MBB
The Addon HidingBar supersedes MBB on all aspects and is continually updated.
https://www.curseforge.com/wow/addons/hidingbar
MBB reduces minimap buttons and makes them accessible through a pop out menu. Click the MBB button to expand the menu and display the buttons. Each button that is collapsed into the menu can be reattached to the minimap with Ctrl + Right Click. The MBB button can also be detached from minimap with Ctrl + Right Click.
Hot Key
- Ctrl + Right Click - detach / reattach a minimap button
Slash Commands
- /mbb - shows the MBB commands
- /mbb buttons - shows a list of all rfames in the MBB bar
- /mbb reset position - resets the position of the MBB button
- /mbb reset all - resets the MBB settings
This issue is resolved. MBB will now ignore QuestPointer Minimap frames.
Thank you for continuing to update this mod! I too am a SexyMap user and I'm eager to try out your mod, hoping everything works with it. I just have a few requests...
1. Does the mod have any LibDataBroker support? If not, would that be able to be added? It would be nice to be able to "attach" MBB to say, TitanPanel as an entry and then when one clicks on it it can display all the icons/minimap buttons downward in a "menu" of sorts.
2. Especially since it seems Minimap Button Frame has not been updated, would you be able to add some of its features, such as being able to pick additional formations (ie a grid as opposed to one long row of buttons that basically opens in one direction, horizontal/vertical options ) and the ability to pick up "stray" buttons that for whatever reason may not be showing up properly. Manually adding buttons to MBB or changing the order of buttons within MBB etc.... will allow users, especially those with a ton of minimap buttons, to categorize to their liking - "I'll put all my map buttons together, then bag buttons, then unit frame buttons, then timer buttons etc..".
Thanks again for your work keeping our interfaces a little cleaner!
I'll review this request and see if this can be done. Thanks for the feedback!
Any chance you can look compatibility with sexymap? The only problem is that it seems MBB assumes you can only have a circular map, but sexymap allows you to have square maps and when you move MBB's button to a corner is actually on top of the map instead of on the frame. I use the Simple Square map config which comes with sexymap.
Great addon, thank you!
I'll review SexyMap and take a look.
To add to the SexyMap compatibility issue... only while using SexyMap my MBB pull-out frame is constantly stuck open. The buttons will not collapse into the single MBB button. I've attempted resetting the settings as well as deleting the saved variables. Also reset SM settings.
I love this addon but I had to disable it because it was using a LOAD on memory. I've used it for years and I got like 50+ addons (so it's not because I got a shitty computer) but with the new patch my game started lagging. Yesterday I checked the memory usage of my addons and this addon used 70+ MB. I got no clue why it does but I can't use it when it require that much.
Mee too :(
This post really doesn't give any information to troubleshoot from. Try this following:
Reporting that your game is laggy when you have so many Addons doesn't point to the MBB as the problem. Help me help you by providing more information.
I was considering a request from an MBB user who suggested that MBB not check for buttons as often as it is and this suggestion is being looked into. I have also been reducing the codebase with every release and dropping unnecesary variables while I optimize this Addon for the next feature which is Healbot and other child button support.
Keep in mind that there's really not much to this Addon that would require the type of memory usage that you are reporting. I must say that with every release that I have been involved with I have checked the memory utilization before release and it is the lowest of the Addons that I have loaded.
Having said this I am committed to improving this Addon so please supply me with the information I have requested and I will certainly look into your report.
See my post above and submit information that will help in determining any problems that you might be having.
This is a REALLY bad report. First you have got "display lua errors" option turned off. This means you get lag rather than error messages. If you are running ANY addon then you really MUST turn this option on otherwise you may have a bad addon causing lag that you need to update.
Second you made no mention of which version you are running. Hint there has never been ANY addon with a version number of "the latest". You must quote an actual version number. Without this info you may as well not have bothered posting a message.
Three clueless users in a row!!! Hint turn on Display LUA errors or don't use addons.
UPDATE: In good faith that the reported lag and memory utilization might be re-creatable I turned on memory reporting and for 4 hours today I've been monitoring MBB. (I took today off and I was leveling my main some. ) The MBB memory utilization hasn't risen above 0.19 MB all day and I saw no lag. I am running things like Titan Panel, Healbot, ElvUI, Tom Tom, Carbonite, Mobit, etc... My gaming computer is a Dell M1730 which is a dated machine.
It is possible that the lag and memory utilization you are seeing comes from a combination of Addons or from the "Disable LUA Error" issue that Pericles mentioned. I still encourage you to supply enough information for me to diagnose the issue you are reporting and please follow Pericles suggestion to turn on "Display LUA Errors" from the Interface Options. If you are getting LUA errors from Addons and they are in your face you might try loading !BugGrabber and BugSack to help manage Addon errors. Please also make sure all Addons are updated to their latest version as Pericles recommended.
In respect to the users that have reported issues in a thorough manner, like the Healbot button issue, and to respect my personal time, I will not spend any more time on your issue until you have supplied more information.
try doing a "/mbb buttons" command when you are noticing the issue.
I noticed that MBB was using 50mb+ when I had Zygor's guides loaded, it was because MBB was trying to gather the ant trail marks added by zygor and zygor was adding them again.
You may want to add [37] = "ZGVMarker" into the ignore list also karl :)
Okay good news, this one might be fixed! I loaded Zygor Guides (ZG) myself and tested this issue.
KBSSKB, we are totally guessing that you might be using ZG. When using ZG MBB hides the trail markers and ZG doesn't like that very much and it adds them back and this repeats. In this case MBB only appears to be using 50+ MB however it is not. MBB will now ignore any ZG markers.
If you aren't using ZG please let me know which Addon you are using so I may address the issue.
In the future when reporting a bug please give me more information to go on. If you aren't sure how to collect information please post a thread and ask for help. The MBB users are very helpful and responsive.
I want to thank Dreamstorm for stumbling across Zygor Guides and posting his thoughts. I have sent ZG a message suggesting that they wrap their trail markers in a parent frame to prevent other Addons from stumbling over their minimap artifacts.
yep, it's was ZG that was causing the issue, so sorry for my bad report, next time if I have any problems, I'll add a detailed report, thanks!
Your addon is grabbing the archaeology marker nodes added by gatherer, the button frame is showing as GatherArchNote1, can you make it ignore these please?
Thanks for the report. I will address this issue.
Ok this one's resolved.
