Gnomish Yellow Pages
The Gnomish Yellow Pages will monitor all chat traffic to identify people advertising trade skills. As trade skill ads are identified, they are recorded and stored for later retrieval.
type: /gyp
to bring up a window with all information in an easy to read table.
strangers names appear in white
guildmates are displayed in green
friends are displayed in yellow
anybody in your local zone is shown in cyan
all offline players are red
the row of trade skill buttons will access the entire database of trade recipes so you can search for whatever recipe you wish. click to open whatever trade skill browser you use.
when browsing a trade skill, selecting a recipe will cause gyp to update the trade link color to light blue if that recipe is contained in that link. also any searches in the trade skill browser will be reflected in the gyp link color -- links that contain none of the recipes returned by the search will be dark yellow; normal yellow links indicate that at least one of the recipes in the browser window matches the trade link.
1. needs to ignore level 0 links
2. need a way to manually delete individual entries
3. need a way to clear all entries (with warning dialog)
4. need a way to turn off recording of trade barkers and only record guild and friends
other than that, this is a great mod so far, keep up the work! :D
bug: I have "show offline members" UNchecked in the guild roster, and the addon keeps turning it on (without checking it) so that I always see the offline members even though I don't want to.
problem: can't differentiate between offline users, whether they're guild, friend or barker... maybe instead of using red for offline, use white for barkers (online) and then dim the 3 colors for offline (ie. grey for barkers offline, ocher for friends offline, and olive for guildies offline)
i've definitely got plans for ignoring based on trade and/or level -- could certainly add an option to only accept "trusted" links (friends and/or guildmates).
also, pruning is definitely on the list.
yeah, the show offline guild members gets turned on by gyp. this is so i identify the entire guild. i'll see about trying to reset it to its original setting.
also there's a simple search feature added (more to come later).
basically, when you browse a tradeskill gyp will monitor your activities and highlight the tradeskills that match your search parameters (yellow) and currently selected tradeskill (light blue). tradeskills that fail to match anything will be darkened.
for example, browse a top level enchanter. search for "weapon spell" and you'll get a list of weapon enchants that do spell damage or have "spell" in their name. any ads that contain any of the recipes resulting from this search will show up as yellow. select a recipe from the list and any ads that contain that specific spell will turn light blue.
the search feature only works for the default blizzard frame, currently. but the selected recipe highlight works for atsw and skillet as well.

Would be great.
Also improve the limit of tradeskills recorded; when I'm scanning the auction house and I have trade on, I get spammed with all kinds of tradeskill links, and all my previous tradeskill links are purged from the list, since GYP only remembers less than the last 50 tradeskill links.
i have to be honest, i don't know why your list stopped at 50 links. that's not built into the system in any way. the list should be pretty much unlimited. i'll see if i can reproduce that.
That'd be great :D
Although I wonder how big this thing can get after a few days in dalaran. :S
there is no limit. i can add a filter option to the player filtering (right click the player column header) to only show friends or guildmates (or both).
Is there currently a limit on how many entries it will take? Also could you prioritize keeping guild/friend's trade skill and only bump off ones from strangers in trade.
lol!
Now I get to return the favor and write bug reports for YOU!
At least make this a beta ;)
Lilsparky you're a star!
I couldn't remember the command LOL. I only ever type /who when I want to see who's in a specific zone :P
If you need testers just shout. I'd be happy to help.
yeah, excellent mod, very very useful. Highly recommended.
