GatherMate2
GatherMate2 is an addon to collect and track herbs, mines, fishing pools, gas clouds, archaelogy finds and treasures, and displays them on the world map and the mini map.
This is the Retail version of GatherMate2, the version for WoW Classic can be found here
GatherMate will remember the location of every herb you pick or every ore you mine, so that you can easily find the positions of the herbs and mines again. Once you come into range of a recorded spot, GatherMate will show an icon representing the type of herb/ore/fish/etc. on your mini map, directly allowing you to decide if its worth checking out. Additionally, all spots are shown on the World Map, to ease navigation to certain types of nodes and making gathering more fun.
To give you a head start, GatherMate2 also offers a pre-filled data module, so you don't need to discover all herbs and mines yourself, but instead can just start gathering right away. Simply install GatherMate2_Data and hit a few buttons to import all the provided data, and you're good to go.

Usage
Using GatherMate2 is straight-forward.
After the installation, GatherMate2 is automatically active and collecting data.
You can configure which data should be shown on the World Map or MiniMap in the Configuration Dialog, which can be accessed either via the /gathermate slash command or be found in the Interface options in the WoW Menu.
Localization (Translation of Nodes)
GatherMate2 relies on the node names to be translated in all languages WoW supports. You can contribute additional translations for your language here using the Localization tool:
https://www.wowace.com/projects/gathermate2/localization
Any translations submitted through that tool will be automatically included in the next release.
GatherMate2_Data
GatherMate2_Data has been updated with all fresh data from Wowhead, including support for Shadowlands, and will be continously updated throughout the coming expansion.
If you are looking for a pre-filled database for GatherMate2, get GatherMate2_Data here:
https://www.curseforge.com/wow/addons/gathermate2_data
I edited my \World of Warcraft\WTF\Account\xxxxxxxxxxxx\SavedVariables\Gathermate2.lua and manually added the wowhead co-ords for all Dragonblight chests - not 100% accurate but it resulted in finding a chest
Example:
wowhead map with pin for chest = 72.8,73.5
Wowhead co-ords are 6 digits - converted to 4 digits in data file 7280 7350 and add 00 at the end results in 7280735000
gathermate location for dragonblight is [488]
Edited with Notepad++
Dragonblight map only shows 29 locations yet there are 31 mentioned in title.
hope someone adds these to the gathermate2_data in the near future :)
This is driving me up the wall. I cannot for the life of me get Maplewood and Dark Iron treasure chests to show up. I found a ticket on Wowace from March 2011 with the same problem, and that ticket was resolved in June 2011 (http://www.wowace.com/addons/gathermate2/tickets/39-missing-treasures/).
I'm assuming it's PEBCAK, but I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I've reinstalled GatherMate2 and the newly updated GatherMate2_data, flattened the database, imported over and over but they're not showing up.
Has anyone been able to remedy this?

Edit: Just to be explicit, I have checked the Wowhead data on treasure chests and compared to what GatherMate2 is showing after importing (and flattening/reimporting/cleaning up), there are quite a few nodes missing.
For over a year i have been having the same problem that Outland Gas clouds will not be recorded by Gathermate - i have removed the nodes from the database and even re-installed the addon and kept upto date with the Data file but still Gathermate will not record or change locations of the nodes when i gather them. Take Felmist - today 9th June 2012 in Shadowmoon Valley - all the nodes show up on my maps but they are innacurate - cannot add nodes to the map/database when gathering new node points.
Aha - found the problem - i had all gases turned off while Felmist was on - gathermate adds new nodes for Felmist as Steam Cloud (305) - so now i track this instead of importing Felmist....
Not a problem as long as locations are added - if its called Steam Cloud or Felmist doesnt matter :)
For people trying to track specific types - just enable all gas clouds and accept the fact that what it is doesnt matter as in outland the nodes are not found near each other - Felmist only in Shadowmoon - Air in Nagrand - etc -
Logged out and back in and now nothing works - cannot create/add any new felmist nodes to my map or database..
Frustrating to say the least.
UPDATE: 10th June
Removed and replaced with latest Alpha - turned off all other professions except Gas - gathering a node does not add it to the Database - nothing is being written to the Gathermate.LUA file except the instruction to not track mining herbing etc - gas is shown as true.
Did some more testing - and at first i thought TOMTOM might be a conflicting addon as it uses the same lib - however as i use AddonControlPanel most switching on and off of addons is done using /reloadui ( /console reloadui ) and this is where the problem has become apparent.
If i use /reloadui then Gathermate becomes broken and will not add gas nodes to the database.
If i shut down the game and start it up again then gathering gas nodes works again.
GatherMate2's data gets updated a couple of times a month. Gatherer's data (http://www.wowinterface.com/downloads/info11707-GathererDBWoWHead.html) hasn't had an update since November 2011. That doesn't necessarily mean that Gatherer's data isn't current, but........
I'm pretty sure this is obvious but I still wanted to ask. What is the difference between Gatherer and Gathermate2? I have been using Gatherer for a while but it is out-of-date and I saw this one but I dont see what the diff betweent he 2 is. Any help?
I'm hoping there won't be any difference - Gatherer looks to be dead for good.
There must be some minor bug or something? Alliance Executus all the mining nodes are not working correctly, if i switch to one of my other servers mining all the dots show up correctly all mining nodes show mining is available. But its not working properly on just Executus server i can't figure it out?
Most of the empty dots tell me how to fix (clean up duplicates made)

Hi, y can't import any data and the nodes don't show me on the minimap
This change will make the World map icons do the same thing as the minimap icons (shown or hidden) when you press the minimap keybinding.
in Bindings.xml, copy line 3 and paste it in as a new line 4: In the new line 4, edit both occurences of "showMinimap" and change to "showWorldMap" Be careful to get the case correct. showWorldMap needs a 'M' while showMinimap needs a 'm'
line4: GatherMate2.db.profile["showWorldMap"] = not GatherMate2.db.profile["showWorldMap"]
Thanks a lot! =]
I got a request.
You currently allow to make a Hotkey to Toggle Minimap Nodes, but i would like one to Toggle to World Map On and Off.
Or make it possible thru a Macro Command for that matter, that's how i did it for Gatherer.
Is there a way to transfer the data collected from one computer to another? Because I play wow on 2 computers. but its annoying when the gathered nodes aren't on one.
copy this file from one computer
World of Warcraft\WTF\Account\YourAccountName\SavedVariables\GatherMate2.lua
and put it on the other computer in the same location.
I know this may seem silly, but what is the / command to configure this?
nodes of mining dont show in language "Portuguese", herbalism show all
Entering darkmoonfaire It shows LibMapData-1.0 is missing data for 823
