Getting Started
When you first login with this AddOn you will see a black transparent rectangle with a blue bar labeled 'Default', called the encounter pane, in the center of your screen. Shift+Click on it to move it. From left to right you will see:
- Stop Icon: Halts the current encounter (you should rarely have to do this)
- Menu Icon: Opens the configuration dialog
- Lock Icon: Toggles frame anchors
- Windows Icon: Opens a drop down menu to show interface windows
Also, if you ever hide the pane and can't get it to show, type /dxe to open the configuration dialog. There is also a minimap icon.

Big blue letters, such as "Defile on you!" , "Bone Storm!" , "Swarming Shadows" etc.
Is there any way to add warning with big letters in middle of your screen (in addition to screen flash)? If not, are there any plans on adding it?
Thanks ;)
They probably changed a spellid. I'll fix it when I get more information.
I've noticed that the Soul Reaper timers disappear on 10 man Heroic LK. Has anyone else noticed this?
Edit: Same with 25 man heroic.
Could be it's a blizzard bug, but it's still linked to DXE imo. Especially since it only appeared once I installed the addon, and it's not there nor does it appear if I disable the addon.
Thanks for the commands, I'll make sure to use them whenever it happens again, in addition to a screenshot.
There's been a fair bit of discussion on the "invisible frame" problem over at PitBull4. They concluded it was actually a Blizzard bug.
Edit: /rl will fix it temporarily.
When the bug happens mouseover the frame and type /dump GetMouseFocus():GetName(), /dump GetMouseFocus():GetParent():GetName(), and /dump GetMouseFocus():GetParent():GetParent():GetName(). Let me know if they print out anything.
I'll see what I can do about a screenshot next time it happens. It doesn't seem to have anything to do with an anchor though, as when i press the "toggle anchors" button in the config panel there is no clickable panel there, and due to the sheer width of the area it can't be the promixity tab thats messing up. Especially since I moved that
It's not necessarily in the same place it happens every time either, which makes it all the stranger. Sometimes it can be just on top of the character area, sometimes a little above that and sometimes a little above that again. Whole thing is mildly confusing, especially when none of my other guildies using DXE has this issue.
I've been manually adding the "Run Away Little Girl" sound every time I download a new release for a few months now. The best changes are the ones that save work on my part! Thanks!
@Amurai: Someone else has also reported this anomaly to me before, and it disappears somehow. I've been unable to reproduce this even when I wipe all my settings and install it fresh. Does the mouse-blocking occur when you click outside of an anchor? If you could provide a screenshot on exactly where this happens it would be extremely helpful.
@thekid89: There was a coding error that probably caused your framerate drop. I fixed it in v477.
My DXE doesn't always show Malleable Goo from festergut HM. its pretty much random when he gives the warning. I can have 4 Malleable Goos not giving warning then 1 does give warning and then it doesn't. any idea whats causing this?
As a user that turns around using the right mouse button, I'm encountering something relatively annoying that seems to be linked to DXE. There seems to be an invisible bar that prevents me from turning around as it's a clickable "bar" of some kind that covers about 1 cm in height (relative to my 22" screen) and about 80% of the screen in width. It went away when I did a complete reset, but now it's back for some reason. It goes away when I disable DXE in the addons menu, and stays away for a little while then comes back.
Any idea what this anomaly is ?
@kollektiv: I tried your suggestion and increased the delay setting though no result. I reverted back to v471 and the framerate drop doesn't occur with the proximity window open. Thank you for your suggestion and the add-on in general, really enjoy it and find it useful. I'll keep you updated if I can figure out the problem on my own later on in the week.
