WIM (WoW Instant Messenger) is a World of Warcraft addon which brings an instant messenger feel to communication in game.

Known Issues

Addons can not process messages while chat is in lock down. To get around this, WIM logs all events and then rebuilds and processes them once you have excited lock down. During this time, chat is routed as normal to the default chat frame so you don't miss anything. Unfortunately, /r and similar keybindings to reply during this time will NOT work. Allowing the default chat frame to handle these events cause severe tainting issues and breaks everything.
Community Chat is now supported. It comes with limitations though because the sender name and message are protected and can not be read by addons or saved.

Hi,

I have a small Issue.
Sometimes when I mouseover the window of WIM to check where is somebody's position I get an error-message.

Great addon but the last updates just messed it up. If for any reason a chat window is minimized, then after some (short) time it will never open again. If I suppress the chat using the map icon, then next time I whisper someone a new window will pop as expected and WIM will work properly... until next minimization.
Conclusion : at the moment WIM has become a pain and I must switch it off. Too bad. :( Pazza, be a sweet, please make it work again :)

I dunno about anyone else...but I find when I'm in combat, and i'm whispering someone... if I click on their names and use the main chat interface to whisper something to them, my WIM window won't open up, and it eats all my whispers form then on... I just don't get my whispers after that point D:

I like this addon but I've noticed that since I started using it my computer has been choking when I play WoW. My computer should not lag at all. There seems to be some sort of memory leak going on here.

I had this issue with WIM awhile back. Not a memory leak, but a big history log. Turned off the history tracking, and it never lagged again.

For now until i can reproduce this problem, /wim -> Window Settings and check Clamp window to screen. This will prevent the window from going off the screen all together.

That's exactly what's happening. If you increase the size of the WIM window, you'll see that it's positioned way above the screen. To get it back, press <CTRL> while dragging it back down into the screen and then reduce the size again. PITA because you have to do it with every new WIM window. The Clamp window to screen setting seemed to stop the problem for now.

I've reloaded it, 2x now with the 'new' update and I've had the same problem. After awhile the window will disappear, I can still 'hear' the whisper, but no window, and the only way to fix it, I've found was to completely reload wow. I'm anxiously awaiting a fixed version. I <3 my wim. But until it's fixed, it's unfortunately turned off. /cry

Same thing here. Window vanishes. It's like it has positioned itself somewhere way off the screen or something. When I do get it back, similar things happens when entering combat and exiting, window just keeps moving up to almost off my screen. If I close the chat window via the minimap icon, I can get the whisper window back but then soon after, it will move or vanish. Was having this issue in previous versions since patch 3.3, still having it now with latest WIM. Have to disable WIM for now.

my wim windows will disapear after a while i wont be able to see any incoming or outgoing whispers until i restart wow, when i select to hide all windows i see the animation of windows coming down from outside the borders of my screen tho.

I spot checked the comments but found nothing to mention the exclusion of party leader from the party chat box, any way of combining those into one box like the guild chat can be done? Thanks
