ArkInventory
ArkInventory (for The War Within)
:boom: Please ensure you are using the latest alpha version if you have the War Within client.
ArkInventory (for Retail, Classic, and Cataclysm)
ArkInventory's display windows are built from "virtual bars", you assign categories to bars so that items in that category are displayed on the specific bars you want. There is no limit to the number of bars you can have inside a window but obviously you only have so much screen real estate before it becomes "too many".
ArkInventory uses several methods to assign a default category to an item such as what professions you have, tooltip scanning, basic type/subtype and PeriodicTable. You then assign those categories to a virtual bar.
You can also over-ride the default category by creating a rule that matches either a single or multiple items.
Overview:
- user configurable window width and height
- separate keybindings for each location for easy viewing
- assign items to a category of your choice (overrides the default assignment)
- assign categories to the bar of your choice
- unlimited number of bars (there are practical limits though before your screen becomes full)
- sort each bar differently if required
- user configurable bars per row
- sell junk items automatically or manually (delete available via a keybinding or right clicking when at a vendor)
- random pet and mount summons. can also assign a group of them to select from
Key Bindings:
- Press ESCAPE to bring up the blizzard menu
- click on Key Bindings
- scroll down to AddOns > ArkInventory
- bind the keys you want to use

:boom: The NoLib variant
it seems quite a few people are somehow getting the NoLib variant from their download client when they didn't specifically ask for it, instead of the full variant, and its causing issues as they don't have the required libraries installed separately. Please ensure you are downloading the full. if you see nolib in the filename then its the wrong variant, unless you are actually installing all of the required libraries separately as well. If you have to you can manually download the full variant from CurseForge, WoWInterface, or Wago.
:boom: Junk Sell getting blocked
While auto-destroy remains blocked, From 30960 onwards you can setup a Key Binding to manually sell and destroy your items. Note that blizzard require one keypress per item deletion, so if you have multiple items that need to be deleted you will need to press the Key Binding multiple times. A message will be output if you have remaining items that can still be deleted.
:warning: Ensure you have backup copies of your saved variables file
Sometimes you cannot revert back to a previous version without a backup, especially alpha or beta versions, so before upgrading please make sure you have made a backup of your saved variables file
Your saved variables file is normally located at ...\World of Warcraft\_client_\WTF\Account\yourwowaccountname\SavedVariables\ArkInventory.lua
It is your responsibility to ensure you have adequate backups of your saved variables file. You dont have to do them frequently, just after you've made major changes to your config is probably fine for most people, but you should get into the habit of making backups because when it does corrupt you wont have to reconfigure everything from scratch.
If you have your download client set to automatically download alpha/beta versions you should definitely have backups.
A simple way to back up the saved variables file is to just do a copy and paste then rename the new file (using the version number of ArkInventory or the date is a good idea), eg ArkInventory-30900.lua, or ArkInventory-20191228.lua
I love this addon! It's made this whole game a great deal easier. That said, I have a problem that showed up today.
On my hunter, I of course have a quiver. I quickly discovered how to assign 'Empty (Projectile - Arrow)' to the same bar as my ammo was assigned, thus keeping empty quiver slots separate from empty regular bag slots. This is great. However, today I switched from a xbow to a gun, therefore replacing my quiver with an ammo pouch. When I placed the quiver (about half full of arrows) into an empty bank bag slot, it immediately moved all my empty regular bank slots ('Empty (Bag)') into the bar to which I had assigned my arrows, along with the empty quiver slots.
I then clicked an empty regular slot (currently in Bar 6 and assigned to 'Empty (Projectile - Arrow)'), and reassigned it to its default ('Empty (Bag)'). This reassigned the empty regular slots to 'Empty (Bag)' and moved them back to bar 1, but also moved the empty quiver slots to bar 1, and reassigned THEM to 'Empty (Bag)' as well. This effect is global, affecting both my bank and my bags. I cannot separately assign my empty regular slots to 'Empty (Bag)', and my empty quiver slots to 'Empty (Projectile - Arrow)'. Where one goes, the other follows. If I redirect either kind of empty slot to a different classification in either my bag OR my bank, the other style of slot follows in BOTH classification AND location in BOTH my bag AND my bank.
