ArkInventory
ArkInventory (for The War Within)
:boom: Please ensure you are using the latest alpha version if you have the War Within client.
ArkInventory (for Retail, Classic, and Cataclysm)
ArkInventory's display windows are built from "virtual bars", you assign categories to bars so that items in that category are displayed on the specific bars you want. There is no limit to the number of bars you can have inside a window but obviously you only have so much screen real estate before it becomes "too many".
ArkInventory uses several methods to assign a default category to an item such as what professions you have, tooltip scanning, basic type/subtype and PeriodicTable. You then assign those categories to a virtual bar.
You can also over-ride the default category by creating a rule that matches either a single or multiple items.
Overview:
- user configurable window width and height
- separate keybindings for each location for easy viewing
- assign items to a category of your choice (overrides the default assignment)
- assign categories to the bar of your choice
- unlimited number of bars (there are practical limits though before your screen becomes full)
- sort each bar differently if required
- user configurable bars per row
- sell junk items automatically or manually (delete available via a keybinding or right clicking when at a vendor)
- random pet and mount summons. can also assign a group of them to select from
Key Bindings:
- Press ESCAPE to bring up the blizzard menu
- click on Key Bindings
- scroll down to AddOns > ArkInventory
- bind the keys you want to use

:boom: The NoLib variant
it seems quite a few people are somehow getting the NoLib variant from their download client when they didn't specifically ask for it, instead of the full variant, and its causing issues as they don't have the required libraries installed separately. Please ensure you are downloading the full. if you see nolib in the filename then its the wrong variant, unless you are actually installing all of the required libraries separately as well. If you have to you can manually download the full variant from CurseForge, WoWInterface, or Wago.
:boom: Junk Sell getting blocked
While auto-destroy remains blocked, From 30960 onwards you can setup a Key Binding to manually sell and destroy your items. Note that blizzard require one keypress per item deletion, so if you have multiple items that need to be deleted you will need to press the Key Binding multiple times. A message will be output if you have remaining items that can still be deleted.
:warning: Ensure you have backup copies of your saved variables file
Sometimes you cannot revert back to a previous version without a backup, especially alpha or beta versions, so before upgrading please make sure you have made a backup of your saved variables file
Your saved variables file is normally located at ...\World of Warcraft\_client_\WTF\Account\yourwowaccountname\SavedVariables\ArkInventory.lua
It is your responsibility to ensure you have adequate backups of your saved variables file. You dont have to do them frequently, just after you've made major changes to your config is probably fine for most people, but you should get into the habit of making backups because when it does corrupt you wont have to reconfigure everything from scratch.
If you have your download client set to automatically download alpha/beta versions you should definitely have backups.
A simple way to back up the saved variables file is to just do a copy and paste then rename the new file (using the version number of ArkInventory or the date is a good idea), eg ArkInventory-30900.lua, or ArkInventory-20191228.lua
In reply to stevos21: right click on a warbank slot - personally i havent tried it yet but it just runs the blizzard action so it should work
I use "3.10.33 By Arkayenro". If this isn't the alpha, where do I find it?
In reply to jagmed: 3.10.33 is the release version, the current alpha version is 3.10.33-alpha-37 (but newer ones seem to come out daily).
The 2 easiest ways to get the most current Alpha are either to click the "files" tab at the top and download the current Alpha, or install the CurseForge application and have it set to automatically download the Alphas.
I recommend the CurseForge application method in order to keep this and all your other addons up to date.
In reply to Rasper1234: Oh, Tell self: "Click the Show Alpha" did the trick. Stupid stupid me. (I do use CirseForge's app and have set it to Alpha. Haven't helped me).
short Feedback from alpha-Test, rly love the way you handle the warband-bank, the switch between normal bank and warband is smooth and works fine
Hey,
Using latest alpha version on beta doesnt work? It returns me empty bags like this: https://i.imgur.com/asDf8Oq.png
If there is a quick way to make it work would be very helpful thx !
Cheers
In reply to tuwzz: looks like blizzard updated the tooltip code, will be fixed in the next alpha
is there any way to sort or assign something by expansion? I'd like to be able to group reagents based on the expansion that I obtained them in.
In reply to Bushwacker5: a rule should pick it up - expansion( number ) or the tooltip( "expansionname crafting reagent" )
In reply to Arkayenro: sweet I'll give that a shot! thank you
I'm having an issue with restack since the pre-patch. Every time I try I get the following message:
ArkInventory: Restack: Bank - Start
ArkInventory: WARNING> Restack: Bank - Aborted
ArkInventory: Restack: Bank - Complete
I've tried disabling all other addons and resetting top the default setting by deleting them in the WTF folder but no luck.
In reply to GodvanaLoL: restack isnt working properly at the moment
In reply to Arkayenro: Ah, no problem.
I donated 5 bucks, thanks for your hard work.
Alpha 33 bug:
1) Open Main Bag
2) Open Bank
3) Right-Click a Warband Bag
4) Select 'change name or icon'
5) You will notice that if you drag you 'main bag' over the 'warband icons', the 'main bag' kind of goes between the icon layer and the layer that contains the rest of the window.
I hope I explained that well enough. If need be, i can take a picture if someone tells me how.
In reply to Rasper1234: yes, its on my list of things to fix. its a blizzard frame that i just anchor to mine. i probably need to adjust its framelevel to match my window so its on the same level
In reply to Rasper1234: i tried to fix this but i think its broken/wonky at the blizzard level so we'll have to put up with it for a while
dont seem to work for me with 3.10.33 alpha-33 version
addon tab says the addon is out of date, eventhough they are loaded, my bag is still showing the default ones
In reply to lozy369: I know it likely doesn't help but the latest alpha works fine for me, perhaps a clash with another addon?
I can't use it at all: no mouse-over, no selling, nada. Do I have it i any special settings in WoW? (Using (v3.10.33)
In reply to jagmed: youll need to download an alpha version
