BG Spy

BG Spy is an enemy team talent specialization reader and reporter for use in battlegrounds.
Full team listing and specific role listing is supported.
Lists can either be displayed in the players chat box or sent to the battleground channel.

Commands:

/bgs or /bgspy and include any additional parameters:
help - Show this help screen
r - Report list to Battleground chat
f - List players of friendly team

Different list types:
s - List talent spec numbers on team
t - List tanks on team
h - List healers on team
d - List DPS on team
k - List players possible of knockback effects on team

Example - /bgs rfh - Report friendly healers

This issue is caused by the current version trying to report to a channel called BATTLEGROUND. This causes a Lua error and you likely have error reports hidden. I will address this shortly.

Yeah, so after this latest update the mod is completely broken. Yes, the battleground screen no longer needs to be open but when you do even the basic command bgs r, the mod provided the incorrect amount of enemy players in any battleground. Let's say WSG, you have 10 enemy players bgy spy will say there's say a total of 3-4 players when it should be reporting 10.

I will look into it over the next few days, until then version 1.2.2 should hopefully continue to work despite the bug with having to open the scoreboard.

I believe it's broken because the channel is called Instance now and not battleground. Should be a super quick and easy fix.

I've noticed on a few occasions (not always) that when I am in a BG (has only happened to me in Twin Peaks so far), that when I use /bgs r it's reported false numbers. For example, it would have only showed 4 Tanks, 1 DPS and 1 Healer ... and these number are way to low for a filled Twin Peaks round. Maybe it was just a fluke on my end, but thought I would report it anyway. Thanks. Next time I notice it, I will take a screen shot - sorry, didn't dawn on me to do it the last two times it's happened.

Thanks for your concern, I'll do a quick check and see if I can find anything that might do that.

If you do find it happen again would you be able to screenshot a '/bgs rs' and the scoreboard also. This way we can manually add the totals up ourselves. You may need to expand your chat window to see all the output at once.

The "Not in a Battleground." bug should have been fixed with the latest patch. Please let me know if you still have any trouble with it.

I had this add on in cata and it worked just fine. now in MOP when i type in commands it says im not in a battleground. Is there an updated version of this add on

This is a bug I have not yet had the time to fix. To get around it, just open the scoreboard before attempting any commands. Default bind is 'Shift+Space' or you can click the World State minimap icon and select "Toggle Scoreboard".

I've downloaded this addon, but for some reason it wont show up in my addon list ingame and I can't type in any of the commands. If you could get back with me on a solution to this that would be awesome, thanks!

Check the character selection screen AddOn list to see if BG Spy is enabled and not out of date.

Any chance of getting this updated now MOP is live? It still works fine for any BG that doesnt have a Monk on either side. But if either side does the doesnt give any output. Its obviously getting confused by the monk class as it isnt recognised.

I am definitely missing this in bgs. You said your working on adding a few things in upcoming versions, a quick and dirty fix would be perfect for now. :)

I've now added support for monks. Largely untested but it should work fine. Let me know if you have any more problems.

BG Spy 1.2.1

I have uploaded the newest version of BG Spy, 1.2.1. This is simply an update for WoW 5.0.4 to include the new druid talent specs.

The "Not in a Battleground." while you are in a Battleground bug still exists in this version. To fix this just open the scoreboard before attempting any commands. Default bind is 'Shift+Space' or you can click the World State minimap icon and select "Toggle Scoreboard". I will fix this bug with the next version.

With all the new skills from Mists, the knockback information is now incorrect and will be updated soon.

I've (hopefully) fixed a bug I noticed on the first day of playing in the new patch where some players race and class are missing. I've tried to recalculate this information from their talent spec but I have been unable to reproduce the error since to test if it works. It is a very rare occurrence and you can see the bug in the default UI as the player having no class icon beside their name on the scoreboard. If you do a display role command ('/bgs h', etc.) you can see it has worked if that person has "Unknown" for their race. It does it's best to fill in the blanks but some ambiguity will arise for some talent specs. eg. you might see "Example - Unknown Frost Something" which could be a Death Knight or a Mage. In this case it will count the DK as ranged. Note: this bug, and thus hack, should be very rare.

I will be adding the premade command, auto reporting and updating, and localization translations with the next few patches.
