This project is abandoned and its default file will likely not work with the most recent version of World of Warcraft. Whether this project is out of date or its author has marked it as abandoned, this project is no longer maintained.

CARTOGRAPHER HAS NOT BEEN UPDATED FOR 3.3!!!

DO NOT CREATE BUG REPORTS SAYING IT IS BROKEN!

There are no plans to do any major bug fixes for Cartographer (v2 or v3). If there is an update it will only be a minor fix. (It has already been this way since at least 2008.) Cartographer(v2) uses an outdated framework that will not be updated in the case of major breakages so Cartographer(v2) would require a complete rewrite. Neither of the two main developers (Ckknight and Arrowmaster) have the time nor desire to do this currently. Occasionally a new version might be released to include fixes made by other developers or new versions of embedded libraries.

Cartographer is a modular, lightweight, and efficient framework for manipulation of the world map. It is based on Rock and other libraries of the WoWAce community.

Battlegrounds : allows viewing of battlegrounds outside of the zone.
Coordinates : adds coordinates to the bottom of the world map of the player and the cursor.
Foglight : Shows unexplored areas on the map. replacement for MozzFullWorldMap or Unexplorer. Much more efficient, though.
Group Colors : turns all your party's and your raid's POIs into circles colored based on class, and shows a number on them based on their raid group.
Instance Maps : shows maps of instances.
Instance Notes : adds boss notes and such to instance maps.
Look 'n' Feel : allows you to change the transparency, position, and scale of the world map.
Notes : lets you put notes on the map, similar to MapNotes.
Zone Info : on hovering over a zone, it will show the levels of the zone, the instances in the zone, their levels, and the group size the instance is made for (e.g. 5-man, 40-man).

Hello, first congratulations for this great addon. I'd like to know when will you get back herbalism and mining in Cartographer please ? That was very useful. Thank you.

They are referring to the data in zones. Telling you what lvl of that profession was in that zone. Which seems to be removed. I have done everything possible to check to see if it was on my side. Though I have others claiming that is gone as well. Showing what lvl mobs were in an area. As well as the profession feedback. Was a very handy tool. If it wasn't remove then I'd assume some bug is preventing its display.

It has never shown herbalism or mining levels. It does show fishing levels though. If you cannot see the extra zone info when hovering over zones then make sure you have the latest version. Theres also conflicts with other addons, like AlphaMap, that are causing that info not to show.

I would love to have a flight path map included in to Cartographer. Something akin to the transportation map in Atlas; that's the only reason I still use Atlas. If that functionality were folded in to Cartographer, I would be eternally grateful!

Cartographer really does need an update. Slowly over the past few patches some bugs have been occurring that i'm sure everyone notices. it doesn't break the addon but like DDjusD said below, the list of instances runs off the page. We all eagerly await an update to the best map addon.

It does. Make sure you are using the most recent version since it was implemented in v2.5.4

incase you didnt know this already, when you look at instances there is a part the say unknown that has alot of instance listed in it, soo many that is moves off screen.

It may be buggy, but it's much, much better than nothing. Can you suggest a replacement?

I'll tell you what bothers me. I never see a response from the authors. Problems are not acknowledged. Possible work arounds are not published by the developer. No indication when or even if a fix is coming.

Look at the forum for Auctioneer. A developer there frequently comments on postings, and often lends a helping hand to users with issues.

Come on developers, throw us a bone sometimes, please?

I'll throw you a bone, I don't think Ckknight uses Cartographer2 anymore when he plays WoW since he created Cartographer3 and I don't even play WoW anymore. The other two people listed as additional authors are just people that didn't want us to kill the mod off when Wrath came out, they did some minor fixes then flaked off and haven't been seen in a while.

So yeah issues have been acknowledged but work arounds aren't published because there aren't any other than the one posted multiple times in comments, disable the instance modules.

Problems don't magically get fixed when there's nobody to fix them.

No, still having issues in instances - can see raid member locations outside the instance, but once inside Naxx, cannot see my location or the location of raid members on the map, just boss locations. Can anyone help? Cheers

The Instance/Raid maps are not like the world map, you cannot see your location or the location of others. You just have to use your minimap and your brain to figure it out.

It worked the first few times I used it in Naxx - I could see raid members running back into position. Did a previous build work in instances, or does Cartographer3 support that function?

It's probably asked somewhere, but...

What is the annoying yellow circle when I hover some part of the map, and, more importantly, how the hell do I turn it off as it prevents me from making waypoints? :/.
