Completely broken as of 7.1 :(
To be more specific, I see window controls for each conversation, but no window nor any text. And I don't even get the combat bypass for tells any more, so I simply see zero tells with WiM active.
@mysticalos
I'm happy to take a look at things and see what I can do. Do I need to communicate with you regarding this or would I just upload my own temporary WIM fan-edit or whatever?
Hey! is it posible to add class color? I only got class color on my battle.net wispers
Just a note. wim is completely broken by patch 7.1 and I don't really have time to fix it. WIM will cease working in 7.1 until I can get around to it or until someone volunteers to help work on project, as my focus is on other things that occupy my full time.
Editing my comment because i resolved my issue, but also leaving it to hopefully help others who may have the issue
I was having trouble editing and creating new macros, and the UI was printing a message saying that an addon was blocking the functionality. Through a very thorough elimination, 4 different addons were creating individually the exact same problem. This was WIM, Opie, and the crafting and shopping plugins for TSM. As I continued to troubleshoot the issue, deleting my cache made everything work again.
@slickwalker
Okay, got that working, new problem. I have class name color checked, but everything comes out in the channel color.
I'd like to use WIM to handle all of my Guild and Party chat as well. I have the options checked, but i'm not getting any popups. Anyone have some advice on the settings? Also, is it possible to have them spawn at different locations?
Hey. My WIM chat windows dont show the player class color. but if someone types in a name of player that shows up in color. Only Battle net whispers show the player class color. but not immediately, i need to search for the character for it to show.
I am looking for someone who wants to take WIM over. It's become a higher and higher amount of stress to upkeep and has gotten to point where it's too much work to even keep it FUNCTIONAL let alone actually try to improve it any.
It becomes more and more broken each expansion and needs significant updates to really fix all the issues it's picked up over the years.
Why doesn't WIM catalog all conversations...? I had a individual harass me and I apparently cannot prove it because your mod didn't catalog the conversation.
Love the Addon since its release but have a request. Can there be an option to combine Whispers from all people that have whispered you and display them in one master window? Almost like Pidgin in grouping the chat windows together.
After the update for 7.0.3 I noticed sometimes when I first recieve a message from someone that didn't have a tab yet, the message doesn't show up, I have to switch tab and switch back to the person, Great addon tho I love it. I don't go insane from the amount of /w I have :D
What do you mean btag only? As in exclude realid and character whispers? or include realid too but exclude character whispers
or do you want to include character whispers and battletags but ignore realid?
I really just want WIM to intercept only BTag messages. Possible?
I haven't really looked into any of that myrroddin. That's a possibility,one day.
DBM aside (yay for large projects), to account for large messages, instead of directly using ChatThrottleLib, you could use Ace-Serialize-3.0, followed by AceComm-3.0, which uses CTL internally. That way the message will always be intact, in order, and correct, no matter how long the message.
I use the same trick in LibGuildBankComm-1.0 when sending the contents of the build bank.
Ok, its nice to know what you are aware of it and maybe in near future it will be fixed :D
It might just be how the server saw it, even if WIM sent them in order. WIM transmits them in order but it sends them at same time. if server doesn't receive them in order then that'll happen. it could probably be fixed by not sending them at same time and applying a delay for messages 2+, but not on top of my todo list at moment since DBM is taking all my focus right now.
Does anyone else have, or have had this problem with WIM, where if I post something long. Usually needs to be 3 paragraphs, but I've seen it happen with just 2. Yet sometimes, not often or anything, it'll jumble them about. I don't believe it really messes the posting up. Usually one is just out of place so instead of it going like 1, 2, 3, 4 it'll go 1, 3, 4, 2. It's pretty aggravating. ._.
I would check auto purge settings for history. by default, it DOES remove history after x amount of time or messages, etc. This is to avoid high memory usage from too much history. If you want to change this behavior you have to adjust the history clearing options.
unless you are saying you did disable them all and they keep turning back on. No idea why that would happen.
