ive been playing this game for 15 years and this is the first time i ever post and it's to say THANK YOU for everything you're doing.

i don't think i can live without bankitems. and im willing to pay to keep it up. plz sir, do you have a patreon link or something i can donate to? maybe if i throw a few bucks to the OG xinhuan he might also pay more attention. :p

this addon is my life. i've tried replacements like bagnon's item tracker and altoholic's item tracker, but they're just so different. i just need tracking across alts. that's what makes this addon the goat.

 Agreed - been using Bankitems pretty much since I found it so very long ago. A must have. Thrilled to see the updates and very much appreciated!

I'm current (updated LUA from Git) but just got this error when logging into a different character. Can try other scenarios if it'd help!

 The comparison to Bagnon is bittersweet to me, because I had still been using Bagnon, and I'm really upset it hasn't seen any official updates yet.

I've been so annoyed with it not being fixed, that I've also been trying to fix THAT addon too, with middling success so far.

I'm not trying to steal the addon away from the guy or take money or credit for someone else's work, but if I don't see anything from the author/owner by probably the end of the year, I'm going to assume this addon is abandoned and probably take steps to make a "Continued" version or something.

I definitely appreciate that other people care about as much about this addon as I do, because I really can't just sit by and let it die off.

 Looks like this was the same error someone else mentioned. I never noticed it because I always liked the item tooltips to see where things were.

Change line 8244 to this :

 Please do provide an updated version, and as soon as feasible. Since you have been trying to make contact with the original developer for so long, waiting until the end of the year seems unnecessary. A lot of us are really thrashing around without Bankitems. You won't be taking money for someone else's work- I paid the original developer when he was maintaining it, and it seems only fair to pay you when you take it over.

 I've updated the version I put on Github, and I think I got it working properly for downloading from WowUp.
I'll see if I can figure out adding donation info, it's not something I've ever done before. Then if anyone wants to donate for what work I've done, it's entirely up to them.

Edit: I added a paypal donation link on github, if people really want to send me anything.

 The issue with putting it on Curse is: The addon already exists on Curse, right here. If I want to put it here, I either need to get in touch with the current owner, who isn't responding, or assume he isn't going to come back to work on it and make a "new" addon, like "BankItemsContinued" or something. I could do this, but I'm trying to give the guy the benefit of the doubt that he intends to come back and work on this addon eventually. But he hasn't been online for 3 weeks.

 Since the original author hasn't touched this since February and shows no sign of continuing with it, I don't see a problem with creating "BankItemsContinued", with a note giving him full credit for the previous work.  And to echo Maddenzie, I would be happy to contribute to Patreon or whatever, to reward you for your work.  I find that I also am lost without BankItems.

Absolutely no idea what I'm doing, but there's an LUA error on login if you have the tooltip info disabled. Complains about line 8244. I had a look and added "--" to make it the same structure as the line above and that seems to have fixed it. Unless I just broke something else. Advice appreciated.

 Unable to reproduce this error. It sounds like all you did was comment out the line that disables the "Show only exact item matches" checkbox. I can't seem to make it throw the error, though.

Nevermind I'm an idiot and I misread this. Change that line to this :
