Same issue, it happens for me after I was in combat. At the moment the add-on is unfortunately no more usable.

Please advice if possible if this is a side affect from a other framework or a bug in the tool itself.

WIM does not always intercept whispers from Chatter. And thus filters are also avoided. Hoping the author makes a fix concerning this. And ensures whispers are intercepted before Chatter.

I am getting this error randomly =(

I am curious. And I apologize if this is a stupid question.
I recently decided to re-roll Horde, and I have a RL friend on Alliance. I was wondering if I could use this to communicate with her? I don't mean to find a way to communicate with the other faction, I know that is strictly against the rules. I just want to find a way to talk to her on a private level without having to Alt-tab to a seperate outside program (AIM, MSN, Facebook). Will this addon work? And if not, does anyone know of any that would work? I'm basically just looking for a sort of in-game "instant messenger" or personal "chat room".
Any help would be great!

Try Xfire (http://www.xfire.com/), an "instant messenger" program designed for gamers! You chat with other Xfire users while playing any game, even if your friends are playing a different game than you! It does not require you to Alt-tab at all. Chat windows are easily accessed via a key combo and will appear "on-top" of your game, hit the key combo again to send the chat window to the back and continue playing!

Dude. When WoW crashes AddOn settings do not just reset. You'd have to reconfigure every AddOn every time your WoW would crash. I don't think that's the case.

And it's getting worse, as well. I got my settings in my WIM.lua.bak file, but when I turn that one into my regular WIM.lua the settings don't load correctly, either.

Sometimes when WoW crashes when WIM is active, ALL settings are lost upon relogging after that.
It's really frustrating.

Funny, cuz it's like that with all addons and not just WIM.

That has never happened to me with any AddOn besides WIM...and I crash A LOT. Particularly in Northrend.

I am also having this same issue. During Combat, whether I receive a new whisper or a continued conversation, the WIM frame will disappear ('cause I entered combat) and I can't get it to reappear by any means while saving the conversation. The only manner in which I have been able to get the WIM window to come back was to close the WIM frame (using the LDB menu) and start a new conversation. I love WIM, but this is really annoying. :(

I have been using this addon for years.

After the last update after combat I can not get the WIM window to come up whatsoever.

I know you stated that its not WIM causing this, but I am sure you can find a way to program around this.

If it is combat related what addon(s) are we finding that are conflicting with WIM?

I really love the addon! I like to organise the Tell-Hell I sometimes stumble upon, lol.
Just 1 request though: 1 report button! Laterly I get whisper spams all over the place for gifts, gold vendors, fake gm's telling me I'm banned, etc etc.
There is an ignore function, but I rather report the one whispering me so GMs can ban him. And my ignorelist grows fast. But with WIM intercepting my tells, I go into some effort to report the whisperer.
So... can there be a report button please?

First, thank you for making this awesome add-on. I have one problem and one suggestion. The problem I'm having is occaisionally the windows will disappear (as they normally do when entering combat), but I cannot get them to reappear, even if I am not in combat or clicking on the windows in the minimap icon. If I close the window with the X on the minimap, I can then reopen them. Started happening in the new version. I am not sure if it happened in 3.3.2, as I didn't raid while I had that version installed.

The suggestion I have is would it be possible for Raid Warnings to be included in the Raid window? Often times our RL will use RW to say what items are to be looted. I would say that they shouldn't be suppressed, but just logged in the Raid tab as a message is.

Very similar to my issue, as well.

I have the same problem with the window disappearing.
It always happens after a while, seems random.

If i press R to reply for the latest message I can tpye it and send it but i cant see the window itself.
I can also hear the sound when i get message from the same person but no window.

Usually it happens with one person only, whispering to others windows work properly.

This is the same error I keep getting, only when there's an incoming message though. I've actually have to disable this awesome addon because the error was causing me to miss messages. :(
