GatherMate2

Table of Contents

GatherMate2 is an addon to collect and track herbs, mines, fishing pools, gas clouds, archaelogy finds and treasures, and displays them on the world map and the mini map.

This is the Retail version of GatherMate2, the version for WoW Classic can be found here

GatherMate will remember the location of every herb you pick or every ore you mine, so that you can easily find the positions of the herbs and mines again. Once you come into range of a recorded spot, GatherMate will show an icon representing the type of herb/ore/fish/etc. on your mini map, directly allowing you to decide if its worth checking out. Additionally, all spots are shown on the World Map, to ease navigation to certain types of nodes and making gathering more fun.

To give you a head start, GatherMate2 also offers a pre-filled data module, so you don't need to discover all herbs and mines yourself, but instead can just start gathering right away. Simply install GatherMate2_Data and hit a few buttons to import all the provided data, and you're good to go.

Usage

Using GatherMate2 is straight-forward.
After the installation, GatherMate2 is automatically active and collecting data.

You can configure which data should be shown on the World Map or MiniMap in the Configuration Dialog, which can be accessed either via the /gathermate slash command or be found in the Interface options in the WoW Menu.

Localization (Translation of Nodes)

GatherMate2 relies on the node names to be translated in all languages WoW supports. You can contribute additional translations for your language here using the Localization tool:

Any translations submitted through that tool will be automatically included in the next release.

GatherMate2_Data

GatherMate2_Data has been updated with all fresh data from Wowhead, including support for Shadowlands, and will be continously updated throughout the coming expansion.

Since the auther decided to change the addon name from GatherMate to GatherMate2, the nodes outlines no longer show up on the HUD map without a coding modification.

Can the authur implement a change so that a call to GatherMate:GetModule("Display") has a depricated function to actually call GatherMate2:GetModule("Display") to make this addon backward compatible since the name has changed.

This doesn't affect my post below as I'm using the exact same add-ons on two accounts with one showing active nodes and the other doesn't. It might be a conflict but I'm not sure what that could be as I have the same add-ons on both accounts. In fact, I renamed the Interface folder from the account that doesn't work and copied the Interface folder from the one that does work with no success. I deleted the Cache folder with no success. The active nodes will simply not show. This is getting frustrating as it's a great add-on which I have used from most of my WOW gaming. :(

I have two accounts, running the exact same addons including GatherMate2, GatherMate2_Data and GatherMate_Sharing, all updated versions as downloaded from Curse. I logged into two toons on separate accounts, both with Mining and Herbalism professions as well as one is Horde and the other is Alliance. I had both at the same coordinates in Arathi Highlands within range of an active Mine and active Herb node since I can physically see the Mine and Herb. One shows it as active and the other shows it as inactive.

On the account not showing the active nodes, I uninstalled all GatherMate addons and reinstalled via Curse. No luck. I physically removed the GatherMate folders from the Interface/Addons folder, downloaded and install the GatherMate addons physically. No luck. I physically removed the GatherMate folders and then copied the GatherMate folders from the 'working' accounts Interface / Addons folder. No luck.

Remember, I have compared both accounts and ensured they were running the exact same addons on both toons with one exception. The alliance is running Spellflash - Druid and the horde is running Spellflash - Rogue which should NOT be an issue.

Any suggestions?

FYI, Nodeflash also doesn't show the active nodes. I don't know if that gives any insight since I have copied the working Interface folder to the 'non-working' WOW folder.

I get libmapdata error spam whenever i enter firelands. it wont stop unless i disable the addon which makes it pointless to have the addon in the first place.

please fix this you addon is the better than the rest IMO :)) keep up the good work! and thank you.

There's an update - 1.15 posted. Have to manually push it via website for today. Looks like the date is set for 7/1, so it would be on the curse client tomorrow.

Quick Fix, based on one provided by PerrinGaiden over on the comments page for LibMapData-1.0 (which is embedded in Gathermate2)

1. Navigate to Interface>Addons>GatherMate2>Libs>LibMapDate-1.0
2. Open library.lua with notepad (PC) or textedit (Mac)
3. Copy the code below and insert it after Line 965

mapData[795] = {
['floors'] = 3, ['name'] = "Firelands", ['rzti'] = 0, ['map_type'] = 2, ['continent'] = 0, ['transform'] = 0,
[1] = {0,0,1,1}, [2] = {0,0,1,1}, [3] = {0,0,1,1},
}

4. Profit!

NOTE: The original fix says to put 800 in where I have 795. If you have a different number showing up in your error spam, use that number instead. 795 is the number that kept coming up in my error spam. If you have multiple numbers showing up in your error spam, well then Elune help you because I got nothin' for ya.

This is not an authorized fix, so use at your own risk. But it's so minor it really shouldn't break anything.

This addon is almost useless because of the massive amount of spam produced by LibMapData-1.0 when in any of the new zones introduced with 4.2.

I entered Firelands today through the Thrall questchain and Gathermate absolutely had a heart-attack as soon as I entered, spamming LibMapData 1.0 is missing...I believe the number was 749. At first I thought it was mapster or crom but only after I shut off Gathermate did the spam stop.

Same, entering Molten Front or Firelands causes LibMapData 1.0 to spam its missing the map.

I am also having this issue. Will be quite an issue when we all can go directly to Firelands in a couple days, everyday, for daily quests.

I'm wondering if there is a way to have an "on/off" button for the mini-map either as an ldb or mini-map button. I know it can be done through options but I was wondering if there was a quicker more accessible way to do it.

You can make a hotkey for turning the minimap on/off, I have it set to ctrl+m

one question- the gold tracking circle that appears on the minimap around your toons arrow, how do you turn it on and off?. atm sometimes its on and sometimes its off...like it has a mind of its own...
