ArkInventory
ArkInventory (for The War Within)
:boom: Please ensure you are using the latest alpha version if you have the War Within client.
ArkInventory (for Retail, Classic, and Cataclysm)
ArkInventory's display windows are built from "virtual bars", you assign categories to bars so that items in that category are displayed on the specific bars you want. There is no limit to the number of bars you can have inside a window but obviously you only have so much screen real estate before it becomes "too many".
ArkInventory uses several methods to assign a default category to an item such as what professions you have, tooltip scanning, basic type/subtype and PeriodicTable. You then assign those categories to a virtual bar.
You can also over-ride the default category by creating a rule that matches either a single or multiple items.
Overview:
- user configurable window width and height
- separate keybindings for each location for easy viewing
- assign items to a category of your choice (overrides the default assignment)
- assign categories to the bar of your choice
- unlimited number of bars (there are practical limits though before your screen becomes full)
- sort each bar differently if required
- user configurable bars per row
- sell junk items automatically or manually (delete available via a keybinding or right clicking when at a vendor)
- random pet and mount summons. can also assign a group of them to select from
Key Bindings:
- Press ESCAPE to bring up the blizzard menu
- click on Key Bindings
- scroll down to AddOns > ArkInventory
- bind the keys you want to use

:boom: The NoLib variant
it seems quite a few people are somehow getting the NoLib variant from their download client when they didn't specifically ask for it, instead of the full variant, and its causing issues as they don't have the required libraries installed separately. Please ensure you are downloading the full. if you see nolib in the filename then its the wrong variant, unless you are actually installing all of the required libraries separately as well. If you have to you can manually download the full variant from CurseForge, WoWInterface, or Wago.
:boom: Junk Sell getting blocked
While auto-destroy remains blocked, From 30960 onwards you can setup a Key Binding to manually sell and destroy your items. Note that blizzard require one keypress per item deletion, so if you have multiple items that need to be deleted you will need to press the Key Binding multiple times. A message will be output if you have remaining items that can still be deleted.
:warning: Ensure you have backup copies of your saved variables file
Sometimes you cannot revert back to a previous version without a backup, especially alpha or beta versions, so before upgrading please make sure you have made a backup of your saved variables file
Your saved variables file is normally located at ...\World of Warcraft\_client_\WTF\Account\yourwowaccountname\SavedVariables\ArkInventory.lua
It is your responsibility to ensure you have adequate backups of your saved variables file. You dont have to do them frequently, just after you've made major changes to your config is probably fine for most people, but you should get into the habit of making backups because when it does corrupt you wont have to reconfigure everything from scratch.
If you have your download client set to automatically download alpha/beta versions you should definitely have backups.
A simple way to back up the saved variables file is to just do a copy and paste then rename the new file (using the version number of ArkInventory or the date is a good idea), eg ArkInventory-30900.lua, or ArkInventory-20191228.lua
Sorting seems hit and miss! I Set a bag to contain SKILL / TAILORING. It moves everything there except for runecloth. I make a RULE name(runcloth) to move those too... they don't. hmmmmm any ideas? This behavior seems to exist with other items as well.
yeah I noticed that too - but you don't need ot make a rule jsut right click in edit and set the ruencloth to SKILL Tailoring - the default is rep (which is preferable for any tailor over lvl 50 LOL) Seriously we get these addons free despite the work that goe sinto them - unless it's causing some major clash with something I really think it's a bit much to complain about having to hit a button to refresh or change a setting here and there ^_^
I just want to be able to upgrade my bags easily...
aka select a bag and make it empty by moving the stuff around automatically.
just drop the new bag over the top of the old one - the only time you'll have an issue is when the new bag is smaller or it's a profession bag and something wont go in it
I would like to have a rule that collects all the armor with Def stats into one bar.
Can somebody create such a rule for me please?