This addon has worked flawlessly up to this point, so I'm sure it's my error, but any direction you can provide will be great. I hope this explanation makes sense, and I apologize again for the textwall.
AIOB configuration window does not appear after key binding is set.
Just installed and i love the options this addon offers. The thing I really miss is a resize function. Searched and couldnt find it, so its going on non-active for now.
Open your inventory, right click the green bag on the left, select window, then scale, and move the scale slider to resize the window you are in.
I'm using Bongos with Arkinventory. Having difficulty with the frame levels of bongos and arkinventory sharing space. Is there some easy way to make certain that arkinventory is ALWAYS at top level?
I like the mod but I use it in a relatively simple fashion. I'm not worried about bars/rules/etc. I just enjoy the searching functionality. Anyway, I have a problem where whenever I loot something it's going to the bottom right corner of my bags which is supremely annoying. I'm sure I'm just missing some setting. All of my "anchor points" are top left and changing them seems to have little/no effect. I want my bags to look like this:
XXXXXXXXXXXX
XXXXXXXXXXXX
XXXXXXXXXXXX
XXXXXXXXXXXX
XXXXX
And when I loot an item, put it in the first available slot relative to the top left corner. What am I missing? Thanks so much!
items are put into the first available free slot (by blizzard), that doesnt mean the slot at the top right of ai as ai re-arranges the slots depending on how you have set sorting up.
youd need to just have sorting by bag/slot enabled instead of using a custom sort if you dont want things to get re-arranged.
Right, but my problem is the first bag (my backpack) is the one that is at the bottom. I don't have custom sorting. When I have anchor set to top left for items and sorting set to bag/slot, when I hover over my backpack in the bag changer, it shows the bottom bag. I want my backpack to be on top.
look in the config under workarounds
How the hell do i remove bugfix alerts in the chat? Im gettin bugfix alert every time i open the bag. (ANNOYING!) I dont want any alerts. Changing bagmod till i get some answers.
/ai misc alert disable
try the ai options, read the versionhistory file.
change to another bag mod though, i dont really care either way. its not like i can force you to use ai.
I will never changee bagmod. I love this to much. I have tryed other addons but i allways come back to this one.
Netherwave cloth as BS, id say its Tailoring as default
Runecloth goes as Rep, id say it Tailoring as default
Most of my repution stuff went as questitems.
default item categories are just that, defaults. most items can be put into multiple categories depending on what *you* do with them - thats why you have the ability to redefine what category an items belongs to.
Another Bug...
To reproduce: Set Main/Window/Anchore Point to Bottom right, Unlock Position in Main/Window/Anchore Point, Move bag window to bottom of screen, Click "Edit Mode" on top bar, click any of the Bar Options Buttons...
Bug: Popup Menu for Bar Option is displayed off the bottom of the screen so nothing can be selected.
Temp Fix: Move your Bag window to the top of the screen everytime you need to change your bag settings.
the first dewdrop menu is not set as clampedtoscreen (in the library, not my mod), you just live with it, shrink the ai window or reduce the ui scale. oh, you can also use your scrollwheel to bring it back onto the screen (i did that by accident today)
I found a bug...
To reproduce: Add a name to one of your bars, Change the font from standard, Increase in your bar menu "Per Row", Give this new bar a name...
Bug: Look at the font differance of the new bar and the old one
Temp. Fix: Change the font again, Now they should look the same.
thought i fixed all the font application stuff a couple of versions ago? maybe i fixed it in an early v3 beta, either way it'll be fixed in v3
Is there a way to have some Items not sorted.
I want to make a Sell bar, that I can just drag Items from anywhere else into, and then those Items will no longer be sorted.
but I can't make the bars split the "Empty Bag" squares so that all my bars have 1 empty square to drag Items into...
nope, sorting is across all bars
