow
after I enabled PVP Icon
Love this addon and have already used it to replace TipBuddy.
One request: The guild/Friends colouring is a bit too subtle and difficult to see quickly when cursoring over them. Any chance of having an option to set the background colour to something that "stands out" a little more?
I am getting an issue when unit anchoring set to "cursor" option. If I have my cursor over a player and then move to an item in my backpack, the tooltip centers to the mouse pointer, but my auctioneer tooltip that is usually anchored to the bottom of the item information, is right over top of the item tooltip making it very difficult to read.
I can temporarily fix this by going to an item on my action bar, then going to the item in my backpack - the information boxes stack correctly. But as soon as a mouseover another player, the next time I examine an item the issue returns.
When unit anchoring is set to anything but "cursor", this issue doesn't occur.
My custom scale setting also resets back to 100% every time I play the game.
If these two issues were fixed, I would absolutely dump TipBuddy for this. Great addon!
nice and small, but with a few errors:
1) Scale is not remembered, must be set each time. Although the bar is on 86%, I have to click it for the scale to be actually set. So maybe the setting is remembered but not applied on each startup?
2) The same with positions of unit and frames: All settings are remembered, but tootlips appear some other place (for me, bottom right). I have to open tinytip, and click the anchoring option I want (even though it is already selected) and then it pops to the correct place, including offsets. So again, settings seems to be preserved but not applied.
3) I'm using both MonkeyQuest and MobInfo2. MobInfo2's info shows up in my TinyTip just fine, but nothing from MonkeyQuest.

Nice addon, I like it. However, some lines doesn't show up aligned like the others; 'Civilian' and 'Resurrectable' (for dead party members) for example. I thought I'd let you know.
1. Great, everything is working for me. I am not using any scaling, so I can't say anything about it. For me everything works great.
I have a request :) PLEASE! Don't overload this nice addon with functions, in the end it will end like TipBuddy.
The current features are nice, some little additions and tweaks are enough.
But this are just my thoughts :)
2. Please add the english changes to the other languages (u DON'T need to translate it). But it is anoying always to change the language-"tab", because curse-gaming detects the own language and automatically changes it (for me german).
Bye, tec
