You can help translate PitBull for your language with the localization tool.

Classic

PitBull works with WoW Classic! Classic Era/Vanilla is supported in v4.3.x-vanilla releases. Cataclysm Classic is supported in v4.2.x releases (the same releases retail use).

Classic Era caveats:

Aura duration is not available from the API, so PitBull uses LibClassicDurations to show them. The duration can be inaccurate if it's affected by rank or talents.
Cast info is only available for your spells from the API. PitBull uses LibClassicCasterino to show cast bars for other units, but this can be inaccurate since there is a lot of guess-work involved.

I have been using Pitbull for as long as I can remember, but with the release of Cataclysm and specifically 4.2, Blizzard has implemented many unique bars and meters such as the Atramedes sound bar or Cho'gal's corrupted blood bar, and even in some of the quests such as the Thrall chain. However, with Pitbull it seems to have completely disabled these bars and I do not know how I can get them back. There is an option within the config for alternate power bars, but that doesn't seem to help. Any help would be appreciated.

The alternate Power bar is indeed what you are looking for. Perhaps you have it disabled on the layout you are using?

I was able to use it for the Thrall quests just fine.

What version of PB4 are you using?

I apologize if this has already been raised, but I can't seem to find the information anywhere: Is there a way I can use Blizzard's "role" settings to bring up tank frames? I have a "MTanks" group set up, and it currently works off of the tank setting in raid frames, as set by the raid lead. However, my current raid lead doesn't set this, but he will do a role check.

Unfortunately no. I believe the last time we looked at doing that, there was a limitation on an addons use of the code that they use for that. :(

You can however, with another mod such as oRA3 set the tanks group for yourself and PB will make the tank frames.

I seem to have some how "disabled" the party frames, is there a way of getting it back without having to remove everything and reinstall?

If you did delete the group, then you can just make a new group to apply to party frames. No need to reinstall :)

Check under /pb > Groups and see if you have unchecked the "enable" box on the general tab. Make sure that you have a group in the Current Group Box and use the "Unit Group" drop down menu to set to party. (The default one was called Party)

The guide linked above can help you if you find you do need to make a new group, but I wouldn't be surprised if you didn't just uncheck a box :)

It sounds like you may have updated or altered your shared media add on. If you have your old shared media you could reinstall or try dl a new version.

This addon is really great - but with 4.2's arrival, it seemed to have messed up the available textures for all the bars.

Before I had an armory texture for all my bars, but come 4.2 they were all replaced with Blizzard's Skill texture and Blizzard. I have no other options. :( This seems to be the case even with the new, updated Pitbull on the 28th.

You CAN make a custom lua text with a line break to do what you are wanting to do.

You may find it easier to open a text editor as a convenient spot to c/p the codes you want into. Then take the code for name and the code for health and put them together with a line break of "\n" between them. Voila you now have a two line name over health percent text to position.

The guide above does have some information on luatexts.

I love this addon, and with the AuraBars plugin it is very close to perfect.

This might sound nitpicky, but the fact is the only problems remaining in an addon like this are minor ones.

I'm trying to set up the text for health and name to be on top of each other in the health bar, like so:

it is all but impossible, however, unless your bars are configured in a very specific manner while you attach one text to the center of the health bar and the other text to the center of the unitframe.

Is it possible to give us top, middle and bottom options within a bar for text placement? That would be extremely useful for this (ideally I would have them both in the center on top of each other, but this other solution sounds easier to implement considering that it's already in other areas of the addon. But heck, I don't know lua so I'm only guessing).

If this could be implemented, I'd really appreciate it! If not, thanks for the great addon anyway!

This is the primary issue here as well. Our playtime has gone down significantly as our real life commitments have increased. So things are actually in-progress but not completed yet. How we were previously implementing the config modes was changed which meant that the feature needs to be completely re-written.

I've been using pitbull pretty much since I found out about it(somewhere around TBC). It's extremely customizable and easy (yes even 3 was easy though it took way longer).
Lately though it feels like the development has stopped and it only gets updated for new patches.
I've asked at curseforge but there seem to be no answers there, so I'm asking here too since there are some here.
Is there an ETA on Boss frames. It's been in the game since 3.3 and it's a long time not to be supported. It can't be hard to make but unfortunately I do not know lua to make a plugin maybe for it and since my time is limited I can't learn how to do so.
So I'm asking the developers or anyone else that know how to do it... Please please someone make the Boss frames. (I hate to install other addons just for boss frames and I can't find any addon the can even remotely compare to pitbull)

On a different note would be nice to give us full config option again.
Thank you for the great addon and keep up the updates at least if the rest is too much to ask.

I'm having an issue where the default Blizzard indicators for DK runes always show up, even when I'm using the rune indicators in Pitbull. They're up in the lefthand corner, nowhere even near my Pitbull frames. The Blizzard player frame isn't showing, though. What can I do to get rid of the runes?

Hello everyone, I want to highlight buffs that I can spell steal from target being a mage. How do I implement it in Pitbull? It would be nice if some of you would also recommend any other addon, that can do it. thx in advance
