cgCrafty
Features:
- Search *all* tradeskill / crafting windows
- Search by name, reagent, required tools or for which recipes you have materials
- Link reagents/materials for an item to chat
- Hooks into the existing UI to be as lightweight as possible, loading only when requested
- Plays nicely with Autocraft
- Offers 'fastenchant' functionality that hides the enchant overwrite confirmation dialogue.
Description: There are a lot of different mods out there that have similar functionality, but they all either add too many features or don't have the right one. If you're looking to add a simple search to your tradeskill/crafting windows, cgCrafty should fit that niche perfectly.
cgCrafty offers search functionality to your crafting/tradeskill windows in a lightweight, unobtrusive way. The mod will add a small window attached to the bottom of the currently open crafting/tradeskill window. As of version 2.0, you may also link the required reagents/materials required in order to construct/craft the selected item to chat. cgCrafty will not hook into or capture any events until you've actually opened either of the crafting or tradeskill windows. It is written for speed, efficiency and most of all, usability.
To turn off the mod or access fastenchant, check out the slash commands: /cgc or /cgcrafty
This mod has Ace2 embedded. There is a thread concerning this mod on the WoWAce forums as well, which can be found at http://www.wowace.com/forums/index.php?topic=2627.0...
Discovered an interesting bug with cgCrafty. If I apply a weapon oil to my weapon and I wish to re-apply an oil to that weapon before the current oil has worn off, I get a Blizzard error saying cgCrafty has prevented me from taking this action with the options to disable it and reload my UI or ignore the error and cancel the operation. Needless to say, disabling cgCrafty prevents this error from occurring. What could be causing this? I suspect the 'fastenchant' feature of cgCrafty is clashing with something as applying a weapon oil is a form of applying a temporary enchant and if there is one there already, it's confusing cgCrafty's logic.

Nihlo, I can't replicate that bug though I have one other user who's reporting that error. Which tradeskill are you opening, is it the first tradeskill opened, and are you using any addons like MobileFrames that automatically force LoadOnDemand addons to be loaded?
To test this, do the following:
If you see it print out "Tradeskill is Loaded", that means they are indeed being prematurely loaded. Let me know.
Thanks Chuck, appreciate you fixing that. :)
I'd like to d/l your mod, but it says invalid archive every time I d/l it.
That's my fault edgeblade, I tried using an auto-generated zip and it just failed miserably; somehow it was rar'ing them instaed of zipping. Go ahead and redownload, the version up now should be just fine.
The two most common queries regarding gems are "which fits my socket" and "which gems give me that attribute".
The description of each gem (which appears on the second and third line of the tooltip and can be parsed with the Gratuity Library) contains info regarding its effect and the color of the socket it fits. Therefore I would be able to use it to search for a color and/or an attribute.
I experimented a bit last night and got it working for me. I'd like to see it as a feature of the official addon though.
Would it be possible to add one more search type, "search in description"? It would greatly help with jewelcrafting, so I can search for "yellow damage" to get gems fitting a yellow socket that increase spell damage.
docthis, would it be better if I added "by colour" specifically for Jewelcrafting? Or did you have your heart set on description?
Well, the search type was what I had in mind too. :)
Salleh, this latest version laid the groundwork for searching by Triviality (the colours you asked for). I just ran out of time today so I decided to release it with the new "Have Materials".
Haven't yet tested this, though it seems to be the best crafting mod made to the date. Even if I haven't tried it, I have a simple request :) . Could you make a button or something, that searches for all (known) recipes that can provide a skill point (orange, yellow, green) ?
salleh: That's not a bad idea, though I'm not sure where I would fit such a button into the current frame. Perhaps I'll add it to the search type, then simply disable the search text menu. Let me give it some thought.
Hi @ZAG24 use the addons possessions or sanity http://ui.worldofwar.net/ui.php?id=1013 browse all your characters you will be abble to see all what you have in mailbox , bank and inventory it is not what you dreamed but it is helpful
Hi. I don't want to malign your fine product. It serves a great purpose and seems well written (which is why I'm coming to you). However, it doesn't do what I was looking for, and I haven't been able to find a mod that does. I don't have the time or expertise to write a mod, so I'm hoping that, by putting a bug in your ear, you'll want to take on the task. :-)
You know how all of the (default) tradeskill windows show in the main list how many of an item you can make given your current supplies? Unfortunately, they only show it if you have everything, including the easily purchased items that I don't bother to waste my precious bag slots on. They also don't take into account the supplies that I might have in the bank or in the mail.
I'd like to see a mod that does take these into account. So, suppose I am carrying 16 pieces of devilsaur leather, 35 pieces of rugged leather but I have 80 more in the bank, and I have no rune thread (but could easily by some at any trade vendor). When I look at the listing for devilsaur gauntlets (which takes 8 devilsaur leather, 30 rugged leather, and a rune thread) I would see:
Devilsaur Gauntlets [0 / 1 / 2]
This tells me that I could make 0 right now, with the supplies that I am holding. I could make 1 with just a trip to a trade vendor for the rune thread, and I could make 2 if I stopped at the bank (or mailbox) AND made a trip to the vendor.
The trick, of course, is that you would have to keep track of what gear I have sitting in the bank and the mailbox. But there are other mods that do this, so perhaps you can work with them.
Anyway, it's just an idea that I think would be a great addition to your existing fine mod.
Daworm: It does.
Zag24: Hondairen has it right, this isn't within the scope of what I want this addon to do. It takes what was intended as a simple introduction of search and linking to the tradeskill frames and turns it into an inventory tracking mod. I will, however, investigate the API of other mods that do this and see if I can hook into their data.
If this does all that you say it does ?
It will be THE mod for Crafters !!