I've been trying to make a rule, trying to learn the code, etc. to just do one thing. I need the tiems within a category to stack alphabetically. For instance, if I have 5 stacks of dreamfoil, I need them to stack together in my herbs category, not scatter all over the place. I have read through tutorials on lua, checked the Wiki, etc but I still can't seem to make that one simple, but very important, thing happen. It did it in EngBags, which I have switch from, but even trying to look at that code and implement it in this one didn't work out for me.
Can anyone tell me what to do to perform this one task? Other than that, everything works just fine and I really love this mod.
Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.
one of the sort options, should me menu>sorting>name (im offline atm so i'm not 100% sure)
it has to set to user (?) otherwise it just sort by bag/slot and then you click on what you want included in the sort - ie you click on it to make it green (active) and then you can move them up/down depending on how you want it sorted. if the option is red (inactive) then it wont be included in the sort.
Hi Buzzaude.
This is not an AI issue. This is some information I got from Mod: EQL3_WHDB Written by Melipla:
Open this file:
C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft\Interface\AddOns\EQL3_WHDB\EQL3_Tooltip.lua
Change line 27 from this: function EQL3_New_ContainerFrameItemButton_OnEnter() to this: function
EQL3_New_ContainerFrameItemButton_OnEnter(this)
Change lin 29 from this: EQL3_ContainerFrameItemButton_OnEnter(); to this:
EQL3_ContainerFrameItemButton_OnEnter(this);

There's an incompatibility probleme with Arkinventory and Extended Quest Log WHDB
Worked fine until i install it
Issue with the new updated version actually applying the 'RULES' which I assume was meant to actually organize items without using the usual system organization. Someone else mentioned this below, just confirming it.
Im having the same issue with refreshing my bags
Well, I could swear I wasn't yesterday, but today I'm having the same issue as Ritmoon. AI just doesn't refresh when the contents change anymore. (I think I'd updated to a post 2.2 version of AI shortly after it came out, which worked well, and then I updated again yesterday, and that's the one that broke it)
Also, I have an issue where the first time I open the bag when I load up WoW, the titlebar is where I last left it, but the contents of the bag are shifted way to the right (and appear off screen).
Can you fix these, Ark? You know we love you! (I don't think I could go back to playing WoW and having to deal with my normal bag windows...)
@citizen320: http://www.wowace.com/wiki/ArkInventory Go there and read clear to the bottom. If you say back, "Well, that's great, but I still don't know how to use them", then pick one of the functions you see listed there, stick it into a rule, and see if it works. Then come back and report.
Wow! Awesome inventory Yutaka. Thank you so much. This is just what I needed to learn in order to make this mod truly shine above EngInventory. I love arkinventory haha!!!
Confirming - issue of bag content not displaying was solved for me when I disabled MonkeyBuddy 2.5.1 and MonkeyLibrary same version... Night.
I'm having trouble with the refresh button since the patch. It simply doesn't work and my bags don't organize. Anyone else having this trouble?
Hello,
If you're experiencing difficulties getting tooltips to show in your bags, then you need to check for updates on any addons you use that manipulate tooltips in some fashion. This is not an Ark issue. The most popular culprit after the 2.20 patch is LootLink. You could also try MonkeyQuest, any Titan mods that use tooltips, etc.
Confirmed. I just updated Telo's lootlink, and now I have no problems with tooltips. Also, ItemRack has been giving people problems and has also been updated. Good luck.
I'd still like to see some tips on how to utilize the rules function. And how to use formulas.
Can you give some example formulas we can use. How do I create formulas for trinkets or healing gear vs. dps gear?
Also, there is no tooltip for items inside the bag unless in edit mode.
Edit: Another problem I'm having. Some of the links are freezing up when I try to navigate the menus. Such as changing the scaling and moving categories to different bars.
Edit2: Relogging enabled me to navigate menu properly again.
Hi. Do you have problem to see information about item in your bags and hartstone. I had the same problem, and I use an addon named EQL3 - WHDB. If you to use EQL3 - WHDB go to that addon and read melipla's not.
