GatherMAte_Data is now deprecated for WoW 4.0.

Please switch to GatherMate2_Data and GatherMate2

you can do a merge instead of overwrite for an import

I've found new herb/treasure/etc. nodes since the last time I downloaded GatherMate_Data. If I install this version, will I lose those locations?

If so, is there a way to export and re-import the data so I can get rid of the "Out-of-date" flag but still keep my data points?

Try it out, take a backup of your current version and then update it. Check if you old notes still are in place. Normally the data that is collected by addons are saved elsewhere in some savedvariables. So in theory the notes should be there after the update.
