FocusInterruptSounds
Makes a sound when your current target (or focus**) starts casting. To configure settings type '/fis' (or go to Interface Options).
Also has basic functionality to announce successful interrupts.
** Use with [target=focus] macros for interrupts (Counterspell, Spell Lock, Wind Shear, ...).
Some preliminary testing with the Legion prepatch indicate that the mod still works, so I've uploaded a new version that just tells WoW it's up to date.
Hi. I just loaded FIS, but it doesn't seem to work in arenas.
Also when I have it loaded, the addon Steal, Purge, and Dispel doesn't work. If I unload FIS and reload the UI, then Steal, Purge, and Dispel starts working normally again
Any suggestions?
If it was an instacast (Presence of Mind) spell, no sound will be played.
FIS causes some weird issues I have never seen before.
Above all, It seems FIS corrupts some spells my character has already learned for some reason; the client often prints an error that I don't have the exact spells that I have been using all the times. /reload doesn't solve the problem I have to log out, or unload FIS from the addon list. Moreover, the client gets disconnected without any explicit error message.
I did check other addons I use, I have finally concluded FIS is the guy makes all the troubles. Is there any treatment I can try? I am so spoiled by this beautiful addon, can't live without it. :(
* typo
I'm not seeing errors myself, so please paste your error message.
okay I really wish I could take the error message, but due to my limited knowlege on addons (programming language?) I wasn't able to grab the'explicit' log. ( maybe I need an addon to keep track of it. )
I will try, thank you for your time. Again, I appreciate for your awesome addon.
The BugSack and BugGrabber addons make it easier to store errors.
Alternatively, you could just upload a screenshot with the error text.
Sorry for late update. I have been collecting bug reports from the addon you suggested, and It turns out that some 'modified' addons causes all the weird issues with my WoW client.
Well, story is, I am playing WoW on a different language domain, there are some impetous players who 'localize' addons outside curse without any agreement from their original developers. I was using at least one of them under the impression that all the addons shared in the local community were original, and It was wrong. :/
I cleared all the addons and related files (cache, etc.. yup I have learned a lot!) in order to remove addons and their residues which were not managed by Curse client proerply, or had unidentified sources. Annnd the clean-up makes FIS perfectly fine. Setting up new addons were painful, but it was worth.
Thank you for all the advice! (and please, understand my poor english)
Is there any way I can lower the volume of the fis notification, when there is a spell to interrupt?
Sorry, there doesn't appear to be a way in the API to set the volume of a specific sound. If you have a .ogg editor (or happen to have a sound you like better lying around), you can just edit the sound files in FocusInterruptSounds folder.
This mod is a favorite of mine but it appears to be creating errors for me which are preventing this and most of my other mods from running.

This is the mod running on its own, i have tried reinstalling it a few times now.
AceConfigRegistry and CallbackHandlers are just libraries that this mod uses (that error is not in code that I know or own). I'll release a trivial revision, which will repack the mod with the latest versions of those libraries. Hopefully, that will fix the issue.

Hmmmm i still seem to be getting the same error... I discovered if i install a mod called 'ComboPointsRedux' the errors all seem to go away?
Perhaps the answer is inside that mod? Its really annoying as im not a particular fan of the mod, found it trying to find a substitute mod to another that wasnt working, it puts these unusual white boxes all over the place which ive (being its fixed my issue for now) moved them all to a corner where they arnt in my view.
My current mod list isnt very large:
ComboPointsRedux [Options]
NugComboBarGUI
Always keen to try new mods if anyone has any suggestions for a rogue player?
can add change chat output channel?
It seems that neither Avenger's Shield or Arcane Torrent notify in party when I use them to interrupt. They also don't produce a sound when I successfully interrupt. Both of these were working fine pre patch. Any ideas?
Arcane torrent was removed from the default list of Player Interrupt Spells because ranged users found it annoying. You can customize this by typing /fis and adding "Arcane Torrent" to the "Player Interrupt Spells" textbox. Remember to press the small "Okay" button just below the text box (otherwise, the change won't be registered).
I'm releasing a new revision that adds Avenger's Shield to the default list. Thanks for the report.
It seems that this isn't working as of 6.0.2 I am not seeing any specific errors but there is no sound when a interuptable spell is being cast. Thank you for your hard work on this mode I love it! :)
I'm investigating. Right now it seems that WoW refuses to play my sound files (which are mp3), but it will play DBM's (which are ogg). Will try to find an OGG converter to see if that fixes the issue.
Update: uploaded new version
Hey Corg, having an issue with the sound not working, it was working perfect 2 Mo's ago, im getting no errors, chat is working when i interrupt, everything works, but the sound. any ideas?Edit: uninstalled/reinstalled, works perfect now :)
Yes, I am a Blood Elf. I did what you said, thank you. But, I am confused, what does being a Blood Elf have to do with it and what did I just do? This is an alt and I never even knew that I had this talent. I see it in my general spell book tab. LOL, not much of an interrupt concidering the cool down...
