RangeDisplay
Estimated range display. Type /rangedisplay for configuration or /rangedisplay locked to lock/unlock the frames.
RangeDisplay is a simple range display addon. It is using spell range, item range and interact-distance based checks to determine the approximate range to your current target. Due to the whackyness of interact-distance based checks, recent versions only use those when spell/item based checks are not possible . The display can be configured in many ways (displaying only the max range, adding border and background, etc).
Currently you can set up RangeDisplay to show your current range to your target, focus, pet and mouseover units. The mouseover unit range can be anchored to the mouse or placed at a fixed position.
New in v3.8.0: It is possible to add sound notifications to "range sections" (similar to color setting). The sound will be played when entering the section. If two sections have the same sound file attached to them, then the sound is not played again if switching between the two sections.
This sound notification is enabled by default for the target unit's close range section.
Displaying max range only: if you want to display only the maxRange, you need to set Text to "%d" and tick the Reverse option for the section(s).

Looks like the packager is broken. I've packaged it with the BigWigs packager now (v6.0.1)

Please check v6.0.4 for the classic era changes
In reply to mitchnull: I tested v6.0.4 for classic era but it doesent fix it for me.
To help you debug the proplem:
I first deleted both range display directorys (RangeDisplay and RangeDisplay_Options) in the Wow AddOn directory and installed fresh v6.0.4. but this doesent fix the problem.
Since there is a Profile section in RangeDisplay not sure if one should additionaly delete a certain file in the WTF directory also.. (At least after fresh installing v6.0.4 some range limit values had the same "old" value which I set in the previous version . so I guess they are stored out of the two rangedisplay directorys)
My Wow directory is on a SSD called F:
You are speaking from Classic Era or Classic WOTLK ?
I have tried it with different chars (classic era) with different language settings , deactivated all other addons, different range limit settings .. NO WAY for me ... 35 yard range is max if range is larger it doesent display anything.. (ofc in WOTLK it works for me but I was asking for Classic Era)
Classic Era: Problem -> If the target range is more then 35 units it doesent show anything . (OFC I increased the range limit settings) From 0-35 range everything works well. Any idea how to fix this ?
This still supported ? No anser in forum not answer from author ;(
In reply to TomA01: Anyone got it work in Classic Era (range display over 35 yards/ units ?
In reply to TomA01:
please check v6.0.5

hi MitchNull
thx so much for keeping one of my favorite WoW-addons alive.
its great being able to see the distance from a target.
and thx for the lib update for it.. :D ^_^
I like seeing the range at anytime..
because, I am currently on a lv37 panda shaman soloing original content on retail in the Eastern Plaguelands right now.. for rep.
so yeah its helpful since I one shot everything lol
Sorry for double post. It will not let me delete it.
I have a problem with the addon showing 20-25 yards when I'm in melee range. It also often un-lock itself. I have this problem in Arms-spec, no problem while in Protection-spec.
In reply to jagmed:
Please check in the latest version (v6.0.0)
In reply to mitchnull: Thank you. Arms-warrior works fine now. <3

is there a possibility of making this work only in/out of combat? thanks!
In reply to masta0fevil:
What exactly would you like? Only show ranges in-combat? What's the rationale?
I plugged in the LibRangeCheck-3.0 v1.0.8 into this addon and so far seems to be working.
Haven't tried on all my alts yet, but my Hunter,Mage, and Paladin all seem to be working right.
Any thoughts?
note: Balance Druid,Elemental Shaman,Destro Warlock,Havoc DH are working also.
WealAuras range check seems to be working as well.
In reply to msc6399: what exactly do you mean plugged in? i grabbed the lib 3 from github, put it in the /lib folder of this addon, commented out lib2 and added lib3 path in the rangedisplay.toc, but no change.
