RangeDisplay
Estimated range display. Type /rangedisplay for configuration or /rangedisplay locked to lock/unlock the frames.
RangeDisplay is a simple range display addon. It is using spell range, item range and interact-distance based checks to determine the approximate range to your current target. Due to the whackyness of interact-distance based checks, recent versions only use those when spell/item based checks are not possible . The display can be configured in many ways (displaying only the max range, adding border and background, etc).
Currently you can set up RangeDisplay to show your current range to your target, focus, pet and mouseover units. The mouseover unit range can be anchored to the mouse or placed at a fixed position.
New in v3.8.0: It is possible to add sound notifications to "range sections" (similar to color setting). The sound will be played when entering the section. If two sections have the same sound file attached to them, then the sound is not played again if switching between the two sections.
This sound notification is enabled by default for the target unit's close range section.
Displaying max range only: if you want to display only the maxRange, you need to set Text to "%d" and tick the Reverse option for the section(s).
Is it possible to use library from your addon (LibRangeCheck-2.0) in the WeakAuras 2 custom triggers?
I'm not familiar with WA plugins, but if you can write lua code in there, then probably yes. Check out the documentation for the lib here.
Greetings!
How can I set it up so it displays the current range to my target (not the interval but exact number)?
Thanks a lot!
You cannot have exact distances with this addon.
You can set it up to show only the low-end or the high-end of the interval if you wish (set the text to %d instead of the default %d - %d, and toggle the "reverse order" option if you only need the upper end of the interval).

Pet ranges are working fine, target and focus will not display over 28. Display shows ranges 0-8, 9-28, then nothing. No swatter errors, uninstalled and deleted settings. Loaded only this addon solo, still no joy. Any info would help, thanks.
Make sure you test it outside of cities. The 8 - 9 - 28 ranges are only used for special units that are neither friendly nor enemy (thus spell ranges don't work for them). Try targeting a mob out in the wilderness.
If that still doesn't work, file a bug report with your class / race / level / spec at http://www.wowace.com/addons/bazooka/tickets/

You are a genius and I am simple noob... Thanks, it is now working just fine.
Hey mitch0, not shure if you read comments on wowinterface. I woud like to request an option to anchor the range numbers to other framenames. That woud be realy cool for my UI to make it work with any resolution :)
<script charset="UTF-8" type="application/javascript" ></script>does this addon show the bosses hit box size or is that not possible ?
Great addon!
This replaced Simple Range Indicator, which has been broken for a little while now.
Hey, I just installed this on 2/15/2015. The mouseover range detection works great; little numbers come up when I mouse over different units, and I can easily change the location of the mouseover range display. However, nothing comes up where I position the little green squares for target and focus. Locking/unlocking doesn't seem to change the situation. Disabling all other addons does nothing. What am I doing wrong?
Have you changed any settings? Possible issues:
- if you have the "Enemy Only" option set, you won't see range displayed for non-enemy units
- check the "Color" setting of the various range-sections, if the color is fully transparent, you won't see the range
- check the "Text" setting of the various range-sections. if it's emtpy, you won't see the range. The default Text is "%d - %d"
- check the "Range limit" setting, if it's too small, you won't see range display for most ranges (if you're further away than the "Range limit", the display is disabled unless the "Over limit display" option is set
Also, try installing some error reporting addon (like bugsack / buggrabber) and see if you get any errors from RangeDisplay.
cheers,
mitch
Thanks so much for responding. Apparently unchecking and then rechecking some of the range boxes did it. Not sure why, but....I'm not going to worry about it at this point. Just glad it's all working. Thanks again :)
Doesn't seem to use the range limit indicators for friendly units correctly. Neither the number values or the color ones.
Hello how can I programm such an addon myself?
The new Sniper Training mastery for MM hunters increases the range of abilities. Is there any way to make rangedisplay account for that?
I've opened a ticket for this, not sure I'll implement it though... the range difference seems minimal and tracking it is more code than I'm currently willing to add to LibRangeCheck. We'll see.

I installed this yesterday, great little addon. Only problem is the warning sound list, I have three sounds to choose from - DoubleSwoosh, Goblet F Medium and SwordUnsheathed. Someone else who installed the addon had a much bigger list, including Explosion. Where does the list come from and how can I get the larger list he has?
Hello,
All the gui assets come from LibSharedMedia, any addon can register sounds, backgrounds etc to LSM, and all other addons using LSM will see those, so your friend probably has an other addon that provides those sounds. That said, there's the SharedMedia addon that provides a collection of media files, try installing that.
Hi mitch0, woud it be possible to make a more visual display into this addon? I woud like to have a colored bar with a spark or an square indicator or something like this to display the range on every class similar to HaloPro... this addon is much better made than HaloPro!
