I'll see what I can do about the images thou I'm not sure if all the details written on the maps will be clear on the maps then, but that can be written into an note instead so I would have the opportunity to resize to half of the size they are now.
well it's time for me to hit the sag. need to be at work in 5 hours :S
Kind regards Satisfyme
@Zidomo Well, as far as the "(shouldn't have gone out like that in the first place, but hey)" part of your statement goes, you've been around here long enough to know that this is a development site. These are at best beta releases (actually alpha).
I agree that the resolution of the map files is excessive. I just got to look at them today as well. But to speak as though static size is a great addon sin is just ignorant.
Not sure if others would agree, but, to me, your tone is just incredibly negative and snotty. Any problems and suggestions should have gone into the Ticket system as requested and is customary. You've used the feature on other addons in the past. So, why is it that you chose to instead spew bile in the comments rather than put in a helpful ticket?
Nice idea for a mod. And glad you fixed the WoW-freeze bug (shouldn't have gone out like that in the first place, but hey).
One big problem: the gigantic TGA image files you include with this for some reason. This wins the award for the biggest ZIP mod download I've ever seen. Which includes literally thousands of mods over many years.
38.2 MB in size. It far & away beats the next largest I've ever downloaded: "Emerald-UI_v12.3_COMPLETE.zip" mod compilation (circa 2006) at 27 MB.
Resize those TGA files to something more reasonable? Or take them out and provide them in a separate download? Right now the download is so gigantic that it can actually have a negative cumulative effect on those people who are on a capped internet plan.
small bug fix witch caused an error when using auto learn function
Small update: Lockpicking removed
Enchanting Updated Alliance side
Cooking Done both side
Fish & Cook Done both side
Actually I just found out yesterday about it was an enchanting guide so I changed the project description as fast that I could, since it was set to Enginering :( My bad
Correction, Enchanting guide is done. Engineering is on the way : P And short break was just a couple days of doing little work : P Hopefully will add a horde version of Enchanting soon, as it's just a matter of a few npc differences.
Man, where's everybody at. Let's get some feedback goin : D
Update on what's going on!
Right now the Fish & Cook guide on Alliance side is done (Might come tiny changes).
I have started on the Fish & Cook guide on Horde side and should be ready in short time since I have the Alliance guide to copy past from + I don't need to test it anymore since I know that it works from the Alliance guide.
Engineering guide on the alliance side have been done by "thebigmunch" ans is released as an beta state since he would like to have people to test it. "thebigmunch" is taking a short break before continuing making new guides.
New Commit with added MAP tag + updated example list in each guide
What profs are you using? then I might do them next in line.
Yep forgot that :P have committed again with the correction :P
Don't forget to add the Enchanting guide to Guides.xml : P
Yes, I would be interested in the map tag.
Announcement: I have just sent the Enchanting guide to Satisfyme to be added. It is largely untested and not fully complete. Yes, it gets you from 1-525, but with the desire of getting it out there as quickly as possible I did not all of the variations and options that I would like to in the future. Please, please, please try it out and tell me what you think or any bugs/typos you find in a PM. Enjoy.
Now for a short break before starting the next one.
Okay :) I'll add the Engineering to the list and flag it as in progress :)
I'm currently on hold with skill 450-525 in fish and cook since I need to level my old toon to at least level 78 before I'm able to complete it.
What about the map tag that I suggested before ? something you are interested in ?
BTW: I'm fine with just sending the file to me, to add ;)
Kind regards Satis
Yes, I'm aware of the new tags. Made heavy use of them already. I've done personal guides for TourGuide in the past. I'm a programmer and have coded a number of addons for myself, friends, and guildies. SVN access isn't necessary, as I was planning on just sending you the files as I completed them. However, if one way is more convenient for you than the other, I'll go with whatever you'd prefer. Got held up with snow, arenas, and rated BGs this weekend, but I should be able to knock out Enchanting before mid-week. Then probably at least one gathering prof by the end of the week. Hard part is getting started, then it goes pretty quick.
To be honest, I haven't used this addon yet and may never. But, this is a very good idea. I got excited about it and knew it was gonna need others helping develop guides to get it going and not fall by the wayside. I know I'd much rather just point them to this the next time someone I know needs to level something.
PS You can add Engineering to the list. I'll probably get that done before Alchemy.
nice to know that you use this trade skill addon/mod for Tour Guide :D I'm guessing that you have looked at those new tags I have added to the addon such as:
They have been implemented to make it easier to auto complete when doing trade skills ;)
I will remove the |LOC| tag since it was something I found out that could be done with the |R| tag
Another thing I'll be adding is a new button beside the objective frame is an option to show a image of an suggested route to take for grinding Mining, Herb and Skinning. Just like the image on WoW-Professions. If you would be interested in this tag to use, then give me a call and I'll set the fish and cook guide on hold until I have added that :)
Well since you are making guides for this addon, would you be interested in SVN access to be able to upload it your self or will you send me the guide lua file, when finished, so I can add it to it? You will be credited for this ;)
Not a separate addon. Just making a guide for this addon. I'm referring to WoW-Professions for some things, but I've leveled enchanting to 525 on 5 different toons (not all my own) so I have the grind imprinted in my memory. I tend to deviate from those guides at certain key points anyway.
As for Herbing and Mining, I won't be working off any reference at all likely. It's not difficult to pick the best/easiest zones.
Been awhile since I've leveled Alchemy, so that could take awhile if anyone wanted to make one before me.
