Friends list improvements: notes, remembering the information of offline friends, friend list syncing and backups, and a fubar plugin for it all
Short of a rewrite it can't really be updated for 4.2. It uses tons of outdated libraries. I think most people cared about the FuBar plugin which can be replaced with SocialState (using Broker instead of FuBar).
Notes are built into the game now...
If you want sync look for Tekkub's FriendsWithBenefits.
There's some comments on the wowace side that can help you get things working sorta. But making it really work at this point in my opinion is just not worth it.
This addon has never worked for me since Cataclysm. I don't have FuBar and neither did I before, when it was working without any problems. I find it among the most essential addons in the game; it actually helps me run my guild smoothly - or I should say it used to.
If anyone, including you, Skipper70, creates a Fan Update of this addon, I am sure a lot of (silent but eager for an update) members of the WoW community will be in your debt.
1: if a friend in Battle.net entries is online, AuldlangSyne brakes down (use mouse-over at minimap button cuases LUA-errors and the list does not open at all). This error does not happen, if battle.net friends are complete offline.
2: I cant' edit notes to friend list (in WOW friendlist and in AuldLangSyne-LIst as well). This also causes LUA errors.
If an update is not planed: any possibility for myself to fix this "unconveniences" ?

They changed BNGetToonInfo() to have a new return value after realmName: realmID.
Takika, if both notes exist, then you can simply merge the two together with a delimiter, like a triple-slash "/".
Also, are there length limits in AuldLangSyne notes and blizzard notes? Will it be possible to always save ALS notes in the blizzard notes, so that even if the addon gets abandoned again, the notes will still be around?
Blizzard added a 'Set Note' feature to the friendlist (not just WoW but Battle.net friends too). What to do if a Blizzard-style note exists to a friend?
Wait what? :( Not going to be updated? I LOVE this addon, I rely upon it, why is it not going to be be updated? It doesn't work anymore, and sorely miss the functionality; friend sync, guild info at a glance (look up a Fubar immediately see which friend or guild members are on, courtesy of Auldlangsyne, friend lists with info so I can put messages in as to WHO this is and why I friended them.
What will do all of these things? Give me a panel to put in info on friends in my friend list, allow me to see at glance who is on in my guild and friends list, color everything according to class, sync my friend lists.
If you're not going to continue this, please let BloodOmen do it, he's said he was interested and would really love to.

I agree with Ashleyloveusa - AuldLangSyne is my favorite addon (the "mandatory functional - recount/omen/DBM - don't count; but this is my favorite right up there with Fubar for genuinely helpful utility (and when I'm on a utility hunter alt for mining and skinning, Feed-O-matic is another - but that's an unrelated issue lol.
PLEASE please please.... Blueabyss, let BloodOmen keep AuldLangSyne updated?
