Misspelled is a chat spell-checker addon. Misspelled watches the chat messages you type, highlighting any misspellings and offering suggestions for any misspelled words it finds.

I've included in the US & UK English dictionaries some Warcraft specific proper nouns, including the zone names, and all dungeon and raid boss names. Your friends and guild members are also automatically added, and shouldn't get flagged as misspelled words..Misspelled utilizes the HunSpell style, affix (prefix/suffix) compressed dictionaries. The same ones used in Chrome, Firefox, and OpenOffice. Misspelled provides suggestions based on words that phonetically sound like the misspelled word, along with providing suggestions based on common mistakes of spelling. While Misspelled can detect nearly the same number of individually correctly spelled words as OpenOffice, it's suggestion engine, is "somewhat" less complicated, than the HunSpell implementation.

Misspelled includes dictionaries for US-English, UK-English, French, German, Italian, Russian (experimental), and Spanish. The appropriate dictionary, for your game client locale, will auto-load, or you can manually choose what dictionary to use from Misspelled's Interface/Addons options page.

Misspelled works with WIM (Wow Instant Messenger), and is compatible with: Prat, Skinner, and Chatter.

Usage note: Spell Checking is performed as you complete each word you've typed. The last word in the chat box, isn't spell checked until you type some form of word terminator, either a period, space, or some other word separating punctuation. Spell checking is very fast; but isn't performed needlessly, while a word is being typed.

Misspelled is compatible with Wow, Wow Classic/Wrath/Cata If you are having problems with Misspelled, please try updating or disabling all other chat addons you may be running.

From the games Options menu, click Interface. Select the Addons tab, and select Misspelled. You'll see the dictionary options listed on the right. Unselect "Auto choose dictionary" and select the enGB dictionary. Click OK to close the Interface Options windows, then reload your game client with /reload.

works great in normal chat windows but it does not work in WIM for me, anything I need to set to get it to work inside WIM ?

There is nothing you need to do. Integration with Win is automatic. Please check that you are running both the latest Win, and Misspelled versions. Running an outdated version of Win is probably causing your problem.

my ver of both is the latest ver. I use WIM ver 3.3.3 and misspelled ver. r48 but it still dont work in wim, should I change anything in the defaults of it maybe ?

No option in Wim or Misspelled should cause it to stop working. If Misspelled detects Wim is installed, it hooks right in.

My next best guess, is some other addon is getting in the way. Are you running any other chat addons? Just for a test, try disabling everything except Wim and Misspelled. If they then work together, something else is the cause. Next re-enable a few addons at a time, until you find the culprit.

There may be some kind of bad interaction going on between Misspelled and some other addon you are using. Try zoning in with just Misspelled loaded, and see if that works. Then you can start enabling more and more addons, until Misspelled breaks. That'll help you pin down the culprit.

Report back any additional information you find, or if you have any questions.

Best I can tell, the US client doesn't support entering Cyrillic characters, so I need a bit of help testing my implementation.

Is there anyone running the European or Russian World of Warcraft clients, that would be interested in assisting with some testing?

I finally got around to converting the Russian OpenOffice dictionary to UTF8 encoding, from the "crazy" KOI8-R 8-bit encoding (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/KOI8-R) it was stored in. I'll work to add the Russian dictionary, over the next few days. Hopefully I can get someone out there to help me test it. :)

nice addon i like it but now my only problem is my grammar can ya make a addon for that i think u mite make people on wow smarter lol or makeing sense ya it would be cool

Adding a grammar checker is a feature I've given significant thought to. I"m sorry to say that it's probably not something I'll ever get around to implementing. The grammar analysis isn't overly complicated, or CPU intensive. I just don't know how you could display a given grammar error, in some usefully way, with the limitations on the wow edit boxes. Having spelling mistakes and grammar mistakes in different colored text would just be messy.

It's highly possible it's on purpose, but in the TOC file, and thus on the addon list, Misspelled is misspelled.
Either way, great addon that helps me catch my clumsy typing. Thank you.
