MagicMarker
Addon Description
Magic Marker lets you easily classify and mark mobs simply by moving the mouse over them while pressing a modifier key. This allows incredibly fast marking of trash groups. Although not necessary for the addon to function, you can configure the priority and crowd control methods you wish to use on a per mob basis. You can also customize the marks to use for tank targets and each crowd control method. This allows for consistent marking of targets to tank and crowd control in raid and party situations
Features
- Mob-level configuration to specify the priority, desired category (i.e Tank or Crowd Control) and applicable crowd control methods.
- Automatically learns new crowd control methods as they are discovered.
- Prioritize raid icon configuration for tank targets and all crowd control methods.
- Prioritize crowd control methods.
- Separate priorities for crowd controlling and tanking (optional).
- Marks targets in priority order simply my mousing over them.

- Ability to unmark and mark targets manually at the press of a button.

- Option to preserve marks on the raid members.

This worked just fine pre-v3.0.2. Everything got marked, everything got marked intelligently.
With the newer version of MagicMarker, this isn't happening correctly any more. I have marks assigned to various CC types, but CC isn't being intelligently decided on on the fly. Everything I mouse over gets marked as if it were tank targets, even if, for example, I have something undead and I can shackle it. And yes, I checked the mob database for the appropriate dungeon and difficulty, and yes, it does know the target is shackleable.
The only visible bug I can see is what seems to be a floating button-type graphic that seems locked to a specific position on my screen when the options window is open. When I move the window, the button stays in place (and is only visible inside the window when either of the CC tabs are open to pulldowns).
What's going on, and how do I fix it?
The 'everything's being marked as tank, even in eight mob pulls with plenty of CC available in 25 man raids' issue is still around.
Nobody needs to mark nonelite mobs anyway, so is there a possibilty to disable that?
As for the setup it does need to be set up to work good. It will learn how mobs can be CC'd but still require you to change them as such - it doesn't necessarily change the initial trash learning difficulty, but makes repeat clears easier once it's trained. Even in large instances like Black Temple there really aren't THAT many different kind of mobs.
The auto-marking is a per-zone toggled feature - if you go into the mob database and look at the zone level functionality there's an option to mark on targeting. If it's on, just disable it and you should be good to go. It should not automatically mark things otherwise however.
when you hold the modifier down to mark it does it fine but sometimes notice how it doesnt mark sometimes? its because you have to clear the cache by holding alt+clicking on the MagicMarker fubar icon then it clears the cache and mark up again everytime it does it just clear the cache and ur good to go again I dunno what the problem is there.
Also, why is this now marking everything I target? It used to work where I'd hold down a button and move the mouse over targets to mark them, now it marks EVERYTHING attackable I target.
The minimap button, which comes from FuBar_MagicMarker, can be enabled in that addon using the dropdown menu (or should be able to enable it at least). Do you have FuBar or FuBar2Broker + an LDB displayer like ButtonBin installed?
As a note I plan to add LDB support to Magic Marker, deprecating MMFu. I'll also add a separate option to display a minimap button.
