World Quest Assistant
WQA helps you find world quest groups quickly and easily.
With just a couple of clicks, you can easily find and join a group, or create your own. When you are in proximity of a world quest, WQA will offer to find or create a group for you. One click of the button finds all open groups and another click will start applying to join them. Or, you can create your own group with a single click.
Key features:
- One-click support to find a group, create a new group, or join existing groups
- Keybinding support for full automation - just set the bind and then tap it to find or apply to groups, accept a group invite, create a new group, or leave a group after quest completion.
- Allows you to create a new group on demand - no waiting for group finder timeouts. Open up your quest to others without having to wait for a server jump.
- Allows you to prefer to connect to groups on your home realm, completely avoiding server jumps.
- Can leave groups automatically after a configurable delay on quest completion, or stay in the group with a keybind you set.
- Can find groups for quests by middle-clicking their icons on the map. Handy when you're sitting around waiting for that mob to spawn! Works with both the base UI and World Quest Tracker.
Can you add Barrel o Fun quests to ignore? Thank you
Can do!
Edit: This is in.
Could you add support for auto grouping upon targeting a rare elite on the Broken Shores? Those mobs can take a while for us healers to solo. :(
I've been thinking about how I might do that - the biggest issue is the UI and how it might interact with group finding for WQs in that area, too. I'd like to add that functionality though!
For what it's worth, I clicked my keybind for this addon while in a Heroic Nighthold run on Elisande while WQ 44939 The Nighthold: Seeds of Destruction was up, and it caused me to leave my raid group and get ported out in the middle of boss fight :(
So... I really like the addon but going to disable keybind functionality until this is fixed.
Yikes. What version did that happen with? I added a safeguard to never leave the group if you're in an instance a few versions back, but I might've missed something. Will double check it.
Edit: Found and fixed the bug, next version will be guarded against leaving groups in instances in all cases.
Sweet! Thanks for the quick response. I was on 0.4.18 btw :)
This is in now.
So I cant see the buttons on my UI except for opening my map. I assume this is because I use Kaliel's Tracker for my Quest Tracker and its pressed against the right side of my screen. Is there a way to move those buttons to the Left side of my Quest Tracker?
Right now the mod only supports the base UI quest tracker. I'd like to add support for other trackers, too, though. I'll check out Kaliel's and see if I can add support for it.
Edit: I've taken a look at KalielsTracker and it looks like it's actually attaching the buttons, but KT is hiding them due to how it implements scrolling. I'm investigating a fix.
0.4.22 includes Kaliel's Tracker support module.
Thanx Very much for this fix, very nice.
i disabled the new group popup, but i don't want to see the new group icon in the quest list either. but that's just personal how i would like it :)
I'll add an option for it.
Edit: This option is now in!
Thank you !!!!
Sometimes when I do an automatic search for the quest "The Frozen King" (current worldboss) it says there's 1 group available but it's not seen as open even though it has auto-accept turned on.
EDIT: Yeah, when I click the standard Blizzard find group button I also see 3 groups instead of only 1 listed from the addon.
Very neat add-on otherwise, thanks!
Think the blizzard find group searches the raid category for world bosses, add-on probably is searching the quest category.
Going to give this addon a try since I saw it listed on MMO-C, but I was curious. What is different between this addon and WQGF? From what I see (without having tried it yet) it seems to do the same thing. Was this a shot at a replacement for WQGF when the author first said that they were dropping support for the addon after the code changes to WoW? Not a bad thing or a criticism, just me being curious since I use WQGF currently. Thanks.

Yup. I started writing it after I updated WQGF and got the "it's dead" message. :)
As stands, it's an alternative. The biggest difference will be in the UI.
to they recognize each others groups?
