Posted Oct 28, 2016Latest Alpha version is not working with Cyrillic symbols, displays ???? instead of them. Though it worked just fine before.

Posted Oct 28, 2016I love this addon. But its not working. When I get a wisp the buttons thats on the main frame move to the other side of my screen. So sad. :(

Posted Oct 27, 2016Mine was working fine until this last update 3.7.9 not only did it stop working but it blocked any of the normal whispers I was getting so I had to shut it off any idea what I can do about this hate being without my wim thanks for making and working on keeping it up to date.

Posted Oct 27, 2016DOwnloaded the r517 and r518 releases to try it out but the addon doesnt seem to appear in my addon's list or some strange reason.
Edit - Ignore me, im blind, will test out the dirty fixes.

Posted Oct 27, 2016Just a side note, for users to see the Alpha release in curse, they need to tell it to show Alpha releases, not just the current release.
In the lastest version of Curse:
You can also click on the addon, click the 3 dots in the top right (MORE), and change it from there.
Hopefully this helps more people stay up to date with the "dirty fixes" so the dev's aren't flooded with as many tickets/requests; At least until a more permanent solution can be had. Really hoping someone finds the time to rebuild this addon...it has been an integral part of my WoW experience for many many years.

Posted Oct 26, 2016I've thought of that at times.
Right now the dirty fix didn't actually fix any of the 7.1 issues. just chopped the one thing off that was causing it not to work the most. MANY other things are broken and need significant time to figure out where and how to fix. Hopefully someone does this. Otherwise things like proper scrolling and now in this patch clickable links, will continue to not be supported. Each patch another feature will be hacked off to make wim keep working.

Ty sooo much Mysticalos, This addon is one of my favs out there and really makes messaging in the game a hell of alot better.
Edit. Just a FYI, I would be fine with a stripped down version of this addon. I just love the pop up part and using it to manage messages. If you had to strip all the code out and make a basic one im sure we could get behind that to, something a little easier to manage.

Posted Oct 26, 2016That fix is available in 517. It's not an ideal solution as it should be using the user set font from the widgets that were just hacked off. None the less it'll get people by until it can get proper attention.

Posted Oct 26, 2016if i have time and can actually figure it out quickly I'll patch it. I won't do anything remarkable though. My time is heavily invested in DBM. New content after new content and constant game breaking changes too that need refactoring too. It's hard to keep up with WIM which has so much obsolete code and is in need of far more than just bandaids. bandaids get it working again but more and more stuff breaks every major patch. there are still UI options that don't work anymore. message windows don't scroll properly anymore, etc.
So if I do anything in next couple days it's just going to be a quick and dirty to make it "functional" again but not great.
EDIT I looked at it, it's not a quick fix. It'd probably take me forever just to debug what's wrong with it. So I likely won't be fixing it at all.

Why would you say "no apparent intent of fixing it"? Unless you've got source of someone saying "We're not going to bother", I would assume Mystic would put as much effort into upkeep on WIM as he has on DBM.

Posted Oct 25, 2016As others have said... broken with no apparent intent of fixing it. Unfortunately, this is a major functionality loss and replacing this addon with one that is actually supported is critical.
Are there any others out there that, at a minimum, offer tabbed whisper windows?
