ArkInventory
ArkInventory (for The War Within)
:boom: Please ensure you are using the latest alpha version if you have the War Within client.
ArkInventory (for Retail, Classic, and Cataclysm)
ArkInventory's display windows are built from "virtual bars", you assign categories to bars so that items in that category are displayed on the specific bars you want. There is no limit to the number of bars you can have inside a window but obviously you only have so much screen real estate before it becomes "too many".
ArkInventory uses several methods to assign a default category to an item such as what professions you have, tooltip scanning, basic type/subtype and PeriodicTable. You then assign those categories to a virtual bar.
You can also over-ride the default category by creating a rule that matches either a single or multiple items.
Overview:
- user configurable window width and height
- separate keybindings for each location for easy viewing
- assign items to a category of your choice (overrides the default assignment)
- assign categories to the bar of your choice
- unlimited number of bars (there are practical limits though before your screen becomes full)
- sort each bar differently if required
- user configurable bars per row
- sell junk items automatically or manually (delete available via a keybinding or right clicking when at a vendor)
- random pet and mount summons. can also assign a group of them to select from
Key Bindings:
- Press ESCAPE to bring up the blizzard menu
- click on Key Bindings
- scroll down to AddOns > ArkInventory
- bind the keys you want to use

:boom: The NoLib variant
it seems quite a few people are somehow getting the NoLib variant from their download client when they didn't specifically ask for it, instead of the full variant, and its causing issues as they don't have the required libraries installed separately. Please ensure you are downloading the full. if you see nolib in the filename then its the wrong variant, unless you are actually installing all of the required libraries separately as well. If you have to you can manually download the full variant from CurseForge, WoWInterface, or Wago.
:boom: Junk Sell getting blocked
While auto-destroy remains blocked, From 30960 onwards you can setup a Key Binding to manually sell and destroy your items. Note that blizzard require one keypress per item deletion, so if you have multiple items that need to be deleted you will need to press the Key Binding multiple times. A message will be output if you have remaining items that can still be deleted.
:warning: Ensure you have backup copies of your saved variables file
Sometimes you cannot revert back to a previous version without a backup, especially alpha or beta versions, so before upgrading please make sure you have made a backup of your saved variables file
Your saved variables file is normally located at ...\World of Warcraft\_client_\WTF\Account\yourwowaccountname\SavedVariables\ArkInventory.lua
It is your responsibility to ensure you have adequate backups of your saved variables file. You dont have to do them frequently, just after you've made major changes to your config is probably fine for most people, but you should get into the habit of making backups because when it does corrupt you wont have to reconfigure everything from scratch.
If you have your download client set to automatically download alpha/beta versions you should definitely have backups.
A simple way to back up the saved variables file is to just do a copy and paste then rename the new file (using the version number of ArkInventory or the date is a good idea), eg ArkInventory-30900.lua, or ArkInventory-20191228.lua
I just started using this mod and there is a feature that I would like added:
Bag Names can't be Left, Centered, or Right Aligned. They are always left.
-Thanks for taking the time to consider this even if you never add it.
might be able to do something
I'm having difficult getting "Pendant of the Null Rune" and "Violet Badge" to move into "Bar 27" using rule syntax:
name(Pendant of the Null Rune,Cloak of Arcane Evasion,Enchanted Clefthoof,Felstone Mantle of Arcane Protection,Violet Badge)
This is my Rule 13 with Order = 0.
Otherwise the items appear in the Default "Bar 1".
Is it possible these two items are somehow bugged?
I just move to this mod from Bagnon and was wondering if there was a way to make the bank come up; perhaps with a slash command.
yea im getting
"ArkInventory: Alert! Bug fix complete. The Frame Level for the Bag window is currently at 130 and has been reset to 2 to ensure that it remains functional. Sorry for the lag Spike caused by the fix"
also and sometimes, usually during raids, when i open up my bags the lag spike would be for like 30 second. Any chance on a solution to this problem?
not until blizzard fix the bug. you can disable the alert though
/ai misc alert disable
IMHO, this is the best inventory/bag/bank mod. I've used it for almost 2 years. Thanks for your work on it. =)
However, I too, am getting "ArkInventory: Alert! Bug fix complete. The Frame Level for the Bag window is currently at 130 and has been reset to 2 to ensure that it remains functional. Sorry for the lag Spike caused by the fix" and it's bothersome. Also, I seem to have a much longer "lag" time when transferring to bank and vice versa; it has to sit and think for a bit. Also had a couple of strange resets where I had added something to a different category and the next day it was back to default. Hasn't done that for the last couple of days so maybe that's done.
Anyway, I will keep using this cuz I love the customization. Keep up the good work. =)
/ai misc alert disable
also i seem to be having a problem with MetaHud. It is causing the Bank and Bag tabs to blend together
i keep getting this message: ArkInventory: Alert! Bug fix complete. The Frame Level for the Bag window is currently at 130 and has been reset to 2 to ensure that it remains functional. Sorry for the lag Spike caused by the fix.
How do i get this to stop
...also i still dont get how to view the guild bank log, bank tab? where is that?
/ai misc alert disable
right click on a tab icon, chose what you want to view (vault, item log, money log)
Is there a way to change the skin of ark inventory? I want to change the bag background to full clear, like bagnon or Tbag. Very nice addon, just like to change the skin. Please respond.
you could disable the icon and then set the slot colours to transparent? i think they have an alpha.
To view guild bank log you right click on the bank tab, you can then select which view, guildbank, log or money log.
I should add that although I am unhappy about one feature, this addon is by far the best addon out there for your inventory.
Seriously, this addon is nice but I cant understand why you didnt include a feature to check the guild bank log and such. I have to disable this addon because there is no way to check any guild bank logs with it enabled that I can find. Please add buttons to link this stuff where it is easy to find and use!
I've tried every other bag/inventory addon before this one, and Arkinventory is by far my favorite. I do have one question though; is there any way to disable it on a particular window?
For instance, I'm the GM for my guild and I want to be able to organize the guild vault manually so everyone without an auto-organization mod can see it as I do.
This inventory management is by far the best, deepest, and most customizable one, yet the absolute most difficult and convoluted to work with. I like it a lot, but could you PLEASE streamline the bar creation and modification interface into something less clunky? Like... a lot less clunky?
I have a bank alt that was part of a guild once, but now has a guild of its own. The problem is, that the tooltip still displays item counts for items that are stored ind the old guilds guildbank. Is there a way to correct this?
OK, so maybe I'm a complete idiot, but I can't get anything to work on Vista. I have never used it before so I'm not sure how to do anything on it. I have tried to install my addons with the Curse client but it keeps coming up with error messages. Can anyone please tell me how to do it??
Thanks :0
