GnomeWorks TradeSkill Frame -
a complete replacement for the blizzard trade skill frame.
Hi - just wanted to say thanks for GW. As far as i van see on Cataclysm beta it is all working ok - except for the queue window opening every time i visit a vendor or a repair - even if there is nothing in the queue.
Anyway to turn this off?
Oh and while i'm being dumb - options gui? I can't seem to find it. no Command line /gw, /gnomeworks, /gnomew, /gworks - tried em all.
Or....is the gui or options interface not in yet. Sorry if i am being REALLY dumb
@Yndin i really liked the direct view on numbers! Especially for thinks you craft
only one or two of if they are soled. Maybe it is easy to implement if some checks
the KeVTool skilletitemCount code ???
@anatar2 GW has nothing to do with checking items on other toons. Altoholics shows in tooltip if you have something on other toons while KTQ takes that into consideration. And it's working so far for me.
Vary nice addon indeed!!! But is there a possibility to add something like a number of the Items in ALL inventories?? like it was done in skillet by using the KeVTool skilletitemCount and altoholic?? I screwed up in making stuff i have already.
So I've clicked to choose Vendor ink source... but it doesn't do anything, I don't see any buy list for inks nor is there any button to buy inks from vendor himself. Can you write some basic guide for this addon?
Some that I like its, I can make a "huge" queue list and gnome say me what I can make it, the only problem seen when you have only 1 pigment, the recipe to make a ink need 2, and gnome stucks that want make these ink, even if I don't have materials on any bag/bank to make it.. a skip button? Or a shift click at queue to force make the selected item. Can disable only use bags items (don't try to use the bank items to craft), can be a option ?
lilsparky>> Thx for the info it answer most of my needs.
Another strange thing i encountered, there still seems to be a weird interaction between Grid2 (latest version, no plugins) and GW.
If i load GW (with all my addons and such), without Grid2, everything works fine.
If i load it with Grid2, in the best case, the addon works partially (ie : queue interaction don't work anymore, all that is available in the queue in right/left click is the lower/raise frame menu), and most of the case it doesn't works.
Strange thing is, in both case, with lua errors activated i can't find any error concerning either addon in Swatter/BugSack....
Any idea of where i should look to help pinpoint the problem ?
(reloading ui and disabling grid2 isn't that much of a hassle, but it would be nice if i could manage to have both addons working together :p).
Gotta say guys the new r58 GW is a gem to use fro my glyphs. Everything is working perfectly. I can get inventory, do the shopping list, purchase in bulk from ink and parchment vendors and then make the required glyphs.
Hi lilsparky, good work with gnomeworks! i love it.
Can you add a IsTradeSkillGuild() check to load normal tradeskill ui at moment (a fast solution) to get a view of guild skills with (errors) or slow openings because don't need queue at moment.
Hi. Is there any way that i can get rid of that queue pop up window every time i visit AH/bank/guild? After the 100th time or so it starts getting real annoying.
Otherwise an awesome crafting addon. Sorry if this has been answered already but i managed to miss it.
i've been playing with deleting my cache and seeing how long it takes to scan. it seems that perhaps 4.0 has changed the system somewhat and scans take a lot longer than they used to.
i've added a "click to skip" functionality. if you find a scan is taking too long, then just click the frame and it'll move on to the next link to scan. if you skip a link, that means those recipes won't be registered for that player, but then of course, it probably means that player's trade skill data will take forever to access anyway.
i've also added a right-click menu for auto-queue'd recipes that lets you select a different reagent pathway. so if it says you should mill some herb and you'd rather mill a different one, you can right-click to select which you prefer. i'll try to figure out how to make such preferences permanent.
re: Hangups
It does 'move' - just very slowly. The biggest/longest delays are on both of my toons that do Jewelcrafting, if that helps anything. Occasionally it hangs up on a toon I play VERY rarely's Blacksmithing. Most of the others all swing by pretty quickly. As of this writing, it's been scanning the Blacksmithing for 2 minutes, 40 seconds and counting.
you can delete your manual entries to the queue by right clicking them and hitting "delete". by "manual entries" i mean the items you specifically ask to make. you can also change the number of items created by right or left clicking the number you've queued (left click increases the count, right click decreases it.. i may add some other means to change this number like double-click to manually enter a number).
the process button will skip anything that can't currently be crafted given the items in your queue. also, the create/create all buttons operate outside the craft queue so you can still do crafting of items while having a large build queue.
there is currently no means to re-order, but this will be coming. the re-order method i favor is drag and drop rather than silly "move up/down" buttons. this is why it's not yet implemented as it is requires some programming to core ui system on which gw is built. however, once that system is implemented it will unlock some additional features that i'm working towards, like custom grouping of recipes, which will also be drag and drop...
Just a question, something i didn't find how to do.
Is there a way to edit the queue for GW ? (ie : remove an entry from the queue, or decide to craft that item before another one ) ?
Because i must admit i'm not yet used to it and fairly often i mess up the queue, and having to remake it for 30+ items isn't fun. :D
12 minutes is way too long... even for a totally empty cache. while it was scanning, did the text in the frame change at all? it's possible that the scan could get stuck... i don't think it's got any means to kick start if it doesn't get a response when trying to open a link.
can you try running it without any other mods enabled to see how it behaves?
It sometimes seems to only last for 10-20 seconds. Right after I posted that last plea, however, it took 12 minutes, roughly (cause it threw me AFK, and was AFK for 7 minutes after that.)
Is there any way to use it with Ink Vendor? So far addon is useless for glyphs since no matter what I do (even standing at the Ink Vendor with open window) it doesn't want to shop for inks. I also have no idea how many inks I have to buy, because it shows me f.e. 864 Ethreal Inks stored while I have 0. I could try to buy few stacks of Inks, but since 4.0.1 hit the deck it seems it's no longer possible to buy stacks of inks, I have to click for each one...
theoretically, the scanning frame shouldn't stay up very long. but yeah, i'll add some bells and whistles if it's how this system stays in place. right now, it scans all recorded tradeskill links (all your alts that it knows about) but i'll likely replace that with a scan of just your current toon, then scan your alts as you view their queues.
bowlam: ignore the rev# mismatch. for some reason, the rev # doesn't necessarily update in all files when i make a commit. i'll see about how to make this work better.

i just tagged lsw as a release so if you update, you'll get the version without "this" in it.
i've been using the "revision" tag in the .toc file, but i guess stubby likes the "version" tag. i'll use both.
I have r57 installed. BTW, it would be helpful if the version number that stubby prints out for GW was set so I can verify it.
I just opened my queue.
