Combo Points Redux
Combo Points Redux is a numeric and graphical display for your combo points (and other similar mechanic abilities) based on the excellent numeric-only addon BasicComboPoints.
Slash Command
/cpr
or /cpredux
Features
- Numeric and graphical display of your combo points
- Numeric display and graphical display are independently movable
- Many icon choices for the graphical display
- Also tracks many other stacking secondary powers including
- Druids: Combo Points
- Mages: Arcane Charges
- Monks: Chi
- Paladins: Holy Power
- Rogues: Combo Points
- Warlocks: Soul Shards
Width, Height, and Scale
The new version for Legion has been updated to dynamically size the points based on your container size. This was done due to all the talents that change the number of points. Here's how this works.
- Set a Height and Width for the Point container
- Based on the maximum number of points available, the individual points will take up a proportional space
That's great... How do I get back to normal?
Here's an example of how to use the new options:
- You want 20x20 square icons and 5 pixels of spacing between them.
- Your class has six points.
- Set Height to 20 and Width to 150
- 150 = (20 * 6) + (5 * 6)
- You can then set a Scale to make this bigger or smaller too
In general:
- Set the Height to your desired Point height
- Calculate the Width
- Point Width * Max Points + Point Spacing * Max Points
Feedback
Important notice: since v3.2.6, ComboPointsRedux embeds BugGrabber, an error catching addon. Please check the error is really about ComboPointsRedux before reporting them here. I suggest installing BugSack to catch the errors.
Please report any bug or error using the WowAce bug tracker (your Curse account works there). The comments section below is not meant to report and track bugs.
Some words about submitting bug reports:
- I do not care about “it doesn’t work, fix it!” messages. I need to know how it failed and a way to reproduce the bug so I can test it and make sure I fix it.
- Bug reports are not in the “fire and forget” kind of things. I may have to ask you some details.
- Please check all existing tickets and the “known issues” section below before submitting new ones. Duplicate reports will be rejected on sight.
If you want another module for a spell please file them as tickets on WowAce. It makes my life easier!
Localization
Currently the addon will work in all locales, but the options screen is not translated on all clients. If you would like to help translate the options screen you can submit translations with the new localization tool at wowace.
That did fix the ability to access the config panel but after locking the buttons all I get are yellow (and red) squares. I get no text at all despite using the defaults.
I tried it on my Druid, Rogue, and Hunter. All three had text for various modules. Make sure you have the font size large enough, the default is a little small. Otherwise... I have no idea. It works fine for me and people in my guild. Unlock the displays, make sure there is a small grey square for the text display, if there isn't then you have it disabled some how.
I also have the same error and I get this (Might have something to do with my other addons):
Message: Interface\AddOns\ComboPointsRedux\Core.lua:473: ComboPointsRedux isn't registed with AceConfigRegistry, unable to open config
Time: 11/28/12 19:46:16
Do you have the Options addon enabled? The options are in a seperate load on demand addon, it's supposed to load the options before calling the function that threw that error. If there is a problem in the options module then you should have another error that happens right before that one.
Oops, yes it seems I'm retarded. Acvtivating options addon solved my problem. Thanks for the help, and I really appreciate your work. :D
Just wanted to leave a note saying that I've started playing again, so you all don't have to worry about CPR dying a slow and painful death. If you want any new modules just post a ticket on WowAce (the prefered method) or leave a comment here.
Thanks all!
Awesome work on the Burning Embers module, thank you. ^^
I just tagged BETA5 of 5.0 support. I'm hoping that I'll be able to tag a release version soon. At this point I'm only holding back to double check mechanics. The Betas are stable (they usually don't throw errors), so I encourge you to download BETA5 when it is available and test it for your class. Assuming everything appears to be working well, we should see a Release build this week.
Thanks for your patiences everyone.
hi
i just tested the new beta version a bit i saw that there are some problems with the unstable embers module for warlocks. if i change the color of the symbols it wont work until i reload my UI. if i set ember #3 and #4 to change to red it wont work and stays the same color and the first two embers
€dit: the colors for all embers stay the same depending on what color you choose for the first one
€dit 2: is there any way you could implement an "hide when out-of-combat" option? maybe if it doesnt take a lot of time since you dont play anymore
just wanted to let you know :)
Thanks very much for the bug report and clarification. I believe I've fixed the issue in the latest Alpha version on WowAce. I'll make a note about "hide while out of combat", and I'll try to get something in before school restarts.
Hello I apprecate the work you done and I understand you no longer play the game and are a very busy man. I saw you updated it again (Beta) you fixed the posion stacks so it's only one now, but it still isn't tracking when the target is posiond. Love the addon and hopefully you get it fixed sometime soon <3
Should be fixed later today (fixed in an alpha build... new beta later when some other things are fleshed out.
I encourage Destro warlocks to try the alpha versions, I put some work in on a Burning Embers module, but don't have much time to test it myself. Let me know if the icons are filling properly or look distorted in any way. It should mimic the default UI method of filling the texture up by tenths until you have a complete Ember.
I'm using the latest beta version, I cannot get my options to show neither by using the / command nor the interface. Am I missing something here?
I didn't get to test anything besides some spell changes I read about, I had almost zero free time the last few months, so something could be broken with the Options code, or load on demand addons, or something in a library.
There should be an error message of some sort if the options don't open. Turn on Show Lua Errors if you want more help.
One other note, 5.0 versions are BETA right now, check the Other Downloads tab.
Posting this on all my (popular) addons. I'm not really actively playing WoW anymore. Most of my friends have moved to SWTOR and GW2, that plus wrapping up a Master's degree and starting working is not leaving me with much time for WoW.
I'm trying my best to keep up with the changes to the game so I can try to keep these addons going for the people that use them. You can help me do this, post tickets on WowAce for modules that are broken, tell me the new behavior, link me the spell on mop.wowhead.com
Alternatively, if you know how to write addons, send me a PM, and we can discuss having you added to the project.
Can somone please update this for 5.0 patch? im using it with load out of date addons but it wont track deadly posion anymore since they changed the way it works.
EDIT: I updated to the beta of it and it STILL wont track deadly posion.
I haven't abandoned this you know... there is a beta version posted that has an updated version number. If somebody informs me of the new poison mechanic, I can update that module.
Bugged an old raid contact about this, I think the new beta should work.
