Posted Jul 17, 2010It is using a blank bar above the health and mana bars that is black. The name text is attached to this bar instead of the health bar.
The healthbar is class colored with a different texture.
The mana bar is also a custom(black) bar with a dark grey background that shows deficiency.
The border is a turned on blizzard dialog (I think) border in a dark grey.
I used the portrait module and picked full body portrait. Uncheck position as Bar and attached it to the left side of my frame. I did have to do some scaling to make it look just right.
One word of caution on using the full body portrait layout on your target frame:
~ Because of how Blizzard has cataloged the portrait info, some of the portraits do not look "correct" in full body. While most humanoids and beasts that hunters can tame will look good, some creatures will default to a section picture instead of what you would consider the full body picture.
Good Luck!

Posted Jul 14, 2010I recently installed Pitbull 4.0 - deleted WTF folder etc.
When I try to use the Dropdown Menu at Bars->"Default texture" in "Layout Editor" it brings this error:

Posted Jul 13, 2010If you prefer to use another rune add-on, to turn off the PB4 rune frame you just need to go to the layout for your player frame and under indicators for Runes, uncheck the enable box.

Posted Jul 17, 2010If you were on another toon it would not show Runes as an option. (This is also true for shamans and totems.)

Posted Jul 12, 2010Hi all,
I would like to share my customization to the aggro function of PitBull4. As a tank, I found it difficult to spot if I had lost aggro unless I was starting at the group unit frames. I wanted to be able to see, in the corner of my eye, whether I lost aggro. In general, the different aggro functions (border/background/health bar) were not sufficient and not nearly visible enough.

Posted Jul 12, 2010However, it is a massive CPU hog, unlike X-Perl and Grid. When I turn on CPU profiling, I don't see PitBull taking up tons of time, but I do see Ace3 taking up *tons* of time, which it only does when I use PitBull. I just don't have the computer to accept a frame rate drop just for unit frames, and it's really noticeable.
Any chance at some kind of optimization? I'm not sure why PitBull is so slow compared to X-Perl and Grid. I'm thinking there's just too much calculation and display going on at runtime. If I were going to optimize a real-time tool in a scripting language, the configuration system would probably be a code generator that essentially precompiles to only those snippets of code and API hooks that are needed. You're not ultimately doing much more than the other frames, so I suspect you're just doing too much of it dynamically at run time. The others frames are much more static in their configuration options.
Maybe it just needs more optimization, or maybe Ace3 is slow. I don't know that much about the WoW APIs, but PitBull 4 is still a massive CPU hog, far beyond the other unit frame replacements. Not really any better than PitBull 3 so far in my experience.
Anyway, I'll keep trying, but it's currently taking me from a smooth & consistent 30 fps and often dropping me to 15–20 fps when I'm in an instance. I love PitBull, but I'm going back to the built-in frames for now.
If there any suggestions or anything I can do to help, I'm happy to do so.
