Quest Item

Table of Contents

This project is abandoned and its default file will likely not work with the most recent version of World of Warcraft. Whether this project is out of date or its author has marked it as abandoned, this project is no longer maintained.

Quest item is intended to solve the problem of where on earth did the item I just got for the quest go to in my bags. If you play "hunt your bags" for quest items this is the addon for you.

The idea is that you get what looks like an extra bag (it cant actually give you extra bag space sorry) but that only shows your quest items. If you open this bag you will only see quest items or items that begin a quest. This way you have only a single location to look in to view all the items you need for a quest. You need never again have to open your normal bags to hunt for quest items.

I plan to add features like warning you if you put quest items in the bank, showing quest items in the bag that are in the bank. Colour coding your bag items to highlight quest items, and any other useful feature in line with the goal of the addon that users suggest.

Use /qi show or /qi open to display the bag. Or use the FuBar plugin to click to open it.

I love this simple effective addon! Thank you. I am having a minor blip--it works with all my characters except for my main. I have tried deleting it and reinstalling but it still does not display on my main character--it is just fine on all the alts--any suggestions?

any chance of making this broker compatible i can load it on choc bar but each time i log in and out i have to go in and load on demand then it shows up

Did you notice that Quest Item comes with a FuBar addon? Doesn't this do what you want it to do?

Sorry if I'm being a bit clueless but I REALLY don't know what you are looking for it to do? Please explain what you actually want it to do.

what im looking for if for your addon to display in ChocolateBar Broker Display its kinda like fubar but it is for ldb addons with the way you have your mod coded it will only show up in fubar even though i have fubar2broker installed it still not showing up cause i dont have my fubar turned on in my addons

Ok so my question remains please link an addon that does this that IS NOT a fubar addon. It is pointless linking something that then requires fubar2broker I need to see how an addon that "just does it" works. Then I can implement that coding.

this addon is awesome, but since 4.0.1 if the bag's open and you get more quest items, it doesn't update until you close/reopen. thanks for making this btw!

I've updated this for 4.0.1 but for some reason the curse svn is not permitting a commit.

I'm awaiting feedback from the Curse admins to grant me access to commit the fix for v4.0.1

Actually if you click on the development site link above you can download the latest version r46. Which works just fine with patch 4.0.1. There is just a bug with the Curse site preventing me being able to commit a release version and that needs a Curse admin to fix.

Hey vamp, perhaps you could just provide the code changes in whatever file(s) that we could edit ourselves on our hard drive. I don't think that would be against the rules since I've seen it done before, but I'm not sure.

nice mod, I just fixed it up and did a bit of code fixes for the new Cataclysm mod coming out, if you like I can send you it to post on this site, or with the mod makers permission, I can post on this site myself re-built it wasn't that hard to re-do, good addon ^^
